Stopped here for two nights. Very helpful and friendly warden. Shower / toilet block in field near static vans, so a little walk away from touring field. Pitches a bit close together and at £15 per night a little bit more expensive than other sites we've stayed at, but made up for by friendly warden and the pub nearby (New Bath Inn).

Having read all the very favourable comments posted previously.. Yes, it is extremely clean and tidy and in a wonderful situation, I agree with all that, but...
It felt like we were on the edge of a car park, as cars have to be parked in an area aside from the tents and vans. Also, most of the pitches are on quite a steep slope. I don't understand why no one else has mentioned this as a negative

An excellent site. The entry on here gives just twenty pitches, but there are far more than that. There appears to be a "new" grassed area which may have increased the size since the initial entry was made on here. I didn't count the units, but I would estimate a least sixty and the was still room even though the owner had put up a "site full" notice. I walked on with my rucksack on my back at 4PM on Saturday, found the very pleasant owner, and the tent was up and the kettle on within fifteen minutes. Just £3.50 a night for backpackers.
There are four pubs in Bradwell and three of them are within ten minutes walk from the site, although two are well hidden in the old village which slopes up from the main road. However, the nearest pub is just thirty seconds from the site entrance, sells real ale, cheap food, and had live entertainment on Saturday night.
Add a regular (and late) bus service from the entrance running to Castleton (via Hope) in one direction and Sheffield the other and it was a very good weekend.

We visited this site 15th -19th July. The site is in a great location on edge of Bradwell, a lovely village and a short walk into Hope. It was strange that the shower block was in the field where there were no campers, only static vans.
On the Saturday night there were two large groups, who were making lots of noise into the early hours, the owners didn't take any steps to deal with it. I think it was so bad that some campers went home early. Sunday and Monday night were nice and quiet. As usual the kids had a great time, even though there are no facilities provided for them.

Just returned from this sit after 4 days in a large tent. It is a very nice site with very clean facilities. The touring field lower end is the flattest. The only negative side to the site is that the space for the children to play is limited when the site is full. There is no real grassy area for them to run about on as the owners don't like the children playing near to the static vans (where the open grassy bit it is!) Apart from that though the site gets a thumbs up. Well done

July 2004 This is a lovely site with really cheerful, helpful owners. The campsite is split into two fields - the first has around 20 or so tent/touring pitches, plus about another 15 or so that look as though they're pitched for the season, then a larger separate field for static vans. Pitches are mainly around the edge of the field and are marked with pegs so everyone gets their own allocated space. The shower, toilet & pot washing block is in the field with the static vans. Hot water is free and plentiful, and the whole building is clean and well looked after. There are a handful of pubs in the village, the nearest one right at the entrance to the site, which does good value meals (served until 8.15pm). Checkout time is 12 o'clock, and on Sundays they allow you to "linger longer"! A good base for exploring the area and some lovely views to look at from the comfort of your tent!

August 2003 Pretty site in a very good location for exploring and walking. The site was full when we visited, but there was never a queue for the free showers, which very clean as were the toilets! There is unlimited hot water in the washing up room. There is a pub about a minutes walk away which served good pub grub for great prices. The children had sausage, chips and beans for £1.50!
