This is a lovely site, very quiet and friendly staff. The showers/toilets are a bit dated but immaculately clean, which is more important. I never saw the shop open but then again we were out all day. As we are camping virgins the whole experience was brilliant and we would definatly return there for a second visit

Have just spent 5 wonderful nights here. Lovely quiet, clean, friendly site. Would recommend to anyone to give it a go. The toilets and showers were very clean and shower changing area big enough for me and two kids (big bonus for me). Play area my boys loved (ages 8 and 5) enough equipment to keep them happy. Lots of space to play footy and run around by pitch. Ample pitches for electric or without, level ground. Owners are really trying to make a difference here and they are doing a good job, will be even lovelier when finished. Also liked the security, no one comes in or out without the management knowing about it or without a security fob. Will go back there again.

I'll preface this review by saying that it was our first camping experience so we have nothing to compare it to. Although it was the first weekend of the school holidays the tent field was quite sparsely occupied. This is so even though caravans took up most of the side with hook-ups. Perhaps because of the heatwave we were experiencing at the time the field was bone dry and very hard. In fact there were two inch cracks everywhere! We struggled with bent tent pegs thinking it was due to our inexperience but a seasoned camper told us later that we had done a better job than he had! The facilities were a one or two minute walk from our field, which was the only area designated for tents. The four showers were 10p a go and decent. The toilets were always very clean with one cubicle with a sink for washing up. The shop and bar was at the front of the site about fifty yards from the loos. Next to the bar was a play area. I only ever went in the bar to get the fob needed to drive into the camp without disturbing the owners. You need a ten pound deposit for this. There was a TV screen in the bar We only got around to paying for our stay as we were leaving. We kept visiting the shop but it was never open! We checked at various times of the day but it was always shut. We had to ask where the owners lived to pay. Is this usual at sites? The site was surrounded by wheat/cornfields, very flat and a bit boring. The town of Deeping seemed devoid of even a shop. There were a couple fish and chip shops and pubs and that's about it! There was a pub half a mile away from the site called The Goat with a large, very popular beer garden and play area. We went into Stamford both evenings to Pizza Express and Ask. They're usually good, very child friendly, and were on this occasion. There was an incident on Saturday night, or rather Sunday morning, when a group of twenty or thirty somethings turned up at 3 am, proceeded to put up tents (one large one was already up but had been unoccupied for a number of days) then they sat about talking and laughing until daylight. I missed this as I wear earplugs, thankfully. A camper across hadn't slept properly because of them. Presumably they had been given a fob to get in(?) I wouldn't go again as the area is a bit uninspiring, but the site was quite tidy and had plentiful space even though peak time. It might be worth checking their policy on allowing groups in though.

A very nice friendly site mainly catering for semi permanent statics, the facilities for which are currently being expanded which at present its fair to say are a tad cramped, the facilities are a bit old but clean tidy and ample but I would expect it would be a bit stretched if the site is at full capacity, there is a play area for kids a huge rally field with EHUs, and a tiny fishing pond called the puddle (carp, tench, rudd) which is fun. The local pub 'The Goat' is a smashing pub which serves very good food and beer, but a bit restrictive on children, being only allowed within the dining area, the site also has a taxi driver permanently on site and will drive and pick you up, the local Chinese is also to be recommended. Would return

may 2004 This is a lovely site, the owners are extremely friendly, even to the point of taking us to the pub / restaurant in their own car. The site is clean and well looked after and the toilet and shower block have undergone recent refurbishment, in fact, the whole site has a programme of on-going refurbishment. The childrens play area is excellent for the under 12s and there is an on site fish and chip shop several days a week. Whilst the site is reasonably remote local attractions are only a short drive away. We would highly recommend this site and will certainly go back again and again.

July 2003 A well run small and friendly site. This is now owned and run by a young family who are working hard at improving the facilities here.
For example they have put in some great equipment in the play area and have painted up the toilet and shower blocks which, although dated to look at, are very clean and the shower water had a good consistent heat level (better than on larger and more expensive sites we've visited!). There is also a great emphasis on cleanliness around the site generally.
There is a very small on site shop which has limited opening hours (sweets, ices, bbq coals).
A security barrier system is in operation.
This is a nice little site and the children enjoyed making new friends. It was very safe for them to cycle/play due to low levels of traffic.
This site isn't perfect (there are problems with the drains and not all the elsan points were working) but doubtless the new owners will get around to amending this.
Would definitely visit again.
