This site is a few miles from Aviemore, but not comfortable walking distance, and cycling is along a busy, winding road without a cylce path. It is mostly set amongst trees, with decent enough facilities, which include a very good children's play area and shop - (which sells local meats, and alcohol).
The tent campers seem to have the nicest part of the site - secluded pitches in among shrubs, with views of the surrounding hills, though they have furthest to walk to the toilet/shower block. I would have gladly swapped.
We were placed in the darkness of the trees, among statics, mobile homes and caravans, on a hard standing pitch with electric, even though we didn't need it, and had to tie our awning to the trees, because the pitch was too stony for pegs. The pitches were also very close together. There was a slightly claustrophobic feeling about the place.
The good thing was being close enough to the play area that we could see our son playing in it. Overall, I would recommend this site for families. My biggest gripe is that the place seemed to be busy all day with the constant coming and going of traffic, and a lot of drivers did not keep to the 5 mile an hour speed limit.

Spent 4 lovely days here. There are loads of secluded pitches for tents, off two different access roads. All are a bit further from the toilet block than the open tent field.
The views are fabulous from the tent areas, although I imagine as all the fir trees that separate the individual pitches grow a bit taller, that could be compromised?
We took the kids bikes and they had a ball cycling around the park. The play park is excellent and still looks as good as new.
Toilet and shower block was immaculate, but it is a bit of a treck from the tents - be warned, especialy with young children who may leave it too late to tell you they need the loo.
The discount vouchers for the Cairngorm railway only knock 5% off the price - so don't panic if you forget to pick them up before you head off to Cairngorm!
There is plenty of scope for long walks with the dogs, and noise intrusion from the road and the train line is absolutely minimal.
Larger tents may struggle to find a secluded pitch big enough to take their tent and car.
We had a fabulous time here and we will definitely be back.

Was quite disappointed with this site. The ground on the field was quite uneven trying to find a big enough flat space for our coleman 500 wasn't too easy. There is a walk from the tent field to the toilet block that hoses the showers and dish washing and laundry area. There are toilets at the tent field but they are port-a-loos without lights(not ideal for those who get up at 2am. Unless you ski or walk not much in surrounding area. Was very disappointed at the so called fishing either too expensive, only by boat or a pond in the middle of a field. Ended up fishing at Rothiemurkus. Good there was a shop which was quite well stocked.

Spent three nights here while on a walking holiday around Scotland. This was my first camping trip, but this campsite was the best of the four that I visited, and very good value for money.
The tent area is situated on higher ground to the rest of the park, which means great views of the hills to the north, and I imagine less midges in the summer (there were none around during my stay in June).
The toilet block was very good. Hot showers, clean toilets, laundry and washing up area. The shop has most of the essentials, although tin openers were £4 each. But that's market forces I suppose.
I'll definitely be returning here when I next visit the area.

Just back from a 2 night stay at this site, Our first of many ! We were intending using another one in the area but it was full up.Lucky for us. The campsite was very well laid out with private more secluded pitches among trees and a larger more open field.
Toilets, shower and washing up areas were all very clean and well maintained at all times of the day.
Very friendly and informative staff in the shop/reception area which is close to the children's play area which we did not use but plenty others did and seemed to be having a great time.
One criticism is the distance from the toilet block to the pitches not really a problem through the day but a bit of a trek at night.

Just back from easter weekend at Dalraddy caravan park and overall was very impressed.
The pitches are well marked out and secluded in the trees. The toilet blocks are warm and spotlessly clean. There is an excellent play area for children.

This caravan park is very good. We stayed in the winter so the toilet facilities were of utmost importance as well as the washing up facilities. The block both are housed in is right up to date and is kept very warm. The washing up facility is inside which makes all the difference when it drops to -10 as you are doing the washing up.
The approach road is a major A road so there is no problem except in the very worst weather.
All pitches have electric hook up and are reasonably level however we have stayed at this park twice and both times the pitch had a relatively steep access. If you are not expert in car manouvres (which I am not) or have a motor mover(which I do)make sure you inspect the pitch before trying to put the 'van on in case you need extra help.
There is a great little park for the kids near the entrance and a great walk for the dog which is easily accessable from the site.
The site shop is staffed well and open when you need it and is well stocked with the sort of stuff you want.
Obviously this park is in the middle of a stunning area of Scotland with more activities than you can list but for us the Cairngorm Mountain for the skiiing and the Landmark Centre for playing were the highlights.
Cautionary note - Our pitch was positioned on section which required us to go around the back of the wash block in a one way system. A combination of my inexperience in towing, a new caravan and a strange shape of building meant it did around £200 damage to the side of the caravan.
If you are not experienced send some one up the road to stop traffic and drive directly up the road to your pitch.
Overall a great site with helpful staff in a must visit part of the world

We stayed her for 3 nights in November. The shower/toilet block is brand new. The showers are push button and not adjustable. You have to leave the shower to run for a few minutes to get the water hot.Free hairdriers. There are a lot of new static caravans on site.Cabins for rent at end of site. We were just a few steps from the loo block but I think I agree if you were in the tent field it would be a walk to the block. Cleaned every morning at 8 o'clock. The water pipes outside froze because it was -7 degrees on Sunday. All the caravans are dotted about the site in between small trees.Brand new play park on site. Barrier closed 11.30 pm to 7 am at night. Shop on site. Park is 3 miles from Aviemore. A small Tesco there, also pubs and cafes and some shops.£14 for a pitch with EHU, hard standing stone pitch. No charge for dogs.Would visit again.

Stayed for 3 nights and found this to be a good site with well-laid out and nice pitches for tents separated by baby fir trees in most cases - although there is also a 'communal area'.
Campsite staff were very helpful in directing us to local attractions (including issuing discount vouchers).
Toilet and washing facilities were clean and well-laid out. There was some problems with water boiler while we were there which meant no hot water for a while. My only criticism was that it was quite a trek to the toilet block - we eventually invested in a water carrier, but washing up became a real chore.
There is a decent playpark for the kids a decent distance from the tents.
Would definitely use the site again, but this site would definitely benefit from a second toilet block placed more advantageously for the tented area.

Just back from a 3 night stay at Dalraddy. The facilities were really good at this campsite. Toilet/Shower block very very clean and well maintained. Showers only one heat which was hot. Children play park brand new and kept all kids amused. Lovely secluded camping pitches on site, unfortunately we had to camp in the large field at top of site but this did have adequate room even on the Friday night when another 10 tents arrived. Cars are allowed beside tents, also 2 portaloo's on camping field. Very quiet campsites(everyone seemed to abide by the no noise between 2200-0800hrs) with no open fires allowed. Only noise was from the train which ran closed by. Lots of dogs. Reception a bit undermanned and welcome rushed - but all information given in printed sheet. Also discount vouchers for Landmark and Cairngorm railway.
Would definitely recommend this campsite and will definitely go back.
