Our first Camping Trip together was made extra special by the fantastic site, the lovely scenery and the warmth and friendliness of the hosts. A lovely place to stay and we are looking forward to returning at some point with the children.
Excellent shower/toilet facilities and perfect location to explore North Wales. Christine gave us all the information we needed to go out locally for the day and was always on hand if needed. No noise, well spaced tents and very clean.

Just returned from a lovely stay at this campsite. The field itself is quite small but it wasn't too busy and we had plenty of room. The owners are very helpful and friendly, we hired a brazier and had a fire both evenings which was a real treat.
The toilets and showers were always clean, the new shower facility was open but the partitions weren't in so it was one at a time. It wasn't a problem as I never had to wait with it being such a small site.
All in all a great weekend and lovely little friendly site. Only bad point was the road being so close bit I wear ear plugs when camping anyway so didn't bother me.

We spent 4 days at LLyn rhys in a tent, the site was in a beautiful location with lovely scenery, there was a little stream running round the field which our two children loved playing in,
the facilities were to the highest standards and always spotlessly clean. The owners were very warm, friendly people and always happy to advise on places to visit in the area and give directions.
We had a fantastic time even though the weather was not great and would highly recommend the place. We are looking forward to visiting again next year and hopefully getting some nicer weather.

Lovely flat field with the River Alyn running around one side of it,we thought it was a stream as it's not a large fast flowing part of the river.
The facilities are clean and while we were there the new toilet and shower block was to be completed by the weekend so it should be up and running by now.
There is plenty of free hot water in a dishwashing room around the side of the farmhouse. We enjoyed our stay and chose the campsite as we are national trust members and the site is near a few properties we wanted to visit.
There is some road noise but it does get quiet at about 11pm and starts up again at about 7am but we only really noticed it on the first night so perhaps we got used to it or maybe it depends if there are any events on in the surrounding area causing the roads to be busier( someone on the site mentioned there was some sort of motor rally on while we were there), but we enjoyed our stay and would go back

Just came back from this camp site on Sunday. Took two young kids and a dog. Great location in N Wales. Very busy when we were there but was still good. Toilets could have been upgraded and went in there on a couple of occasions and no loo roll. They were due to open a new block of 5 showers this week though. Not sure if toilets were in there too. Owner was lovely. Very chatty and showed us a gentle walk for kids and dog and gave us a map. Located on a main road which was very noisy at night and early on when people sped along it. Would go back but would try to get a location further away from the road.

Recently visited Llyn Rhys Campsite for the first time having previously stayed at several other more well known and more established sites in the area. Llyn Rhys is only relatively small and quiet but big on hospitality. On arrival we were greeted by Mrs Hughes who took time out to show us around the site and inform us of the local facilities. On site, the pitches were spacious and well maintained. Toilets and showers were clean and well stocked with the necessary essentials. Probably the most refreshing aspect of the Llyn Rhys philosophy is their wholehearted acceptance and allowance of campfires. For us to be able to sit around a fire at the end of a long day exploring North Wales turned a great weekend into a brilliant one. Llyn Rhys ticked all the right boxes for us and we will definitely be looking to stay there again the next time we're over that way.

We have just stayed for a weekend at this campsite with our 3 daughters aged 10, 8 and 7. We had a brilliant time and have just rebooked for the August Bank Holiday for 3 nights. We felt that there was a really good atmosphere at LLyn Rhys. The owners were lovely, and very helpful. The toilets were spotless, and there is a new shower block and toilets being built, which Christine said would be ready in about 3 weeks. The campsite has a stream running around it, I took the children's wellies and they had great fun playing in it. Christine took the children to see the blind bull (who they named Morris!) She also took them to collect eggs from the hens, which they haven't stopped talking about! There is a couple of pubs within walking distance, one is the Crown that only serves drinks, and the other is The Plough, which does 2 meals for £10 Monday to Friday. We ate at the Plough on the Friday which was nice for the money, they also have a play area for the children. We are really looking forward to returning to LLyn Rhys.

We stayed at this site for 4 nights toward the end of July 2010. Having stayed at a wide variety of camp sites around the country, I can honestly say that this is one of the better ones.
The owner was super helpful and friendly (before and during our stay) and regularly available to help people out with anything they needed. The site itself is small but in a good way, it didn't feel cramped or over-run even when it was busy on the Sat and Sun. The existing shower facility is located in the owners home but new shower and toilet blocks have been converted and were almost finished while we were there.
The price was fair and you could buy fire wood on site for a reasonable fee, there are two pubs within walking distance and a town with 2 supermarkets less than a 10 min drive away. This is an ideal site for mountain bike enthusiasts with the Coed Llandegla forest trails and centre just 5 minutes away. We will definitely return before the summer is out and in years to come!

We have just come back from our first trip to Llyn Rhys, it was truly great! My 6 yr old had a great time in the stream and made a new friend which was so nice to see. We were also lucky enough to do the orienteering course which was great fun especially the ride on the golf buggy to get there!
The camp fire at night finished off the day with a treat with toasted marshmellows. Perfect mother daughter weekend

Stayed three nights last weekend in may, had a few probs getting there but christine was excellent about it, arrived sun dinner time and shown a choice of plots with hookup.
Stopped in main field near the top gates. Lovely weather for most of stay one bad night and morning of rain. Local pub up the road did 2 for 1 main meals, very good value, and only 10 mins walk, was a pub 200 yrds away but not serving food.
Site was very good, plenty hot water and toilets cleaned often, shower is in their main house, but felt separate from house, new shower and toilet blocks being built, should be great when completed.
Site fairly level for pitching, stream runs around edge of the site. Very cosy site no probs at all. Will visit again when building work is completed
Ruthin and Wrexham only 7 miles away plenty shops supermarkets etc, no shops nearby though.
