Another fantastic weekend to be had by all.
We have been visiting this site for the past six years and we love it. It is in a prime location for a full variety of amenities.
The staff are extremely helpful and polite and the site is spotlessly clean
We will be looking forward to our next visit in the Summer
We totally disagree with a previous comment about the pitch sizes.
They are well laid out with enough room for car and caravan.
I can only imagine that they are inexperienced in towing.

Have visited this site several times due to the location near Garstang and also as it's on the Lancaster Canal it is very picturesque. Within easy walking distance of Garstang along the Canal towpath. Plenty of pitches and hooks up on all of them.
Now for the bad bits. Some pitches are very tight to reverse onto from narrow access roads, virtually impossible to avoid soiling the grass area with a large unit unless using your motor mover every time. Limited space to park car and caravan side by side, too tight in our opinion.
Recent visit spoiled by constant construction noise from Dumper trucks and a J. C. B from 8 am till well after 5 pm daily on our stay. There was no mention of this when we booked in at reception which was very disappointing as we would have stayed elsewhere had we been informed. Management seemed oblivious to this noise when approached about it.
Also noticed that the new pitches being laid out were no bigger than the rest of the site. This is a missed opportunity to have some Super pitches of good size on a site which could and should be better!

Visited this site over the Bank holiday weekend and was delighted to be offered a super pitch when I contacted the site office. I was informed due to it being a holiday period the price would be £29. 00 which I was happy to pay seeing as we would, I thought be given a good prime spot.
We have been visiting this site for over 20 years so I was aware of the layout of the site and the guy informed me the super pitch was near the play area. This turned out to be they were in the play area, this had been developed and the play area moved.
We arrived only to find the pitches were still under construction, the road and pitch was laid out in hard core with no grass around the pitch only soil. I was very disappointed as it was also near the road and wasn't the Prime spot I was expecting. I did highlight my disappointment at the reception only to be informed in their opinion the pitch was fine.
Anyone wishing to get away and relax in a well landscaped caravan pitch do not pick one of these super pitches at the moment. I feel I should have been informed of this issue before booking as me husband works on a building site and it was like being at work. If it had of rained you will be in the middle of a mud bath.
Not the weekend I was expecting.

Pleased we were only staying overnight (New Year's Eve), travelling from Scotland to London. We couldn't judge the scenery surround the site as we arrived late (in the dark) and left early the next morning. It was difficult to find even with SatNav, luckily we flagged down a local and they directed us. The pitch was very small, squeezed between two others, even though we always provide the dimensions of our motorhome which admittedly is large. The toilets and shower block were very 'tired' and in need of cleaning and updating, although plenty of nice hot water in the shower. As we were in the motorhome we had to find food within walking distance. The Bellflower was nearest, about 5 mins walk, the food was below average. We're used to everything from 5* restaurants to good ol' Wethies, but this was just awful. We ate, went back to the campsite and went to bed. It may have been down to the time of year, but we stayed at other sites over the Christmas and New Year period and they hadn't let their standards drop. We won't be back.

This is a relatively small site. When we visited, there were only ourselves plus two other Units here. The site is clean and tidy, part of the site is a functioning Marina, so, there is a degree of interest, even at a quiet time. The marina in linked to the Lancaster Canal, so, there is Canal related interest, ie wildlife and canal boats. Facilities (ie Toilets, Showers, Washing Up area) are all kept clean and tidy. Facilities are heated, which is relevant in March! and, there is plenty of hot water. Facilities are not the most modern I have seen, but, they work perfectly well. There are washing machines, but, we did not use these so cannot comment. Relevant to Motorhomers like ourselves, it is a short walk into Garstang (less than one mile), where there is a choice of four supermarkets and something like eight pubs (I did not try all of them, honest). There are numerous eating places. Good bus service to Lancaster, Preston etc.

Arrived home last night from a three night stay on this site. We stayed there for the purpose of being able to join family, who own a narrow boat, moored in Garstang Marina - literally, through the hedge from our pitch! Staff very welcoming - informed us we could book a specific pitch for future visits. On leaving yesterday (best day, weatherwise. Typical!) I asked if we could stay beyond the designated noon departure. No problem, informed us we could stay 'til 3pm if required as site was very quiet. Noted the waterlogged grass as mentioned in previous reviews. Unfortunately hardstands are of the gravelled type and, as a past carer for a wheelchair dependent husband, this is seriously bad news as any wheelchair user/carer will state. Facilities are clean, albeit dated. We did gripe a little at the £22. 50 pn fee when facilities are in need of upgrading. One of the loos in the ladies actually separated from the wall, when sitting on it! My son grumbled about windows being open in the gents' end, rendering heating useless. Not good news during a cold, March stay. Ideally situated for Garstang itself and plenty good eateries. There is one, literally, 10 minutes walk from the site offering 2 for 1 meals. Having tested them ourselves, thumbs up to the chefs - they were delicious and excellent value. All told though, I can judge a site on whether or not I would return. Yes, if the need was there, I certainly would!

Spent the last four nights at this site, and despite the inclement weather on our last night, we had a very nice time.
The site has just reopened for the season so was really quiet and it really is a gem of a place, as others have said.
It appears that the area has had a battering weatherwise and the grass is sodden, so quickly turns to mud when walked on, the very friendly staff have done very well to keep the site in such good condition so hats off to them, one little bugbear is the chemical disposal is rather primitive, a hose and an old lavvy pan but it does the job, the toilets are very good plenty of hot water and cleaned every day so no complaints there.
All in all, a return visit is on the agenda.

This is a 2nd visit here and havent been disappointed again. A lovely friendly site not too big and only a short walk to local pubs and town (most pubs are dog friendly). Be aware though that 'not so shy' ducks and rabbits may take over your awning, not good if you have a jack russell like us! The static caravan site neighbours the touring pitches and looks to be quite 5*, and the marina is a pleasure to wander around. The only downside are the shower/toilet facilities being very dated. A spruce up of these would do well to make a 5* site.

We were directed here from another site a few miles away who advised they no longer took tourers and suggested Bridge House.
Reception in in the chandlers shop, very quick and very friendly and helpful. $10 deposit needed for barrier key onto site. Pitches large, harstanding and well spaced from each other all with ehu. Toilets and showers are fairly old but kept very clean with good hot showers. There is a full laundry room with washer, drier and iron also a washing up area.
From the site its literally a few feet onto the towpath and you can walk or cycle for miles in either direction. The site also hires out day boats for the canal with a discount if you are staying in site. We hired for a day and took the trip down to a Owd Nells for lunch (very reasonable prices and lovely home cooked food).
We absolutely loved this site, our one warning would be that reception told us fully booked weekend in the summer so try and book first so you aren't disappointed.

What a lovely gem of a site and only 40 minutes from our home. The site is part of a working marina with lots of river boats moored there as well as a beautiful section housing static caravans.
We stayed for 2 nights over a weekend and really had a lovely time. The welcome was great and staff were friendly and helpful. Our pitch was opposite the loos (we asked for this) and as there is only one toilet block that's not very central, you could be a short walk away which is fine when the weather is kind but not so when it rains hard. The toilet blocks themselves are fairly old but clean and with good facilities inside. The showers are operated through a tap with temp control for the water heat so no push button rubbish. There is a small but adequate pot wash and laundry room.
Close by to the park is a lovely 2 for 1 style pub but lovely inside and outdoor seating too. They don't allow dogs so you have to sit outside. Food is reasonable pub grub.
A lovely 15 minute walk down the tow path takes you into Garstang which is a pleasant village, we were a little disappointed by the lack of coffee shops but there were plenty of local style shops and a supermarket and a lovely pub called the Tythe Barn Inn which has plenty of outdoor seating right on the canal.
The only thing needed is a grey water drop off, there is no where for motorhomes. There seems to be no grids and when we asked, it was on there agenda to get it sorted as the warden had to lift a grid for us to drain off which wasn't great as we ended up blocking the main drive through area but apart from that, we would absolutely come back.
