Just thought I would give an update on the new shower block that has recently been built, it is a lot lot better than the original albeit it still requires some finishing which I'm sure they will sort out soon, eg the urinal flushes don't appear to function, and there are no hooks in the very large shower cubicles which does cause a problem as no where to hang anything, other than that they are really very good.
Another problem is getting on the motor-home service point, they have installed entry and exit barriers to the site and the angle from the service point to the exit barrier is very difficult if you have a longish vehicle you will need to complete a few manoeuvres.
Other than that its still in my opinion a better choice than the Aire albeit its further out from the town.
Another plus point is the Carrefour just short walk away as it has a very reasonable restaurant that is open quite late in the evening.

Ideally situated for visiting the lovely town of Bruges. About 2 miles on easy cycle paths to the centre, of course you need a bike to use them. Plenty of cycle racks and reasonably secure. We left ours for about 4 hours with no problem.
The site facilities are excellent with plenty hot water in the showers and all kept clean. Staff are very helpful and friendly.
The downside is they do tend to pack you in, our pitch 87 had room at the side for awning, table and chairs, but many didn't.
Supermarket is 10 minute walk and bread is available on site.
I recommend booking before you go as it was full and many were turned away.

We stayed at this site for one night before travelling on to Spa for a motorbike event. We were late in arriving but an envelope clearly marked with our surname was left with instructions as to where our pitch was.
We then returned for a further two nights after the event to allow us to spend some time in Brugges.
The staff in the office could not have been more helpful. The facilities were of a good standard. The site was very busy but we had sufficient room on our pitch. The toilets and showers were clean (though you need to take your own toilet roll on each visit). There was a new toilet and shower block which was due for completion two days after we left which looked really smart.
There is a bus stop only 5 mins walk from the site which takes you into Brugges. We found parking with our motorhome almost impossible on the first day - lots of parking with height barriers - but we took the bus next day - cheap and easy and good instructions written on the info from the site office. Supermarkets etc within easy reach.
Would recommend.

We stayed two nights at this campsite. The location of the site for Bruge is excellent, the no. 11 bus which is a 5min walk takes you into Bruge centre. Staff at the campsite are friendly.
It's very much a short stopover site, pitches are very small. We were a little alarmed to discover that anyone could access the campsite through a gap in the hedge at pitch 21, which backed onto a wood with numerous paths that leads onto housing estates.
Toilet and shower block are very dated and dirty. There is no toilet paper or soap. Good news is that a new toilet and shower block is currently being build and should be finished sometime this year. In the meantime the area around the shower block and especially the washing pots area is like a building site and muddy, there are only two sinks operational!

Stayed at Memelin for 2 nights at the start of our seven week tour of Europe. Ideal site for visiting Brugge.
Showers /toilets could do with some updating. Reception spoke good english and provided more than enough information of the area for us to enjoy ourselves
Bus stop into Brugge about five minutes walk from the site, Buy your tickets at the Garage before you get on the bus as it's cheaper.
Site was adequate for two nights could be a bit tight if we wanted to put an awning up. (did not bother for two nights.
Would definitely use this site for future visits to Brugge

We have just returned from a great 5 days in Bruges. The campsite was very easy to find using the directions given on the campsite website.
When we arrived the reception had closed for the night but this was not a problem as the owner had left us an envelope attached to the reception door, inside the envelope was our pitch number and leaflets with information about the campsite and surrounding area.
We found our pitch to be quite small, just big enough to fit our caravan and car on -we were using the site purely as a base from which to visit Bruges and had not planned to use our awning anyway but if we had wanted to we could have put awning up and just parked our car on the carpark at the reception.
The shower block was a little dated but clean and even though our stay was over the Whit weekend and the site was busy we never had to queue. The campsite is situated in a well kept leafy residential area with shops and a choice of supermarkets, (great for stocking up on those Belguim beers), very close by.
The campsite is also in a great location for exploring the centre of Bruges- either a flat 30-40 minute walk, or jump on the number 11 bus (2 euros),or drive for a couple of minutes to the ring road and leave your car free of charge, or do as we did and take your bikes and follow the safe, easy cycle path into Bruges and then just chain your bikes for the day at one of the many cycle racks dotted around the city.
We enjoyed our stay very much and will definitely stay at Camping Memling on our next visit to the lovely city of Bruges.

Agree with previous comments.
Site was in a residential part of Bruge with about an hour gentle stroll into the centre. Despite this the site is surrounded by mature trees in depth and the houses were not intrusive.
Two large supermarkets on main road within walking distance.
Toilet block dated but clean but hot water seemed to rely on solar heating. Showers behind reception much better.
Our pitch was large enough for caravan, awning and car to all go side by side.
While we had to specify electric hook up on our booking, it appeared that everyone had a hook up.
With it being Easter Bank Holiday the site was packed for the first weekend then emptied.
On arrival, after the office had closed, our pitch information was pinned up.
The site has easy access from Dunkirk, about ninety minutes, and was convenient for cycling and driving to a number of places including Holland.
We will return next year to visit the places that we were unable to fit into a week.

This site is in Flanders – the Dutch speaking north of Belgium so forget the French you leant at school. The French speakers call it Bruges while the Flemish call it Brugge. Watch out for the road signs changing intermittently. However everyone appears to speak fluent English. I gave up with French after a while.
Anyway we've just got back after spending a few nights at this site and it poured down the whole time. We had to move our tent after the first hour after we pitched in the area where the rain water started to gather.
It was a very busy time of year with lots of campers with small tents at the end of the site. We booked in advance and specifically requested a large plot for 2 tents.
The site is a good base for exploring Brugge and was used heavily as a stopover on the way to and from Calais or Dunkirk. Even though parking is free on the ring road that runs round Bruges we drove to the railway station and parked there for €2.50. You then get a free bus into Brugge.
The site was quiet at night. The shower/toilet area was clean, but busy and there was a bit of queuing. There is no soap and no toilet paper so make sure you bring some.
There is a Common Room on site with a piano and area to gather; very useful for sheltering from the rain. You can get wifi or use the on-site PC by buying a ticket from a slot machine (1 euro for an hour). There are good supermarkets within a 10-minute walk – a Lidl and a Delhaize.

We have used this site many times in the past and although very crowded always been happy to stay. Since our last stay two years ago the site has changed. We were allocated a pitch for our van that was basically a car park space, we had no room to use a table outside and we could see straight into next vans eating area. The showers were dirty and only just warm and although there was a warning that 9 til 10 was busy I had to wait for one of the four showers at 8:15 in the morning. It cost 27E for three people in a camper van on what was really a car park space on grass. I will not be going back again. Brugge has also become very expensive compared with other lovely Belgium towns, although the shopping is still very good.

We booked this site in feb this year and paid in full for it. We used the channel tunnel and it only took 2 hours to get to the site from calais.
As we arrived before 12, we were told to see if we could find a pitch, which we did next to 3 pop up tents with some fellow brits in. As this was our first trip abroad with a tourer we found the pitch small by comparison, but as we were only using it as a stopover on the way to Koblenz it was fine, and by using the mover we got the van on to the pitch.
The manager was very friendly and spoke very good English.
The showers were a bit dated but adequate and the toilets were clean, but as stated you need to take your own paper.
In the woods next to the campsite our boys found an assault course type set up, and spent an hour enjoying the equipment.
There is a swimming pool right next door to the campsite and was reasonable at 4 euros. The bus ride into Brugge is cheap and frequent and we had an enjoyable evening in Brugge.
Would we go back? well yes there is so much to see and do around the area.
