Lovely campsite. Very clean shower block, toilet's also clean. As previous reviews say its like wild camping but not. Like the privacy surrounded in your own little forest. Nice shop on site. Staff friendly. Also have tourers, caravans, chalets. There is also nice kids play park. Good cycle run down towards loch inch which is stunning. Also close by is aviemore or kincraig. You can have tent pitches with or without electric hook up, also bigger open area for tents. One things for sure, will defo return soon. Fantastic area of Scotland. Highly recommend this website and the loch morlich loch inch areas.

Overall a good camping experience. I would say the static and touring caravan area was a little run down and not much privacy between unit. But the tent area was great. There was either a small field that seemed popular with families, or a little further away was a small forest which had individual plots for tents within. The spaces could easily fit 2 cars and a large tent. They are great as gives you a great level of privacy compared with any other campsite.
In regards to toilets, the toilet block was very clean and looked new. We went over a weekend and in the ladies I had to queue for the shower. This toilet block was about a 5 - 10 minute walk away, we were in one of the furthest plots away. It didn't bother me too much, but I think this could be problematic with children. The portoloos nearby were ok, but did get a bit horrible by the Sunday, it appeared they never got cleaned.
I also found the tap was a bit of a distance away, about half the distance to toilets, but I noticed the electric hook up tent plots had electricity and water. I am thinking if they have put water to there, they could extend it to the other tent area?
We never used the sink area as just washed dishes at tent area, but think it was behind the toilet block.
Overall campsite was great for us, nice and quiet and privacy was major plus. I think families with children would have to choose a plot carefully to get near toilet block.
About 10 minute drive from aviemore on a quiet road, so well suited for exploring the area.

Disappointing. Location of tent field to the toilet/shower blocks is too far! Toilet blocks located in amongst all static caravans, don't understand that, not very tent friendly. There are 4 portaloos but on our arrival they were in a terrible state, I would not want my children to use them.
Looks to be a lovely site but just not camping friendly with the trek to toilets/showers/scullery etc. We decided to leave early, albeit I have a walking disability that certainly made it less friendly than most but in the height of season I would not want to share 4 portaloos with however many tents they can accommodate :-(

We have stayed in very many campsites all over Scotland and this is definitely one of the best if not the best.
It is definitely the cheapest and best value for us: £8 for a 2 man tent with two people. The facilities are the very best we experienced: really high quality showers, hot dryers and great washing machines, good value. Just absolutely couldn't be better.
The tent camping area is really nice, up in forested area so each pitch can have maximum privacy and a wild-camping feel about it, set among the Cairngorms.
The only slight disadvantage is the tent camping area is quite a way to walk to the showers, but it didn't really bother us at all. You go down a well lit path to the lower level where the caravans are, and the facilities block is right in front of you. There are also portable loos and water taps up in the tent camping area.
We actually found this to be good as it kept us away from all the caravans and noise, and offered a really peaceful wild camp experience while all the facilities of an excellent campsite.
On the location: beware of the postcode and sat navs: ours took us to a totally incorrect place in the middle of Aviemore. You really need directions to get to this campsite which is a big disadvantage if you are on the hop, so ring them up if you have trouble.
The campsite is not in Aviemore itself, but several miles outside into the forested areas. However it's easy to get to facilities in Aviemore, restaurants etc.
Overall, can't recommend this campsite enough.

This was by far one of the most beautiful campsites we have stayed in. Deer walking past your tent in the evening was one of the high lights for the kids but not so good if your not used to rustling in the bushes from wild animals.
We had electrical hook ups with cold water tap and were in at the end of a row of the 9 larger tent pitches which over looked the field for non hook up tents. It wasn't a very busy weekend so the kids could play ball games in the field.
It was a 5 minute walk to the Toilet/Shower block and they well well maintained and very clean. For during the night there are portaloos around the pitches, not very attractive as we were pitched in front of 4 of them and had doors banging throughout the nights but needs must. We did complain about the state of the portaloos as no one seemed to clean them, only to check they still had liquids. In fact we cleaned them ourselves 2 out of the 4 days we were there, it took no time at all and we felt better about letting the kids use them.
The staff were friendly, had great local knowledge and kept a well stocked shop.
There was a great playground for children and ours took to hanging out there ages 6-14, 7 of them and they met and made friends with lots of others of their age.
It's 10 mins by car to Aviemore easy to find and is now on our must get back there list.
We will however request one of the electrical pitches behind the field as they will be quieter.

We stayed here on the first night of a Motorhome tour around Scotland, at the end of August (2012). This was our first such holiday and so the Dalraddy Holiday Park was to be our first ever experience of staying in a campsite (as well as our first Scottish holiday).
We had originally hoped to book somewhere either in, or nearer to Aviemore, only to find everywhere fully booked due to a Harley Davidson rally taking place in town over the weekend. Looking back, the short drive to town was more than made up for by our experience of the site and as things worked out, we spent a very pleasant evening in town surrounded by hordes of the leather clad hairy ones - who turned out to be very good company.
The Dalraddy Holiday Park is nestled in the middle of a valley with a railway line at one side and the main A9 road somewhere off to the other. We were only just dimly aware of either during our stay.
The location was relatively easy to find given the vagaries of the satnav/postcode system in Scotland.
The site looks to be set in a wood as you approach, giving it a very pleasant appearance. The tree canopy opens up once you get in and the overall effect is of light dappled shade across the site, which we thought was just right. Serious sun worshippers will need to pick their pitch carefully though.
The welcome at reception was warm, friendly, patient and helpful (not to be underestimated when you are newbies like us!).
We were given a pitch next to the playground which meant we could overlook our two children while they made the most of the facility. They soon made friends and had a great time. Definite thumbs up there!
All of the facilities were in a single building at the centre of the site. This large building was divided in half for male and female showers and WC's (which we now know is standard) and also had laundry and wash-up facilities doubled up.
The WC's and showers were well maintained, spotlessly clean and had plenty of space. Shower cubicles were a good size and the water supply was both hot and powerful enough to please most tastes I should imagine. We did not use the Laundry and Wash-up facilities but they appeared to be well equipped and well maintained just like the rest of the building.
Grey water and waste water facilities were easy to find and use with no issues being experienced by this first-timer.
The site reception includes a shop for most essentials as far as we could see.
Everywhere appears clean, tidy and very well kept with a general air of calm that is very relaxing. Overall we were very impressed and hope to return in the not too distant future.
Dalraddy Holiday Park proved to be a fantastic first experience of ‘camping’ for our family.

Just returned from here and we had a fantastic time, the site is VERY good, excellent staff at check-in, grounds-staff friendly and even the cleaner was perpetually cheerful.
Shower block is well designed and thought out with just about enough of everything (including liquid hand soap) to cope with a busy summer weekend. Tent field is large, never overfull, We were at the south end without an EHU, bright and fairly level, not too stony. Amazing views!
Play park is excellent, all our kids loved it. As it's near the main entrance and not visible from the tent area younger kids might need to be accompanied.
I'd like to contradict some previous reviews, The water in the showers IS hot and powerful but not a problem for me or anyone in our party of 10.
The walk to the shower/washing up block is by NO means a 'trek' though it is down into the valley of statics via a set of steps, lit at night, through the trees.
The portaloos are serviced every morning as far as I could tell on our 3 night weekend stay and they can be out of paper before the next morning, thay have a hand sanitiser dispenser in each unit.
Just a few minutes drive into Aviemore itself with it's Tesco's and huge choice of outdoor equipment shops. I'd also like to recommend visiting the Highland Folk Museum at Newtonmore (opposite direction from Aviemore) as it's free very informative and 6 hours is not enough to fully explore everything.

This was the first site we visited when my son and I came to Scotland. The facilities were very good, and the staff were very polite and helpful.
It is a site that is excellent for any family unit, and many had dogs (which we like!)
It has a very relaxed atmosphere, and the facilities, especially the toilets and shower block, were kept in immaculate condition at all times, and was certainly the best of any of the sites we subsequently stayed at.
The shop had the basics and a computer with free internet connection, but it could have been better stocked with various other items, which is the only reason I have marked lower on site facilities. However there is a Tesco only a couple of miles away in Aviemore.
All in all, it probably provided the best value for money in all the time we spent in Scotland, and we will certainly be staying again in the future. Well done Dalraddy Holiday Park!

Just came back from three nights at Dalraddy. Stayed with my toddler in our own tent and another family with 10 year old boy who were pitched opposite us.
Loved the layout for tents that didn't need electrical hook ups. Each pitch was sheltered by surrounding pine trees on three sides which made it quite private and gave you your own space. There was a main field for pitching but couldn't understand why anyone would pitch there when the single pitches were so secluded.
It was a bit of a walk to the main toilet and shower block. Didn't mind as we had such good weather. There are portaloos dotted around the site and were in variable states of cleanliness. The shower block was clean and showers were good enough and free.
The site was quiet and family friendly with a decent playground. However on our last night there were three different groups of young people drinking and playing loud music. This was around teatime and was dreading a sleepless night so went and spoke the staff at reception. The warden did his/her regular rounds and there was no further trouble.
I did find the rates rather expensive as they charge per size of tent. So as I was one adult with a toddler I didn't benefit. If there are number of you in one tent it was definitely value for money.
The site is in a good area of Scotland with amazing scenery and loads to do for all the family. I would go back but share a tent with my friends.

We phoned up early in the week to make a booking for the weekend and then again the day before we were planning our trip.
We were informed that there was no booking but a pitch would be available for us.
When we arrived on the Friday afternoon the site was full. As were all the other campsites in the area (which isnt Dalraddy's fault).
There was also 3 other families at trying to get a pitch at the same time who had been guaranteed a pitch.
After driving 3 hours with 2 young kids it wasn't ideal and even more stressful.
I think the site need to start a booking system as we wont be trying to get in again as its very inconvenient.
The site seemed ideal for us and does look good from the entrance but unfortunately the customer service wasn't really there.
It was a nice weekend but if they can't reassure you a pitch then they shouldn't say so.
