Have visited this site for many many years in tents and trailer tent.
This site was the reason we first came to Corwall for a holiday instead of France and it has had us coming back time and time again.
It has no bar, no games room and thankfully no rowdy campers. It does have fabulously kept pitches and beautiful flower gardens. A wonderful park and play field.
Exceptionally clean facilities that are cleaned more than once a day. The prettiest dog walk you could possibly get. A small shop and information area and two lovely and very friendly wardens.
Once we are all set up, the kids playing in the park, it feels like we've come home.
The Roseland is quiet and family friendly without the commercialism of other parts of Cornwall. The beaches are numerous but the sea gentler than the North. Loads of eateries and a few shops.
Only downside to this site is that its beginning to get a bit pricey.

We have just returned from a week here with our children aged 8 and 5.
The Good points
PITCHES - Wonderful, large pitches with hedges in between.
SHOWERS/TOILETS - Excellent, always spotless.
PLAYGROUND/PLAYING FIELDS - Kids loved. Pirate Ship and other play equipment in playground. Playing field has football and basketball nets.
SHOP - Got a few essentials to keep you going, not overpriced either.
This site is really lovely, the lady who runs it was wonderful when our son had an accident while we were there, giving our kids sweets when we came back from the hospital. However, I do have to say that there are quite a number of rules in place regarding children playing - they're not allowed Roller Blades, Scooters or Skateboards at all on site and are not allowed to ride a bike faster than walking pace. Children are not allowed to play at all other than in the playing areas. Which is fine if you don't want to see your kids all holiday or fancy hanging out with the rest of the kids in site on the playingfields! I do understand that other campers don't want to be bothered by kids playing, but come on not even been able to bounce a ball outside the playing areas is a bit extreme. This is after all supposed to be a family site.
The area around here is really nice and peaceful, plenty of lovely quite beaches, very unspoilt. St. Mawes is the nearest place, kids spent hours crabbing in the harbour. Here you will also find a few restaurants/pubs (Victory Inn highly recommended) to eat in and a small co-op.
We really did enjoy our holiday here, but a bit more of a relaxed atmosphere in the site would have made it much more enjoyable.

We have stayed in this immaculate campsite before it had become so popular, when it was a delight, and you still couldn't find a better run site. It has a very narrow and steep access lane to the site entrance. The facilities are spotless and the owners efficient and helpful. There is a beautifully kept and helpful information room containing all you could need to know about the area. We found it almost too immaculate! The leylandii hedging round the pitches is a little sterile and it was full of elderly people with caravans and awnings sitting looking at each other but I guess we were just unlucky with our neighbours.
The site is handy for the King Harry Ferry and a visit to the NT Trelissick Gardens (we walked to the ferry from the campsite but had to use the roads as there is no footpath over fields in the area sadly, and it was a long walk back!) We also walked via footpath to delightful church and creek at St Just in Roseland in the evening which was lovely. Will definitely visit again but only more out of season. I guess the success and popularity of the site has spoilt it for us.

An outstandingly peaceful site and great to see the 'nature reserve' areas of long grass and wildflowers - site has a David Bellamy award. I much prefer this to those sites where every blade of grass is cut to an inch of its life. Good choice of pitching areas on grass or hardstanding (and we were offered a choice of pitches when we arrived). St Mawes and St Just in Roseland both have dog bans so worth checking out which beaches are dog-friendly. We liked Towan beach with National Trust car park - we were pretty much the only people there in early May. The coast road is narrow though - OK for camper vans but might be tricky in a large motorhome especially in high season. The only thing I didn't like about this site was the push button showers!

I'm not sure if this qualifies as a review or not as I haven't actually stayed here but I did pop in while on my recent holiday in Cornwall.
It was love at first sight for me. The owner came out to greet me and I explained that I would like a brochure. He was ever so friendly and said he was happy for us to have a look around.
This site is absolutely stunning. I have never come across such an immaculate site, ever. The pitches are hedged and very level. The grounds are extremely well kept and the facilities spotless. The position is very picturesque and the scenery beautiful.
This site offers pure tranquility. It is a place to go to unwind and relax, certainly not the place to go if you'r after clubhouses or entertainment.
The site is in a particularly beautiful and peacful part of Cornwall and is just a short drive away from the wonderful St Mawes.
The prices aren't cheap but I think it's very much a case of you get what you pay for. I for one will definitely be booking to stay at Trethem Mill in the future.

This Site is 5 Star, although we did not know it when we booked. Everything about this site is 5*. Plenty of toilets, free hot showers, excellent dish washing facilities with plenty of room, excellent laundry and drying facilities, a well equipped shop, friendly staff, individual pitches with hedgerow borders for privacy, hard standing, so quiet and peaceful.Everything about this site is immaculate and well maintained.
To get about you need transport as the site is quite isolated and is situated about 3.5 miles from St Mawes which hosts plenty of public houses / eating places. We walked the coastal road through the fields and it was lovely.
At the end of the lane down quite a steep hill is a bus stop which will run you in to St Mawes however the last bus from St Mawes back to the campsite leaves at a very silly early time but the exercise did us good.
In St Mawes you can get the ferry across to Falmouth which is a good day out.

Wish I could pick this site up, and place it nearer home, I would then have a seasonal pitch there. I cannot fault it in any way. The facilities are kept immaculate, infact the whole site is. It was lovely to have warm loos, and showers.
The owners are so nice, but not over intrusive, and always there if you need anything. We loved the individuel pitches, it was like sitting in your own garden, the wildlife is so tame, we had a blackbird in the awning, and a robin on the chair.
The best part for us though was the enclosed dog meadow, huge, and big enough for our 2 pyrenean mountain dogs to run around in, heaven.
A small shop on site, and you can book your daily paper to be delivered. St mawes nearest shops, and pubs, and all the beaches are dog friendly, nearest beach 5 mins in the car. Lovely cream teas near king harry ferry. The surrounding area is stunning, but if you need more to do, the north coast is only 40 mins away.

This is our second time at this site and we were loathed to submit a review as this site is so good we wanted to keep it so, however, it does need talking about.
The owners of this site really care about the impression they make, the grass is well kept and raked before each new arrival. The toilet block is cleaned many times, day and night, and we have always found it spotless and warm like being at home. The shop stocks the basics and is small, however, if you need something and it is closed they will still let you buy something. If like us you needed to buy more bottles of beer or wine to get over the credit card limit, we were told swap it the next day for one from the fridge!
This site is excellent with well tended pitches and hedges, they have grass and all weather pitches that you can use and although the site is sloping in parts we did not find this a problem. The site is generally quiet and anonymous and what all sites should be like if the owners take pride in their site.
Over a very week the owner and family spent a windy days securing peoples tent and were really helpful.
There are a few cafes in St.Mawes that are good for either croissants or cooked breakfast. Cafe Chandlers deserves a mention, as does the pub in Philleigh that served excellent food.
The best site we have been to by a mile - not for those requiring entertainment or the noisy - but for those wanting a quiet break in comfort perfect.

Fantastic site! One of THE best we've ever stayed on.
The narrow lane on approach to the site entrance is very tight in 2 places. Just squeezed our motorhome through without any damage! On arrival the site looks immaculate - and it is! Easy, friendly check in. Nice sized pitches most with hedges in between for privacy. Some pitches are sloping, we used our levelling blocks.
All facilities are housed in one central block. This contains the toilets and showers (that were ALWAYS spotless), little shop with essentials and not over-priced, laundry (didn't use), information room (packed with loads to do in the local area)and recycle point. The on-site dog walk was the best we have EVER come across. The walks from the site were great too.
St Just-in-Roseland Church and Creek is just 1.5 miles from the site, via the public footpath. St Mawes is a further 2.5 miles along the coastal path - worth doing for the views alone! We found a doggie-friendly cafe (The Roseland Cafe) in St Mawes which was good for drinks and snacks. The ferry across to Falmouth takes 1/2 hour and is £7 return per adult and FREE for dogs! Another good walk from the site, again via public footpaths, is to Portscatho (approx 2.5 miles). The Plume of Feathers is a VERY doggie friendly pub and did great Sunday roasts for £7.95! We would highly recommend this site in a beautiful area with lovely owners who cannot do enough for you and really look after their wonderful site. *****

Just returned from Trethem Mill. Great site! We like immaculate sites - and we couldnt fault this one. You can tell as soon as you drive in that it is a well cared for site, the pitches and upkeep around the park were very tidy, reception was welcoming and friendly. We were given a choice of pitches and went for number 4 which was at the top of the park looking down the valley. I would say pitches in the 'central' area (see the parks site plan) pitches 32-53 would be sloping. Pitches 2-11 are along the top of the park and level. Showers I would say are the best we have encountered (and we've been to some nice sites!) They were plentiful, spotlessly clean (they smelt clean every time I went in there!), and the showers themselves were very powerful (power shower) and a lovely temperature. The site has made a dog walk/nature walk which is wonderful - not just a barren blank piece of grass like at most sites - but they really have taken care to make an actual 'walk' through a meadow with plants and benches which was a pleasure to walk around with the dog (dog bin provided) so they get top marks from us for that as it was more than adequate for exercising our German Shepherd.
We have visited the Roseland peninsula before, its pretty unspoilt and a quiet area, but with the King Harry Ferry which was just down the road from the park (£4.50 one way! better value is a £6.00 day return) all of Cornwall is very accessible - we visited Falmouth, Penzance, Sennen Cove (lovely beach) and Perranporth (great pasties) really easily.
To sum up - a top park, well worth the money - you get what you pay for I suppose. Highly recommended for those who like peace and quiet, nature (owls hooting all the time) and an immaculate site.
