This is an excellent site - the main downside being the recent storm and the fact that grassed areas of the site (dog-walk, playground, etc. ) do not drain well - it got a bit muddy.

Not a site for a quiet break - the marine boatyards are busy and generate some noise. Also, at the moment there is a new construction site on the other side of the access road, so quite a lot of construction plant noise. So those are all the negatives.

As I said, this is an excellent site with a very modern facilities block (2020) all superbly fitted out with everything needed (and an attached games room).

We had a fully serviced pitch, which was a good size and spacing. There is a small bar and café - limited opening Mon to Thu (10 - 2) and all day on Fri - Sun. Very reasonable prices, a good range of beers on tap and excellent food.

There is a very easy 15-minute walk into the centre of Garstang, either by road or canal towpath (preferred). Lots of independent shops and a market on 3-days/week - also Sainsburys and Booths supermarkets. A highly recommended site.

2nd visit here, 1st being 7 or 8 years ago maybe, anyway, enough time has passed, we've a newer van and the site has relocated and built an all singing, all dancing facilities block.

Unlike last visit where EHU was included in pitch price, now it's charged separately using an easy to follow system explained marvelously by the lady in reception and also in the booklet given on arrival. We paid £72 for 3 nights and were charged £16. 97 for electric used on top.

All in, I thought this was true value for money taking everything into consideration including the season and comparing it to some other sites we've used. I would suggest that old footwear is used when using the ehu and card meter however because the bollards are positioned on grass which was soggy and boggy after heavy rain. They would be better situated on the hardstanding or at least maybe some strategically placed stepping stones introduced.

All the external service areas and bins were tidy and kept clean. The new facilities block has Individual washrooms/wet rooms with shower, toilet and sink, some separate loo's, dishwashing and laundry rooms and an excellent modern enclosed Elsan point room. Also spotted a games room within the block.

The MH service point isn't the best for accessibility in a bigger van but its totally functional for both taking on water and disposing of waste water. There's even an Elsan point in this area.

There's a play park and also a separate dog field. The site is shared with the working marina and boat yard and also a static site is within the grounds but doesn't affect the ambience of the touring site apart from and here's my only negative. Vehicles traveling in excess of the 5mph coming off the static site through the touring site.

There's a licensed cafe/eatery on site. Also.

Love, love, love this site and would highly recommend it. It's a great base, a great stop over and a great site for a few days r&r.

Loved the site but very noisy due to building site across from camp site, people were really friendly.

Excellent distance to pubs and town but road like a race track.

Definitely visit again and staff were great but don't pitch under a tree.

A real find this one with a well appointed site and the best facilities block we've encountered up to press, nicely laid out pitches with plenty of space round each one.

There's a drive over M/home service point and a number of serviced pitches. On site is a marvelous little cafe/bistro/bar that serves excellent food and a good variety of real ales all served up with a smile and nothing seems to be too much problem for the staff.

Electric is on a meter.

You're about a 15min walk from town centre via the canal towpath and 5 min walk from a farm shop.

Our second visit this year and probably won't be the last.

Word of warning they've just started building a couple of hundred houses in the field opposite the marina entrance and the road as you can imagine is a bit of a mess even though the roadsweepers have been in operation, noise wasn't an issue.

Excellent facilities with particularly good cafe /restaurant on site.

The pitches are well placed avoiding straight lines for the most part and a good motor home service point for water and all waste.

Electricity by pre-paid card a little inconvenient needing access to reception to top up or refund.

I didn't use it as I only stayed for 2 days and left early before reception opening times.

 This site was absolutely beautiful

Very peaceful and the toilet and shower block were one of the nicest I have every seen and used.

The restaurant and bar was reasonable next to the park and it's location was ideal.

Ten minute walk along the canal into garstang
