We were directed here from another site a few miles away who advised they no longer took tourers and suggested Bridge House.
Reception in in the chandlers shop, very quick and very friendly and helpful. $10 deposit needed for barrier key onto site. Pitches large, harstanding and well spaced from each other all with ehu. Toilets and showers are fairly old but kept very clean with good hot showers. There is a full laundry room with washer, drier and iron also a washing up area.
From the site its literally a few feet onto the towpath and you can walk or cycle for miles in either direction. The site also hires out day boats for the canal with a discount if you are staying in site. We hired for a day and took the trip down to a Owd Nells for lunch (very reasonable prices and lovely home cooked food).
We absolutely loved this site, our one warning would be that reception told us fully booked weekend in the summer so try and book first so you aren't disappointed.

What a lovely gem of a site and only 40 minutes from our home. The site is part of a working marina with lots of river boats moored there as well as a beautiful section housing static caravans.
We stayed for 2 nights over a weekend and really had a lovely time. The welcome was great and staff were friendly and helpful. Our pitch was opposite the loos (we asked for this) and as there is only one toilet block that's not very central, you could be a short walk away which is fine when the weather is kind but not so when it rains hard. The toilet blocks themselves are fairly old but clean and with good facilities inside. The showers are operated through a tap with temp control for the water heat so no push button rubbish. There is a small but adequate pot wash and laundry room.
Close by to the park is a lovely 2 for 1 style pub but lovely inside and outdoor seating too. They don't allow dogs so you have to sit outside. Food is reasonable pub grub.
A lovely 15 minute walk down the tow path takes you into Garstang which is a pleasant village, we were a little disappointed by the lack of coffee shops but there were plenty of local style shops and a supermarket and a lovely pub called the Tythe Barn Inn which has plenty of outdoor seating right on the canal.
The only thing needed is a grey water drop off, there is no where for motorhomes. There seems to be no grids and when we asked, it was on there agenda to get it sorted as the warden had to lift a grid for us to drain off which wasn't great as we ended up blocking the main drive through area but apart from that, we would absolutely come back.

I stayed here with my then 5year old daughter to visit friends in Garstang. The site staff made us very welcome and let us choose the available pitches. Shower and toilet facilities are very clean, if a little dated.
There is a pub within no more than 5 minutes walk with great food too including two meals for £10.
Being a working marina it is a great opportunity to have a look at the boats that are moored and are being worked on.
Overall a great friendly site and I will be booking again for this September to view the lights in Blackpool.

Fantastic site. We have now visited this twice and still like it a lot. It is local for us (approx 20 miles away) and we think it's convenient, friendly and good value for money. The site is level and has hard-standing pitches which are well maintained.
The site is around 5 minutes walk to the local pub and 15mins into Garstang. Preston is not too far away and neither is Blackpool.
There is nothing to do on the site and hasn't got much immediately there for children. There are toilets, showers & laundry room.
The toilets aren't that clean and there is a communal towel for use to dry your hands, although I didn't really like to use it-you never know who or what it has been used for (wasn't that clean).
Overall really good site and will be visiting again.

This is a lovely little site that is handy for visiting Blackpool and Lancashire.
Although it is primarily a canal marina, it has a small area for touring caravans with hardstanding and clean, well-tended washrooms.
It also has a charming population of ducks and wild rabbits and it is nice to be able to have breakfast outside surrounded by them.
It is not too pricey and the staff are helpful.
The only minor criticism I would make is that, although it is signposted from the main A6, it is not made explicit that you need to take the very first right turn immediately after the crossroads so that it is easy to drive off down the Nateby road and not realise you've passed it.

This was our first site to visit with our new caravan and was recommended by a friend. It wasn't too far from home and was easy to find. We were located with lovely views of the marina and could see the children's play area which our 8 and 6 year olds loved. There were lots of safe areas for kids to play and explore and some lovely walks by the marina. We used the toilet block and found the facilities very clean. There are pubs a short drive away and Beacon Fell is well worth a visit if you enjoy walking. On the whole a very pleasant stay at a reasonable price and we will definitely be returning.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at this very pleasant site, right on the Lancaster canal. The marina was quite busy which we found interesting but the caravan park managed to stay quiet and peaceful. It is nicely set out with hard standing pitches with grass between and a grass perimeter.
The toilet and shower block is old but well maintained and kept very clean. The showers are free, three in both the ladies and the gents and not the push button type. There is also a pot washing room and a laundry room with a token operated washing machine and dryer.
There is a shop on site which is mainly a chandlers for the marina but does sell a few groceries and caravan spares.
There are plenty of water and bin stations around the site, I didn't see any recycling. There is no dog walk or poo bins.
The canal tow path is 2 minutes away, out of the entrance and turn right along the lane. Garstang is a very pleasant 10 - 15 minutes walk, with all the shops and pubs you will need. There is a Sainsbury's and a Co-op. We enjoyed the food at the Royal Oak Hotel and it was the only pub we found that allowed dogs in.
The ducks and rabbits around the site are a delight. The ducks enjoyed drinking from and washing in our dogs' water bowl!
This is definitely a site we would be happy to return to.

This is a very peaceful site. The Toilet/Shower block is quite small but adequate and kept reasonably clean by an outside contractor. There are hard standing and grass pitches. If you like rabbits and ducks, you will love this site. The ducks follow you everywhere. A nice 15 minute walk along the canal towpath take you into the town centre, where there is a big choice of pubs and eating places.

We have just spent a very pleasant weekend at this lovely site. We found it very quiet and peaceful, well maintained and spacious pitches.
The shower blocks are old, as stated by a previous reviewer but clean and plenty of hot water on each occasion.
Very pleasant walk into Garstang where we had a lovely lunch at Pipers on the High Street. Great value, beautifully presented food and good service.
The site is very easy to find and not far from the M6. The canal side location is great and its very easy to walk into Garstang. The reception staff were helpful and friendly.
The low score for child friendly is because we didn't have ours with us - there weren't many children on the site so perhaps a single child would not have found too many playmates. Thank you for a very relaxing weekend.

A marina site by the canalside with statics, seasonal and a field for tourers with maybe about 35 pitches.
Very nice and quiet site - no road noise and there is a children's play area at one end.
Every pitch with hardstanding and generous spacing. Very tidy site with one loo / shower / washing-up etc building. We think there may or may not be a disabled loo so check if you require this.
Reasonable analogue TV signal as at Oct '09.
Full up for the 1st w/end of Oct so it is popular - we would go again.
