What a super time we had again at this site. This site must be one of the cleanest, well equipped and well run sites in the country let alone the county ! The owners, Kevin and Trudy couldn't do more to make our stay enjoyable if they tried.
The location is fantastic and after a couple of days the hill back up from Polruan is no problem. Do yourself a big favour and stay on this site at least once. I guarantee that you will come back again.

The entrance route is not for the faint hearted with a caravan as it is accessed by narrow roads which you have to take the 'we are bigger than you' approach with cars - if you meet another caravan there would be issues!
The site itself is very well kept however too regimented for our liking and perhaps too many signs telling you what you can't do. The pitches are all hardstanding but a little cramped - for tents it was more spacious (perhaps touring caravans where an after thought)
The toilets/showers are very clean however the showers were on a timer which is a little annoying as the buttons are outside the cubicle also a key code was needed to access the toilets/showers which may be a little excessive.
The staff are friendly and the shop is well stocked, you also get a delivery van selling local produce coming a couple of times a week.
Very nice location with good coastal walks nearby the campsite you can get a foot ferry to Fowey which is a walk down the hill - the return journey is VERY steep and perhaps not suitable for all although there is a car ferry nearby also two nice pubs in the local village both serving good food and a local general store nearby but again down the hill.
Overall a nice site perhaps a little isolated but on a bus route

We stayed at Polruan Holiday Park last June and have to say how much we enjoyed staying here, the only downside was the weather (no-one can do anything about that) which was a shame as they are so many places to visit and explore!
The family who run it were extremely helpful, kind and very polite, facilities very good and exceptional clean toilets and showers, and very clean grounds
If there is one downside it has to be the very narrow roads leading to the site! we called it the Pixie Highway! but it would not put us off returning

This site is maintained to the highest standards, the toilets and showers are spotless, the grass is very neat and short and yet I'm afraid the site itself has a soulless feel. I'm convinced this is due to the fact that on arrival you are handed an A4 sheet of rules which make you feel as if you cannot be trusted to behave. One rule tells you to stick to the 5 mph limit - why is this necessary when there are 5 mph signs there? One rule tells you not to smoke in any public building as it is against the law - again there are signs up everywhere so why do they need to write it down again? They also have to remind parents that they are responsible for their children, apparently parents would completely forget that fact if they didn't remind them of it. Extreme peace and quiet is required between 10. 30pm and 8am - it's this sort of tone that runs all through the very long list of rules which by the end left me feeling battered and bruised and scared of sneezing.
Right, my rant about the rules is over now. I hope the owners actually think about how these can make people feel. My advice would be to put them up in the office if you really feel you have to but do not hand them out to your visitors. I am now on a site that has no rule sheet either handed out or on the office wall and yet I haven't seen any speeding and there is zero noise and it is only 10pm. Mind you, it is probably swarming with Sex Offenders!
Here are my views on other points on the campsite in case you feel you can live with the rules.
The pitches are pretty small. I only just had room for my small VW campervan and a utility tent.
The site is very manicured, hardly a blade of grass out of place and I know a lot of people like that but it's not for me.
The position was fabulous - fantastic views out to sea and a lovely 15 minute walk down to the pubs (25 mins back I'd say).
The children's play area has just 2 swings, which look brand new and unused. I didn't see any children on the site when I was there.
On my second and last night here there was a bad storm with very high winds and my utility tent was flattened by the morning. Some other campers in a trailer tent also had trouble with flooding but the owners didn't come over to ask how we were doing.
So, as you can tell by now, this site is not for me which is a shame due to its fantastic location. If only I hadn't read the rules I would probably have enjoyed it here.

We have just returned from spending the bank holiday weekend at this lovely site. (And the rain only fell at night!) This was our third or fourth visit. Kevin and Trudy are always very welcoming and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. There is plenty of walking close at hand, the coast path is literally over the road and across a field, so no need to move the motorhome unless you want to visit the many local attractions within the vicinity. It is a very quiet site and a lovely spot to relax and enjoy the scenery.
The site is beautifully maintained and the facilities are spotlessly clean. The information room is full with books to borrow and leaflets of local interest, internet access etc. There is a well-stocked shop and also a man comes round in his van selling fruit and veg, croissants and scones etc.
A short walk down the hill to Polruan and across the passenger ferry to Fowey is a novelty and there are trips up the river or take the ferry to Mevagissey.
We will definitely be returning.

Another year, another visit, still a very well run site, that is immaculate in its appearance, we were put off though by the amount of rules and signs that were put up around the site, it really did unnerve us. This site is really lovely and it does its job, the thing is why did we leave a day early and breath a a sigh of relief??. In all honesty after reading all the do, s and don'ts we got a feeling that maybe we were just being tolerated rather than welcomed? Dunno really, its a shame that the owner has had to resort to these methods, but obviously he has had lots of problems with rowdy campers!
Its still a good site in a lovely location, but I think we, ll give it a miss for now. Oh and by the way we don't have children and we are not rowdy haha

Lovely site! Situated just above Polruan (yes it is quite a steep hill back up) this site is very well placed for exploring this part of Cornwall. The Coast Path can be accessed just outside the site entrance for heading east and the foot ferry to Fowey is regular for going west. Polruan has two pubs, a good cafe and a village shop as well as a post office so the basics are available close to hand. Extremely well kept site with good clean facilities. Owners are very helpful indeed. Reasonably stocked site shop, good collection of books, games if wet. Certainly a site we will be happy to return too.

This family run is at the top of Polruan's fore street and we stayed in the lower field which had great views of the surrounding fields and sea.
We stayed for 7 nights and The facilities were always clean and in full working order. Kevin also jump started our car for us when it ran out of juice after standing too long. The shop which is on site has most basics, we bought a new kettle, firelighters, matches and soft drinks whilst we were there. Prices were not unreasonable.
We had two dogs with us and walking them along the coastal path which is about 5 mins walk from the site was always a pleasure.
We've visited Plruan on a number of occasions and love drinking in the Lugger at the bottom of the town, taking the ferry over the harbour to Fowey or taking one of the many walks in the area.
Site is quiet and well kept and the owners are very friendly will definitely be returning.

What an excellent site, spread over 4 small fields with approx 7 gravel pitches (with hook up) set aside for touring caravans nicely located on a perfectly kept flat lawn close to the toilets, showers, washup etc.
Motor homes seemed to use the middle field with the majority of tents net along but I get the impression Kevin is very flexible.
Site has a great location, quiet and out of the way but close to some lovely walks and a village with decent pubs that still have character.
Owners were wonderfully helpful and keep the whole site immaculate, it is clear that they take pride in ensuring you have a good stay.
Their on site shop has fresh stocks of everything you could wish for at reasonable prices, no need to drive out to get anything you forget unless you fancy a lovely drive along the various local lanes.
A walk along to Lantic Bay is well worth the effort and our drive out to Bodmin Jail was excellent fun with first class food.
The best site we have ever stayed at.

We have just returned home from 6 nights at this lovely campsite, sadly due to the weather conditions(delta pegs on order!) we had to cut our stay short but this is a fantastic site just a little exposed but that's a price you pay for the beautiful views of this rugged coastline.
The site itself is spotless & the friendly owners work very hard to keep it that way. We had a nearly level pitch with EHU, and quite sheltered.
Plenty of walks from the site, we caught the local bus to Polperro and walked the coastal path back approx 7 miles, spectacular.
Well stocked shop and great information room, the loos and showers again were always clean.
The pubs in Polruan are very good, yes the walk back is steep but not too bad. All in all we would recommend this site if peace, space and tranquilty is what you need, just lovely, shame we left it so late in the year to discover it.
We can't comment on the child friendliness of this site as we don't have any & there wasn't any children on site when we were there.
However very dog friendly - we even took him on the bus!
