Greeted by the owners on arrival, very helpful even though it was throwing it down. They came out to make sure we were ok. The camp site was easy to find and very well laid out. Hot water to do the washing up, even washing up liquid was provided. The toilet and showers were very clean and very well located close to the tented area. Plenty of toilet paper and hand towel and soap provided.
The village was within walking distance although only 1 pub called the Plough Inn that opened not before 12 o'clock but the food and drink was exellent. No shops in the village. Shops in the next village not to far in the car.
The Lake is well stocked with fish and pleasant to walk around, has lots of lilies.
Around the area is lots of very good walks through country lanes and wooded areas well sign posted so you don't get lost. Would definitely go back again.

We were fairly new to camping and picked Conifer Lake because it just sounded nice, Alan likes to fish so it seemed ideal. Being more 'mature' campers, an adult only site is a big bonus.
When I called to book, Graham was so friendly and welcoming, and by then I just knew it was the right place for us.
On arrival we were greeted warmly by Dave (thanks Dave!)and it was such a relief (in more ways than one!)to find a fantastic shower and toilet block which are kept in immaculate condition with even a mop and bucket, so people can be responsible enough to help keep it clean.
The camp site is well spaced out and all the grasses and greenery are kept in perfect condition by Graham and Alison, who are total workaholics but still know how to stop and fish, (well, Alison puts me to shame!) The lake is stunningly beautiful, preserving wildlife and horticulture.
Although there are no shops on site, (and this can sometimes be a good thing), there is a little pub, 5 minutes drive away which do a rare Sunday dinner and not overly expensive, 10 minutes sees you into Pocklington, lovely little small town, where you can find Sainsbury's or the Co-op.
The best review we can give this place and the warm, welcoming generosity of the owners and family is simply to go and see for yourselves.
It is by far the best getaway we had for a long time, and we cannot wait to get back.

The views and the lake look like fairy tale scenery (beautiful). Although we only stayed for 1 night we are planning to return in a few weeks to stay for a week so we can fish in the lake.
Everyone was really friendly and we are keeping in touch with a lovely couple we met there who are also returning to the site.
The owners Graham and Alison make a point of welcoming their visitors and are also very friendly.
The showers, toilets and grounds are spotless.
We are looking forward to staying in the newly built log cabins in the winter too.
Well done to all that made the site such an enjoyable place to stay.
The only downside was we didn't want to come home and are looking forward to returning very soon.

Just back from a weekend stay at Conifer Lake and thought I'd be the first to give a review.
Our first impressions of a friendly, peaceful and relaxing site in a gorgeous location were spot on!
Although only there for one night, we absolutely loved it. Being greeted with a friendly smile by Graham and Allison, we were made to feel right at home!
Firstly, the site itself. There's washing up facilities for doing the dishes with (very) hot water on tap, and a place for bio-degradable waste which we didn't use.
The toilets were spotlessly clean, with integral showers too. Our daughter was the first to pay them a visit, running back to the tent encouraging a family visit to see just how good they were. And they were!
Local area is beautiful, with a lovely looking pub a few mins up the road. We didn't get chance to pay a visit, but certainly will next time we stay. Nearby Pocklington has some great shops for treats as well as the usual provisions.
But, I've saved the best feature until last. The Lake. It looks great, and the walk round it is lovely, and we couldn't resist crossing the bridges to the islands. If you want to fish, apparently it is well stocked and there was a fishing match on while we were there, although you wouldn't have known it - it was silent. Even the pair of green woodpeckers we saw didn't make a noise!
A peaceful, friendly site in a fantastic location and owned by a couple who want to do it right!
Thanks for a wonderful weekend. We'll be back soon!
