 Just returned from 2 nights camping in a tent. Loads of fields to camp in, and allowed to have open fires. Plenty of space to choose from. Farmer comes round every day selling bags of wood for £5, although scavenging for dead wood is permitted. Camping is £5 per person per night. There are toilets but NO shower (although it would be nice to have one ;-). Toilets are very clean, but take your own loo roll. Views are stunning and couldn't think of a nicer place to spend a few days relaxing.
Farmer asked us to say that he is open June to July and has plenty more than 10 pitches!

This is the second time we have stayed at Steeple Leaze . It really is the most relaxed, beautiful location with loads of space for kids to run and explore.
The facilities are simple, but perfectly adequate. Showers would make a difference and possibly extend stays.
A big plus was the freedome to use open fires. Logs can be bought from the farmer who does evening tours on his quad bike with his sheep dog haning on. My son learnt alot from seeing the fires lit safely and used for cooking. The best egg and bacon ever tasted resulted from an early morning fire!
I would recommed this site, but don't all turn up as it is a secret corner of real England.

Have just returned from a night at Steeple Leaze Farm after being recommended it by a friend. Not disappointed. Huge fields so lots of space to find a spot not too close to anyone. Camp fire a huge bonus, the owner came round on a Quad bike selling wood. The facilities are very basic but you can shower & wash up. Take your own loo roll! Will definitely go back.
