Stayed on this site 4th July for 1 week, lovely small site, We were made very welcome, we used the small on site shop, facility's are excellent and staff superb. Shower blocks very clean and well maintained. In a great area for the Forrest of dean, and surrounding areas, two good pubs near by. Very dog friendly. And also have alovely facility to have a coked breakfast in the morning.

Stayed at this very charming site whilst visiting relatives in the area, the site is very well laid out and quite new, there is a small shop and cafe area in reception, we were made to feel very welcome by the owners, the site is constructed to a high standard, it is ideally located to visit the forest of dean, we shall definitely stay here again

Top site if you want all the facilities. I prefer more basic sites generally as they're better value for money. But this offers all that a family needs. 30 minute walk to pub at St brevials where menu looked good but I won't pay silly prices for pub grub.
Wonderful walk from sites and a great area for hikes among the steep step hills and forested valleys.

This was our second visit and have already booked for our 3rd in July, The site is run by a great family who are so friendly & helpful nothing is too much trouble for them. The showers are spotless & the home cooked breakfast is amazing. The pitches are really big so plenty of room to spread out. The walks in the forest are beautiful, we have been when the bluebells were out & again when the wild garlic was in flower, we are looking forward to the Autumn walk. My husband enjoys golf & had several local courses to choose from, The local Pubs serve great food, the views are fantastic, You are guaranteed peace & quite as most mobile phone don't get a signal apart from Vodaphone but they have a phone on site, they do have WIFI on site and even have a TV point on the hook up (an aerial cable of at least 10 meters is recommended), so if you want to leave behind the daily stress & strain of every day life you must visit as this site is amazing and would recommend to all. Alison & Patrick

Found the site very easy from the directions on the website. The owners and family are extremely friendly and helpful. The site and facilities are excellent and very clean and tidy. They also have a cafe on site selling coffee and cake, full English breakfast and it was marvellous. You will have to book it the day before. We felt very safe on site because of the barriers at the gates which you get an access card to enter for a £10 deposit. The food in the miners pub in Sling is worth a visit its fantastic but you will need to book. There is also a well stocked shop on site and if they don't have something in they can point you in the right direction as to where you can get it from. Will definitely be booking again.

This is a little gem that only opened in this Spring, but seems to already be getting booked up fast. We had a lovely stay over half term. It is a family run site and they couldn't have been more helpful, both through the booking stage and during the stay. There is barrier parking and a lovely safe feel to the site for kids to cycle or potter about. 10 acres of bluebell woods all around, which makes the new site feel more 'mature' than it is. The most peaceful setting between the Forest of Dean and Wye valley. Easy access to everything the area has to offer, whatever the weather. Excellent shower block with hot water and a bath for mucky kids. Lots of useful tourist information around and recommendations for day trips. Small shop for all the essentials and papers, but larger shops 10 mins away too. BBQ to hire. Great cafe for cooked breakfast(try to order the day before)and lunch. They even have a few kids toys and bikes for toddlers to use on site. They seem to have thought of everything!

Just returned from a weekend at this lovely site. It was pretty full mainly with tents as it was the end of the half term holiday week. A very friendly site with good facilities the showers were hot, clean and well maintained. We ate breakfast in the café which we ordered the day before, lovely and good value for money. There is a small on site shop, which could be useful as there are no local shops in the village. We walked through the woods and across the fields to St Briavels the nearest village and had coffee in the local pub, the meals looked good too.
The pitches were well spaced out and large with firm mesh bases under the grass, perfect for the camper van. We did need to use our chocks as there was a bit of a slope. There was also a motorhome service area. Access to the site was well thought out with a barrier for security.
The site was quiet at night, although there were lots of small children there. A play area or open space for ball games would be a great future development for families.
Certainly a site we will return to

My husband and I, plus two boys aged 10 and 13 have just come back from a four night stay at this beautiful campsite. We were greeted by Beverley and what a warm welcome we received. We paid our £10 refundable fee for the barrier and a £1 a night to access the WIFI, to appease a teen age boy.
The campsite was extremely clean and the toilet block was exceptional. Such a high standard of facilities, that were kept clean and the showers were fantastic. The dustbins that were situated in two locations, were emptied regularly, so that that no rubbish littered the site. Dog bins were located in the centre of the site and at the entrance.
The camp site is children and dog friendly. There was very little noise in the evenings, and the site was full. As soon as a pitch was emptied, it was soon filled again.
The surrounding walks were beautiful through bluebell woods with the wild garlic in full flower too.
Nothing was too much for Beverley and her team. They could not do enough for any one.
We had a cooked breakfast that was absolutely delicious. We have never tasted pork sausages like the ones we had here, that were sourced locally. They also provide BBQ packs at a cost of £20 if you give prior notice, although we did not purchase one of these, they were popular with other campers.
An exceptionally clean site, that is family run and who make you feel part of the family.
Looking forward to visiting again in the near future.

What a cracking site, clean, well presented, great shower facilities everything you need. We were attending a wedding so stayed for a long weekend and explored the area of the Forest of Dean. My son forgot his cufflinks so I had to lend him mine but the site owner came to the rescue and loaned me a pair what a great service from really lovely people. Would we go again you bet we will. Why 9 and not 10 on the score it leaves something to aim for. We like dogs just a tad too many that weekend is my only observation.

We stayed at this lovely site for four nights over the May bank holiday and found the facilities to be always clean and in good order. Bev and her family made us feel very welcome and were so friendly and helpful.
We came as a large group and they did all they could to make sure we were all together which made our stay so much better than if we'd been at different ends of the site.
We throughly enjoyed our stay, especially the home made curry on Saturday night which was delivered to our pitch and tasted fantastic! : )
Wifi is available at a fee of £1 per night, it's not a great connection but better than nothing. The phone signal is zero but I do believe they have a pay phone which you can use. However being 'disconnected' from the world for a few nights is quite nice for most people!
We visited the nearby place of Puzzle wood which all I can say is WOW, this place took my breath away it was so beautiful. And across the road from that was a mini steam train place which was fantastic for our kids.
We also did the walk into St. Briavels from the campsite through the woodland and over the fields which was a lovely walk. The castle is not large but pleasant to have a look around and there is a pub with a nice beer garden close to it.
Will definitely be returning and recommending! Thank you to all at Forest & Wye campsite for making our stay so enjoyable! Some of the people in our group were first time campers and I now think they have caught the camping bug! : )
