As regular users of this campsite, I would like to agree with Mick S in his comments about previous reviews. Linda is a lovely lady, proud of her site and her reputation. The entry arrangements are not a problem once you have become known to her as Mick says. We are more than happy with these arrangements and know that our stay is going to be a pleasant, relaxing one, and our camper and belongings safe. The showers have never been a problem for us even when the site has been busy. There are four showers in total and the accessible bathroom can be used by all. All facilities on site are spotlessly clean, the cleanest we have seen. There is no shortage of bins and recycling is encouraged. The description of Little Orchard on UK Campsites is accurate and I feel that people complaining about the lack of a shop, no facilities for children etc should have looked at this description before booking if that is the sort of site they need.
If you are looking for a well maintained and quiet site then Little Orchard is for you. Linda, the owner, is very accommodating and any concerns about the site, noise etc, will always be dealt with promptly. We have been many times and will continue to do so. It is heaven in a mad world!

What can I say about little orchard caravan park
Well here we go from the first phone call to the
Last day it was fantastic this was our first time there it will not be our last
Linda was very friendly and made you feel very welcome the toilet and shower blocks were very clean and well stocked with the things you would expect to find in there the site was well set out very quiet perfect for us as we prefer it that way not to far from blackpool and lytham st anns garage and pub and restaurant very close by
No shop on site but no problems with that with shops being so close to site highly recommended
We will visit again many thanks to linda and her staff
ps not many children on site would possibly be too quiet for most children

This was our 2nd visit of this year added to our 3 visits last year and the site owner Linda has kept her standards.
If you want a shop and games and play areas then don't bother but if you want peace and quiet and squeeky clean facilities then this is the place for you.
The nearest pub is about 20 minutes walk away and there is a Shell garage about the same distance so as long as you arrive prepared you will enjoy yourself.

This is our third visit here, and it wont stop at three!
Although ive already left a review for Little Orchard a couple of years ago, I feel I must leave another given some of the content of an earlier reviewer.
Yes, the entry method may be a little unorthodox, but, the owner is only 'collecting' before you actualy enter. Many's the time ive rolled onto a site and had to cough up there and then.
The difference here is that should you appear 'undesirable' to Linda, the owner, you just don't get on site - its as simple as that. The entry is locked 24/7 - with all campers having their own key, for security. And I for one don't have a problem with that. Its just that there is no shop or office etc. On site, so you pay as you enter as opposed to going onto the site, then paying.
Once you are accepted and become 'known' to the owner, you then have the opposite 'problem'. As she will not come looking for pitch fees (which stand at £16.50 inc EHU), till you are ready to leave - and may have to 'summon' her to part with your cash!
If this all sounds convoluted and hard work - it really isnt at all. Its just that she strives to keep peace and harmony on site, by keeping those who she feels may disrupt it, firmly on the other side of the locked gate.
This is why I find it hard to understand why one reviewer was seemingly on the wrong end of what certainly isnt worn by the owner, ie. Disruptive behaviour by other campers. I can guarantee (and I have no conection to the site or the owners), that had this 'problem' been reported, it would have been dealt with extremely quickly and efficiently. This is not to say campers are dissuaded from having a drink and a laugh, far from it. We sample a beer and share a joke well into the night, but are not obnoxious with it - there is a difference.
The showers are now indeed 50p a throw - which surprises me! As there is never a queue, and so few tents, that I cant see how the site actualy makes any money from the venture, and have to wonder if it was worth installing the kit, but there you go. You get a good ten minutes of hot water, and although there is only the one shower in each - immaculate set of loos, there is a third (disabled) facility, and a fourth ladies/gents (either/or) round the corner of the block. Hence there's never a queue!
Theres very little to do for kids here, and the nearest pub/restaurant is a good 15 min walk, or five minute drive. The place is easy to find/get to off the M55 and is in a sheltered location.
If you want a relaxed no-hassle break, this is the place to go. Indeed, given the number of repeat visits they get, it must be an open secret by now!

Found the site clean and in lovely countryside, also it was easy to get to and from Blackpool. However, found manner of check in to the site a little unusual the owner arriving by car to pick up site fees at the barrier! The new shower/toilet block was very clean, the downside to it was there was only one shower which cost 50p, the size of the site taken into account, it may be more of a problem at the height of the season when there may be more campers. Nothing for children to do at all, there was a small grass area at back of caravans, but tents also pitched there, so playing area may be restricted. There is no shop on site. This site is great for couples and older campers who want to chill out, having said that we had to put up with a gang of campers in pitch next door who seemed to take over entire corner of site, including ours, with tents, caravan and cars, thinking site catering for quiet couples etc, a little disappointed about this.

This is the third time we have been to this site this year and every visit has been a pleasure, Linda the owner is very nice and friendly, and couldn't be more helpful. This site is maintained to a high standard and caters for what I would describe as normal campers, ie no riffraff etc. The amenities are very good with the toilet and shower block within easy reach and very well kept, all the other facilities water sewage etc are well marked and within easy reach. There is a pub along the Kirkham road which serves an excellent carvery at an incredible £3.25 and if you fancy fish and chips there is a cracking place in Kirkham which also has a Morrisons store. This site is about 20 minutes drive from Blackpool and is easily accessed from the motorway or the A6. I would rate this site very highly if you want a nice quiet holiday in ideal surroundings.

We spent 3 nights on this nice quiet site. Linda the site owner is very helpful and friendly despite her fearsome reputation and she quite rightly is particular about the type of people she lets on to her site, with it being so close to Blackpool she doesn't allow any stag or hen groups. The site is very secure with a key operated barrier.
The toilets and showers are immaculately kept and free, although there is only 1 shower for each sex. This isn't too much of a problem because it is only a small site. The site is ideally situated for Blackpool, Fleetwood and Lytham.
It is not really child friendly as there are no facilities for children and not a lot of room for them to play, but for couples who just want to chill out it is ideal.
The only down side for us was the pitches were all hard standing and we prefer to have our awning at least on grass and it was quite difficult to manoeuvre onto as Linda didn't want us to drive across the grass in case it churned up so we had to unhook the van and with the help of some other visitors push it onto the pitch, had there been no-one to help we would have struggled.
All in all a very well kept little site in a nice location and lots of cheap eateries within a 3 minute drive.

My OH phoned to book and was frightened to death by the 20 questions thrown at her by the owner!
We arrived with some reservations only to be greated by a warm friendly lady who explained she only wants 'decent' people staying there.
The site was superb. It was clean and tidy all round and the other visitors were very friendly.
There is no shop or play area and the nearest pub is a good walk away(other reviewers state 15 minutes but we walked for over 20 minutes and were no where near a pub)but that doesn't matter as long as you go prepared you will have a perfect stay.
We would and will be going again.

We smiled at previous reviews about having to pass muster to gain admission to this site. After meeting a little lady in a red Rover we soon felt this to be true. The lady turned out to be Linda the owner who issued us with a gate key and a photocopied list of local amenities. We were told to 'follow me' and we were shown to our pitch. It was made clear that she is very selective as to who she wants staying here and what was expected of the selected few!
A lovely lady who is rightly proud of her park.
Pitches are all hard standing so take plenty of rock pegs if you are putting up an awning, as it can get quite breezy.
The toilet block is spotless with plenty of hot water. There is only one shower per sex, but even on a busy bank hol. Weekend this was not a problem. The toilet block can be seen from most pitches. So a careful watch and good timing can pay dividends!
Try the Blue Anchor pub for its carvery. 3 slices of meat and as much veg as you want for a staggering £3.25 per head is amazing value.
For anglers there is a commercial fishery next door. Day tickets cost £7 per day.
All in all a secure, clean, well run site. Good value for money at £15.50 p.N.
Yes we will be going back again.

Just returned from a relaxing 3 day trip with our friends who were in a caravan with children and we were in our tent.
The site is very secure and you cannot gain access until let in by Mrs johnson (a quick call when your at the gate) who is very friendly and sociable. Nothing was too much and we were made to feel most welcome.
The ground rules are made very clear on arrival and she clearly has very high standards and wants ALL residents to have an enjoyable and peaceful time. You can be assured no Riff Raff, stag do or groups will be partying here.
The facilities are immaculately clean, my only observation would be if the site was fully occupied you may have a wait for a shower as there is only two on site (+ disabled toilet) but this is no major hinderence.
There is a garage with the usual amenites, a pub and Indian restaurant within 15 minutes walk or 10 mins down the road is a supermarket.
To sum it up if you want tranquility/peace and relaxation without any hassle then this is a lovely place to be. We will certainly be returning.
