The site is well layed out and pretty we were on a slight slope, the toilets and showers were very clean, the showers were a little draughty with the window above your head, okay when its warm. The shop was open limited times but had most things you might forget or need. Children on the site seemed very happy. The owners were very friendly. Lovely area, we found a great beach at pendower and we love watching the boats at st mawes. We are just a couple so we did nt check out the childrens facilities. We would stay again.

Lovely spot, quiet campsite. Nice and secluded play area for the younger ones.
Spotless facilities very proud owners (seen cleaning the loos at 03:45am)
Small shop on site for milk and bread etc, big supermarkets are hard to find and the small 7/11 type place in St Mawes is expensive.
Things I'd recommend:
Great Rock pooling at St Mawes.
Passenger ferry to Falmouth
Car Ferry (king Harry) across the Fal
Evening meal at the Pandora Inn, Restronguet. Get a personal water Taxi (speed Boat) there and back great fun!
Theres loads of stuff to do in this area and the reception has many leaflets.
The only minor gripe was that our tent was a bit too big. I did email the size before hand and requested a space for a day tent too. So If you are a large unit do email before and check the pitch is sufficient.
Saying that I do believe they are looking into this for next season any will have amended the www by that point.

We decided to visit Trethem Mill based on previous reviews and a personal recommendation and we were not disappointed! The site is amongst the best I've ever stayed on. It's quite a small site but with a real 'family 'feel to it - most of the units were occupied by families all enjoying themselves, and not once did we hear any shouting and yelling, and because there is no bar on site, no drunken returning to tents and caravans at night - in fact, on most nights it was really quiet by 10pm! The toilet and shower block was immaculate, as were the washing up area and launderette. Hot showers were free and although there were only 4 each for men and women, you never had to wait for too long. The toilets were never closed for cleaning - the family who run the site were regularly seen mopping floors, which were surprisingly spotless considering the terrible wet weather we encountered whilst there. All campers respected the lovely facilities by wiping their feet on the mats provided in doorways. The only thing that spoilt our holiday last week was out of the control of the owners, and that was the appalling weather! Our pitch became a muddy swamp in the torrential rain and gales - I really pity the next family who were going to be pitching their unit on it! However, the pitches were a great size and were separated by hedges to give a bit of privacy. There were some really tame birds and rabbits which often came right up to the tent entrance looking for the odd crumb! Our 2 daughters aged 11 and 9 were more than happy with the enclosed play area, although with the torrential weather we had, we did miss a warm dry bar to retire to during a cold wet evening - having said that, though, we much preferred Trethem to any of the bigger sites with the all singing all dancing facilities. We didn't eat out in St Mawes whilst there as the pub menus were very expensive. However, the Spa shop in the village was fantastic and very reasonably priced - it sold everything! The small shop on site sold all the essentials ( esp chilled wine!) and although it's only open for a few hours each day, the very helpful owners were always on hand to fetch you any 'essentials'. Sadly, because of the weather, we only managed to visit 1 beach at Carne which was lovely. We also visited the Seal Sanctuary at Gweek which was a lovely afternoon out though we thought it was expensive at £32 for 4 of us! We will definitely visit Trethem Mill again, though hopefully when the weather is a lot better - we actually cut our holiday short by 2 days because were so wet and muddy, and generally fed up with constant gales at night! I was all for giving up camping last week but now that the tent is finally dried out I'm already looking forward to our next trip!

A fantastic site. Very Friendly staff. The facilities are spotless and very well maintained. Even with torrential rain the pitches open stayed dry. Nice and quiet. Easy access to St Mawes and the surrounding area. The first campsite we have stayed at that we cannot find anything to say could be improved.

Campers heaven! A fantastic site, well maintained and spotless. We were made to feel very welcome and thoroughly enjoyed our stay - we will definitely be returning. A very tranquil and peaceful holiday. Pendower beach is fantastic - great for rock pooling we managed to catch 2 shrimps, a crab and a sea snail! If you are going to use the King Harry ferry make sure you buy your tickets on site - they are discounted.

We stayed on this site over the Easter period and found it to be one of the best sites we have ever stayed on. Everything was spotless and very well cared for. We normally stay on Caravan & Camping Club / Caravan Club sites but are finding that we have to book so far in advance that we decided to start trying some commercial sites. I would thoroughly recommend this site as it was excellent.

This site was perfection for us. Caravan, awning and one tent. Weather was scorching during our visit, which no doubt helped. Site itself is very well kept, with a small shop on site. Loads of walks from the site, including the south west coastal path. Site is nice and quiet. We were on the pitch right at the entrance, and even that was no problem. Great getting ferries everywhere. St Mawes, the nearest town, is perhaps a little expensive, but I suppose you've got to pay a price for such great surroundings.

Is this camping? Too nice? Great pitches with hedges and picnic tables. Big slope at top end for tents / caravans but nobody seems to be unhappy. Clean showers / toilets good shop and helpful owners. but. It is a brilliant place, St Mawes is ace but a bit toffee nosed. Not for campers who like a field and nothing else, but if you want to experience a very well run campsite for people like "us" in a great location in one of the most beautiful locals in Cornwall then go for it. ps take a 4x4 and a Khyam

Just spent a brilliant week here. So relaxed & quiet but only 5 mins from St Mawes or 15 from St Austell. Small on site shop that doesnt seem to have a massive selection but always seems to have what you need. The toilet /shower block are excellent ,heated & spotless. There is a separate room for washing pots with half a dozen roomy sinks & constant free hot water.Disabled shower suite & laundry room also available. The people on site always seem to be around & are very friendly & helpful. There are picnic tables that you can drag to your tent. The site is spottless & the grass is constantly mowed. Would I visit again? ,without a shadow of a doubt, highly recommended.

We've just returned from 2 weeks camping at this site and it has the nicest washrooms I have ever encountered at a campsite. Very clean. We arrived after a 9 hour drive and were pleased with everything about the place. The area is lovely and the owners were very helpful. We would definitely go again in the future and from what I saw, and from what people there told me, a lot of people go year after year. I liked the fact they provide freezers for ice packs which you can access at any time and there was no charge for anything except the launderette, The shop was well stocked and not expensive. It's a quiet site and other than children playing in the evening there is no noise and all goes quiet by 10 - 10.30pm.
