What a great little campsite this is.
Not sure what the last review means - What’s this site trying to be? It's trying to be a small farm campsite with good clean facilities and an on-site tea room. It does this very well and we had a great stay.
The staff were friendly, the toilets / showers were kept clean and kids loved looking at all the farm animals. The farm makes its own ice cream and it comes in many varied flavours.
The unisex toilets seem a little strange at first, but really don't cause any problems.
Overall - great value for money and we will definitely be returning again.

What an absolute find this place was, so friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble.
The animals were fab and the Ice Cream out of this world and all for a mere £9 per night including electric hookup - what a real campsite should be
Unisex showers with toilets and washing up all in the same room took a little bit of getting used too but everything else more than made up for this (marked down on child friendliness for this reason)
We'll definitely be going back and will sing their praises wherever we go

A real gem of a place. Wanted a place off the M6 not too far away from Sandbach and this was ideal. We were meeting up with friends who have two small children so there had to be something there to keep them entertained and the Red Lion Farm certainly did. Lucky us went on the weekend of Glorious weather. We arrived Friday teatime and were shown to our two pitches in the corner of the rally field. Plenty of space and near to the new block of facilities which are shared with the farm shop when open. Two showers side by side and four toilets. First time caravanning my husband and I have showered next door to each other. There is also a washing machine and tumble dryer and facility. Mop bucket provided to clean shower cubicle after use. Could do with a couple of more hooks in shower cubicle and a mirror wouldn't go a miss.
Post Office/shop and butchers in the village which is 5 mins walk from camp site. Two lovely pubs The Bell and The Shropshire both with outdoor area and both serving food. Ate at the Shropshire Inn just be aware the bar menu only goes up to 7 o'clock and then changes to the restaurant menu. The manager was accommodating when we ordered after 7 on the bar menu.
On the Saturday we walked to Bradley across the fields from the farm. Easy walk about an hour an half. Quaint village with The Red Lion pub we were going to eat but food is mainly restaurant type so just ended up sharing a sandwich and bowl of chips. I had a starter of sardines served on a bed of lettuce very delightful. We walked back along the road on very wide grass verges.
The ice cream made from the Jersey cows at the farm is lovely and so many flavours. The children kept themselves entertained looking at the farm animals and playing ball or scootering.
Very reasonable for £9 a night with electric, showers and awning and no extra to pay for children where a lot of places charge for these extras.

We are new to caravanning, having previously had a motorhome, and booked one night at this site for a 'tester' night. What a find!
This is a fantastic little site, with farm animals for the kids to enjoy and nice, clean facilities. There is only one toilet/shower room but it has four toilet cubicles and two showers which is fine in my opinion for a site of this size. Definitely though, the best thing about the site is the ice cream, it is lovely!
The site is easy to book into, you just go into the tea shop if it's open or to the farmhouse, and there are a good number of pitches, all with hookup.
All in all a fantastic site, excellent prices, and we are already planning to visit again!

What a great site ! This was our first outing in the campervan, the site was very welcoming and simple to check in.
There is a hardstanding area and a grassed area all seemed to have electric hook up.
Had a lovely cuppa in the on-site tea room (mince pies were lovely and home made) then had a look at the Lamas, guinea pigs and rabbits before heading to the local pub, there are 2 in the village and we found the Bell to be the nicer of the 2, great food and choice.
Would we visit again ? Yes, we have already booked.

What a lovely place to stay this campsite is. The campsite is well maintained and the welcome was good. I wish I had taken my grandkids, I was parked by a field of llama type animals, who were very interested in knowing what's going on.
There was a field with ponies, sheep, goats etc and a field of Jersey cows. The cows provide the milk that they make their home made ice cream from, it was delicious. People come on site just to buy it and I don't blame them, so yummy.
There is a lovely tea room and picnic benches to use when the weather is good. The pen full of rabbits will keep the little ones amused.
If I have to make one little criticism, there is only 1 toilet/shower room. I bet in busy times, it can be quite a wait if you need the loo while someone is having a shower.
For £8 a night with electric hook up, it's worth every penny and I will be visiting again next year in the summer months.

Spent two day weekend here with hubby and 2 kids, 7 and 9. Was a nice little site on a farm with little tea shop.
As reviewed site has 1 toilet and shower which did make it a little awkward first thing and later evening. You are very aware that when taking shower that people may be waiting so I didn't bother. Hubby had shower and said it was ok. Clean but cold due to window open, so close it!
Weather was ok, wet for a few hours but didn't seem too boggy although the grass was long, very long, boots are a must here.
No dog walk but lane is a quiet enough to walk in.
Pubs within walking distance.
Rabbits, guinea pigs, llamas, cows etc. All around but not a nuisance.
All in all site is nice, cheap and what we are looking for for a quick weekend getaway. 30 mins from homw and peace and quiet.
Oh and yes sat nav is wrong, be on your guard when you pass The Bell pub on right in Haughton that the left turn down a lane will take you to the farm. It is was signposted from road so keep your eyes peeled.

We had a wonderful night at this site, we have only just started touring so its one of the first sites we have visited. But we will be going again.
The site is lovely and clean the animals are really nice and the kids love them (my grandkids came to us for the day on sunday). We only booked for one night but liked it so much we stayed on for another night!
The tea rooms, shop and staff were all very nice and the dairy ice cream was sublime. Cannot wait for our next weekend away. The only downside is that there is only one toilet so when the tea rooms are open there can be a bit of a wait but other than this we found it excellent.
We visited a local pub for Sunday lunch which catered for all our needs including the grandkids. Also a small village shop just at the end of the lane stocks almost everything you may need. But at £8.00 per unit per night it is excellent value for money.

What a bargin to camp here at only £8.00 a night per unit with eletric, the campsite also has a toilet / shower, potwashing sink, washer, separate dryer and microwave all free to use. You book in at the shop where I was given a big yellow card recite and told where the facilities were and which part to pitch.
The pitch was nice and flat, the shop sold homemade ice-cream, cakes, free range eggs etc, it also had a separate tea room. Outside the shop there were picnic tables, there is no play area for kids but the brilliant little pets corner makes up for that,
The bell pub is 10 mins walk away, stafford town centre 4/5 miles away

Despite the 'satnav' telling us the site was on the right we found it very easily but then the reception wasn't sign posted so had to go into the shop, which we found out was the reception to book in. The staff didn't know about our booking or give us a card for the window to show we had paid, which later resulted in the site owner accusing us of not paying.
The site is very clean and tidy, grass pitches kept well mown and level. Cows and sheep roaming the feilds around the farm plus lots of other animals to see. Only big down side was the toilet and shower being in the same room and the only one for both male and female and tea room guests.
All in all a great get away for the weekend and at £8 a night you can't grumble too much. Booking again for August.
