We stayed at this site for two nights whilst visiting the area. The wardens are pretty helpful and look after the site pretty well. The site is totally open with no trees or bushes separating any pitches, which is a bit of a shame really. The toilet block / washing up area are located at the opposite end to the entrance, and are quite a walk if you really need the loo quickly.
These were pretty well maintained, although having to buy a token (50p) for a shower was a bit of a pain in the backside. The site is quite large, and if everyone decided to go for a shower at the same time, there would be some wait as there are only 4 showers in the gents.
If you are looking for a quiet site, where you can have a bit of a lye in, forget it. As this is on the racecourse, there seems to be something going on all the time. Saturday morning I was awoken at 5.30am to the sound of cars and people that were setting up for a car boot sale. And Sunday about 6.00am to another event going on. So if you are an early riser than fine! Personally I would try to find another site nearby if visiting again…

Stayed here a couple of nights in conjunction with the Stratford Beerfest which was held at the course. A good site with clean hot showers, and a pleasant stroll into Stratford Upon Avon. The wardens operate the reception out of an office attached to their house on the site. Very much like having a friendly uncle and aunty on hand with lots of useful info. I'd forgotten the ice blocks for my cool box, and they were happy to lend me a couple.
The washing up / laundry room's good and has power points if you don't have a hook up and want to use a hairdryer etc. Would definitely stay here again when next in the area. Get your groceries before arrival, because there's only a petrol station within walking distance - (And Anne Hathaway's cottage of course !)

Just spent Easter at this site and it was very enjoyable. The campsite is right next to the racecourse, so nearly all of the pitches are just grass with a few hardstanding pitches as you enter the site on the left.
There had been a lot of rain here and there were some grassed areas with standing water. We got stuck in the mud at our pitch but were quickly pulled out with the on-site tractor! The wardens were very helpful and accommodating especially as we got heavily delayed on the M6 and didn't arrive until nearly 11pm.
Can't comment on the toilet/shower facilities as we didn't use them but there was an on-site children's play area and there is a huge area inside the centre of the racecourse to exercise your dog. It says on the paperwork that you should not exercise them on the actual track though.
There are gates at the side and back of the racecourse that access a footpath which takes you along the river into the town. This was extremely muddy so we opted to use the other public footpath which was asphalt. It took us about 35-40 mins to walk into the town centre.
There is a car boot in the field just outside the racecourse every Saturday. I tend to agree with others who have left reviews, it would probably be very noisy and busy here when they are racing but if you enjoy horseracing then it would be a real treat.
Overall a very nice site with a good area to exercise your dog and within walking distance of the town, can't ask for much better! We will be returning in the near future.

Just got back from a weekend away, one night of which was spent camping here. To start with my husband and I had no idea how to put our tent up which was clear to any onlookers, four very kind groundsmen came to our rescue and it was up in no time. We had a lovely walk along the river into the town where there is loads of bars, restaurants, shows and history to keep you entertained. The toilets were standard but clean and the showers were too (50p tokens needed). There is no site shop however, but the town is a short drive or 25 minute wak. After a lovely evenings stay we went to leave but realised our car battery was flat, the kind man in the office was straight to our rescue with some spark plugs and no grumbles. Would highly recommend this site, especially if you are as naive/accident prone as us!

We stayed here for a short weekend break, camped next to some lovely friendly people who used the site all the time.
The wardens were helpful and friendly if a bit eccentric, we didn't have a hook up so could park where ever we liked in the middle of the field.
The toilet block could of done with a more regular clean, the bin was overflowing on the Saturday afternoon but other than that it was ok.
The site was fine for a couple of days and we would go back but not for a longer break.

Stratford-Upon-Avon is worth visiting the area. There are several excellent places to eat and drink, good shopping and all the links to William Shakespeare. The RSC have regular, year round performances here. You can hire rowing boats and paddle along the river, or go on one of the several canal tours on offer.
Site was very handy for Stratford, with excellent facilities and staff.

Very large pitches, most with electric hookups. The pitch fees are not too expensive even if you have a hookup. A bit of a walk to the water taps and even further to the toilet/shower block which was spotless but far too small to cater for everyone if the site starts to get full. Another block near the site entrance would be appreciated. Most pitches open to the elements except those immediately to the right when entering the site. No other facilities, i.E. Shop or bar/restaurant, on site or nearby so you will need to bring plenty or walk or ride into Stratford. As others have mentioned, there are pleasant walks into town where there are plenty of historical sites, shops, pubs & restaurants which are well worth a visit.

Went on our first caravan trip here.
Warden very helpful on the phone and when there, toilets and showers very clean 50 pence token required when you need a shower, get from warden.
On race days you get free entry into the middle of the course saving you 8 pounds each.
There are some nice walks, along the river avon, were you can also fish, pay on the bank, walking along the footpath to stratford takes about 20 mins.
Overall a very nice place to stay, would go back again.

This was a short two night outing to test our kit (it had been a while since we had used it) and visit a friend.
On arrival we received a very friendly and helpful welcome by the warden. (Note that they can't always process payments by card, we had a cheque book with us so no problem.)
We were given a choice of pitches. The middle field where we pitched was flat and had good tarmac road with lighting on the road. The toilet / shower blocks were well serviced, lots of hot water in the wash basins. Showers cost 50p for 7 minutes which is more than enough time. (Tokens on sale from reception - and the friendly warden will buy back any unused tokens) Small laundry/washing-up room was well equipped but probably gets busy in peak season. Small playground for the kids and when we were there our kids found plenty of space to play without kicking balls into other campers' pitches. No shop on site, nearest shop is a 'convenience' shop only about 10-15 mins walk away, a little further is a petrol station with small shop & cash machine. Warden will give you directions to the local supermarkets (which are easily accessed by car). We found 2 pubs within walking distance. We went to 'The Bell' at Shottery which served great food and good beer.
It was a good break with no complaints about the site, it's a nice place to stay, convenient to explore the town, friendly warden and simple but good facilities. Will certainly use again if in the area.

The pitches are very generous so you're not on top of the next unit. The showers are on a 50p token which you have to get from the warden and you get 7 minutes, which is quite a long time.
I had read that the walk into town was about a mile and took around 20 minutes - I walked along the river bank and it took me nearer 40. There are a couple of different routes, though, and they're all very pleasant.
The site is brilliant for dogs because you can take them into the centre of the racecourse and let them off the lead and let them have a good run.
There is a small children's playground with swing etc.
