This site is kept immaculate all praise to the wardens, who were lovely gave us loads of information which we used. Two minute walk to the village the locals were really friendly.
Great base for the buses, walking, cycling etc., shopping whatever you prefer. Lovely pubs close by.My only down comments would be the facilities could do with updating the shower cubicles whilst clean are a little small.
A little expensive for what there was ( I only paid £15.00) last year for a site with fabulous disabled facilities etc.,
Would go again.

We visited this site for two nights (Friday & Saturday), managed to get a late booking – after ringing round 15 other sites in the vicinity that were fully booked.
When we arrived the warden seemed fairly vacant about the booking which was unnerving! After being asked whether I’d completed a booking form – no it was a telephone booking 4 days ago…what size tent did I have – a 5 person tunnel tent with a new front extension …did I quote you a price – yes £15 plus £4 for EHU….Get the picture??? We were shown to our pitch. Not as sloping as some of the site but very uneven ground with not a lot of space! Our guy ropes were over lapping the tent next door!
Ten minutes after putting the tent up the warden appears and tells us that we don’t have a £15 a night tent, its actually £20 plus £4! Although we hadn’t exceeded the boundary he gave us. Not a good start….
The site was kept clean, the toilets and shower block were ok, but as said in previous reviews could do with a deep clean! I wouldn’t recommend the use of the single toilet on the touring site….Unless you like spiders and cobwebs hanging.
When I booked the site I checked if dogs were allowed – and yes they are but you can’t take them to the pot washing/toilet/shower facilities which are on the static caravan part of the site. I did find this strange as you can’t leave the dog on his own but you can’t take him with you to wash the pots!
Not a site I would hurry back to although the area is lovely!
The village is beautiful and the people are very friendly. We didn’t venture into the Samual Fox pub/restaurant next to the site as they aren’t dog friendly. The Olde Bowling Green Inn does fantastic food, but if you have a dog you can’t take it inside or sit on the back garden but relegated to one of the 3 benches in the car park which is a shame. In fact, there were too many ‘no dogs allowed’ signs all over the village – such a shame.
Should you forget anything or need anything (try making a coffee and eating cereal with wooden cooking spoons!) I definitely recommend High Peak Heating Supplies in Bradwell. It’s like an Aladdin’s Cave – very helpful.

Stayed here for just 2 nights at tail end of bank holiday - very quiet and peaceful. Plenty of space and tent pitched near enough to toilet and shower block - these always clean and well stocked day and night.
Use of freezer for cold blocks was a must for the hotter days and plenty of hot water for washing up. Close by within 5 - 10 mins walk a fully stocked Co-op supermarket, post office and fantastic bakers - delicious filled rolls! Even closer a playground area and field with football goals which helped the 'no ball' rule of the camp site.
Close to all key places in that part of the Peaks and somewhere we would definitely return to.
Constant low level 'hum' from nearby cement works was only noticeable at the dead of night when no other sounds!

An excellent site and highly recommended. I'd been before so knew what to expect and it didn't disappoint: hot water, clean, tidy, nice and quiet on the night and helpful staff.
The site is situated not far from Edale really and close to all the pleasures of the Peak District -there is some amazing walking to be had, and I went on 17th of April and it was a cracking day. But having checked out a couple of sites in Edale, Eden Tree always seems a little less quiet, and all the better for it.
If anyone is visiting the Peak District get yourself to this site, you won't be disappointed.

This was our first outing and we found it very enjoyable and relaxing, we would definitely return to this site.
As it was our first time we followed the directions that were given from the virtual map, we will not use this again as it fetched us the long way round from our address.
The pub at edge of the site is really nice, try the belly pork with noodles it was delightful.
We will take with us some walking boots and proper outdoor clothing because some of the scenery is outstanding and they have lots of caves to explore, with guides of course.
As we don't have small children we didn't see the playground, but the toilet blocks and showers were clean and the water was very hot.
When we used this site for the weekend it was very busy but the showers you were never queuing for.
It was a shame there was a lot of rain as there was a carnival in the village( remember for next year)and it would have been lovely to see all the participants on their floats.

We went during half term, after the bank holiday and although we had a (semi-)hardstanding, the tents really were packed in, and yet the static field was empty. The manager said it was the owner's policy to put the tourers in the side field .
What surprised me most was that the manager insisted on cash only payment - he said they cannot accept cards, so be warned if you go for a long stay - take cash to pay!

We have just returned from a week's stay here in a large tent.
There are many positives to this site so I will start there;
* location - In the heart of the Peak District, absolutely stunning scenery, lots to do round and about, you can't help but be impressed.
* curfew - no noise after 11pm, despite the fact it was heaving
* unlimited hot and cold running water in showers and washing up facilities ie showers and taps that stayed on and no 20p coins required
* best showering experiences whilst camping so far
* tidiness - site generally free from litter although bins regularly over flowing
* wildlife - lots of rabbits and birds etc A pond with fish and my little boy loved looking for all the hidden garden ornaments dotted about by residents.
*fantastic (if expensive) pub metres away from park entrance.
Also worth mentioning is that the cement works (which I discovered using Google Earth after making my booking) were a complete non-issue. You can't see them from the site (unless you really, really try) and we were not disturbed by noise.
Ok so the negatives;
* The pitch - location right by the car park and the road, it was on a pretty steep slope with a gutter that dissected the pitch horizontally and was a frequent tripping hazard and put undue pressure on the tent seams. I know the pitch mentioned in the previous review with the water tap behind it and that must have been awful , as it was it was pretty awkward having to go behind someone's unit (in my case right behind their bedroom pod) to fill up with water. Quality of the grass was also poor.
* Fire safety and claustrophobia - IMO the tents were completely packed in like sardines, particularly at the weekend. There was only a 1.5m gap between our tent and the one next door (not inc guys) and we were practically in the road at the other side. The tent on the other end of the row (the one by the dustbins at the water tap) was practically in the hedge. It was like being camped out in a car park. This was in stark contrast to the luxurious idyll where the static caravan owners were sited. It was all bunny rabbits, butter cups and tennis courts over the other side of the hedge.
*toilet block - regularly running low or completely out of toilet paper. Actual facilities themselves ok (all in working order) but the whole block could do with more regular cleaning and a really good DEEP clean. Flowers on window caked with dust, an elderly blue teddy bear candle bleached white on one side from the sun, cobwebs all over the lights, wilting tourist information leaflets scattered about, general grime in harder to clean areas like around toilet cubicle doors.
*No room for little boy to run and play due to the cramped conditions around the tent and ball games not allowed (again this applies mostly thurday - sunday).
I thought it was expensive for £20 a night (with EHU) considering the standard of pitch and comparing it to other sites we have visited.

We stayed at this site on mayday bank holiday. When we arrived the warden assisted us with our caravan as most of the pitches are on a slope and difficult to level. The site was heaving and overcrowded and this meant the toilets and the 3 showers were constantly in use or toilet paper free. We also have dogs and although this site is in the lovely peak district the area surrounding the site as well as the village of Bradwell are not very dog friendly with signs all over saying 'no dogs allowed'. Have to say I don't think we will return in any great hurry as not a site for us.

We arrived late evening the Thursday before the start of the Easter Weekend. The warden was extremely friendly and showed us to our pitch.
The site was already over flowing more than the 24 pitches allocated on the site map.
Unfortunately our pitch wasn't in the best position. Behind us we had the car park and the fresh water tap, to our immediate left we had the gravel path to the toilet block and the light which lit the way at night, to the toilet block and then there were the metal dustbins, also right next to the tent.
We heard no noise from the cements works, but plenty of noise from the main road, which is about 3 minutes walk from the site, especially noisy at night.
Children were not allowed to play ball games in the main camping field. But did get away with playing ball games / frisbee in the static field.
Toilet block were OK considering it had been an extremely wet weekend. Plenty of hot water and never busy considering the site was overflowing.
Site is conveniently located for Castleton, the caverns, Matlock, Buxton.
If you ever have the chance walk up to Mam Tor and the paragliders, its worth it.
If you like to be kept to yourself then this is the campsite for you, it suited us fine. But unfortunately our tent wasn't in the best location.
Would probably look for a site which is even more off the beaten track next time.

We turned up with no booking - warden said no problem and gave us a hardstanding as felt we might get stuck in muddy grass. Very friendly warden - several other late arrivals were found spaces with no fuss.
Site was kept very clean and tidy - shower block immaculate. Nice touches with flowers / magazines in block.
Would we stay again? yes - great site - worth visiting.
Pub at the T Junction as the top of the lane serves the best food going - cheap and plentiful.
