We enjoyed Littlesea very much, especially my 7 and 2 year old. They loved the daytime activities, and the indoor and outdoor pool.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. They had a bouncy castle and trampolines for an extra charge, but I did notice some people let their kids use it but didn't pay which I found rather annoying when I had paid.

We had a great pitch for our caravan with the view of the bay and we were far enough away from the entertainment so we didn't get loads of noise. Only downside were the showers at the swimming pool were really cold!

 September 2005
Stayed here for 3 nights , Friday to Monday, got a great price of £17.20 for all 3 nights for a basic pitch.and now I know why.

On arrival we were directed to the main bar where we were told we would have to wait half an hour to check in to be open. This was despite the booking confirmation saying we could check in any time after 12 noon.

We were then told that we could not camp in the normal 'tent' area as that field was close off. Therefore we had to camp on the top field which is virtually all electrical hook ups for caravans, the result was some very uneven ground and high winds. After attempting for sometime to peg the tent down into rock ! we turned around to see the inner snowballing across the field to the sea. So I returned to 'customer services' and asked to pitch in the field that was closed off. They finally agreed but only after explaining that the real reason the field was closed was cos they had to put a lot of poison down for the rats! (On closer inspection it may have something to do with the massive dung heap that is in the next door field).

Was extremly dissapointed with the site, loads of rubbish, very bored staff (end of season syndrome?) The pool was 'nice' but the smell of chlorine stronger than you would normally expect. Breakfast was good value, but other than that I would class it all as expensive.

Spoke to a lot of other people, all of whom were dissapointed. Turns out Haven is now owned by Bourne Leisure who also own Butlins. One woman had had to hire a static for the final week of her holiday cos the campsite was so bad.

Will definitely not be returning here.

If Dante ever needed inspiration for another 'circle' in his Inferno work this place would surely be it.

I can't think of anything whatsoever to say about this place that is positive.

We arrived on Tuesday and, whilst checking in, was subjected to a 'guest' complaining that her children were being shot at with an airgun on the tenting field !

No specific pitch was allocated. We drove onto the field to be confronted with what looked like a refugee site. Absolute chaos.

We finally found a place to pitch where we got through scores of tent pegs and wasted two and a half hours trying to hammer pegs through the myriad of rocks and boulders just beneath the surface.

Finally pitched, we awoke on Wednesday morning to gales and rain the like of which you shouldn't see in August. Nevertheless, they can't be blamed for the weather.

They can be blamed for allocating a field of sandy soil on top of rocks for a tent field. Inevitably, the tent pegs came away in the sandy sludge, the tent collapsed and we, along with many many others, mad a hasty retreat.

As I say, you can't blame Haven for the weather. My point is that, had we been at either of the 2 previous sites we had stayed at on our holiday, we wouldn't have had a problem. The site IS NOT SUITABLE FOR TENTING.

Spurred on by Havens pledge to try to 'exceed' customer service expectation, I informed them of my concerns.

It is now September 21st and I finally received a letter and offer of repeat visit (yeah, right!). Also a refund of site fee's. The letter, however, appeared to have been for the lady at reception who had been shot at !

I contacted Haven and they admitted that they had sent me somebody elses letter (and, of course, somebody elses cheque and credit note). All of these were addressed / made out to me and sent to me at my home address ! They now say they need another week to look at my original letter !

Please stay somewhere else, for your own sake. You have been warned !

Noisy at night because of people returning from the entertainment. Would maybe be ok in a caraven as you can block the noise out a bit but in a tent it was a nightmare. Food was at the takeaway and restaurant was average at best but staff were polite, friendly and helpful.

The site was very clean and the swimming pool warm. There is bus stop on site and a regular bus service to Weymouth which could be handy.
If you want to make use of the entertainment and had children it would be a good site for you.

Spent a weekend there with my 2 sons and a tent. Made a late booking via the internet and got a bargain price of £18 for 2 nights.

Ariived Friday evening around 6pm only to find all the prime pitches on the touring field were taken. No matter - we started a new row down the middle. Field is mainly flat and a short walk to pool, toilets etc. Hand Tip - Walk up to the toilet block near the entrance to the field; it's bigger, better and cleaner.

Indoor and outdoor pools both very good with life guards. They are within a central complex containing amusements, play area and bars. Entertainment was, well, typical sing-along camp site quality. Try the breakfast in Strikes Bar - only £2 for a decent 'full' english.

Overall, I would recommend this site. The boys want to back for a weekend again next year.

What a fantastic holiday, the site was clean and well run. It was a first Haven holiday and we'll be back, the pitch was flat, Toilet blocks were cleaned non stop throughout the day and the staff were nice too. With two children of 10 and 14 to amuse we didn't have to do much. The park is nice for little ones and the kids made loads of friends. The clubhouse can get full early on but if you go after the kids club has finished about 9.30 you'd get a seat no bother the shows were good and plenty of variety (if you want a quieter bar there is one with a band) the other one main acts every night and a smaller one with a nice resturant.
The swimming pool was lovely and with an indoor and outdoor not too busy plenty of life guards, any children that can swim let them try the Aqua Jet racing it is £4.00 but well worth the hour my son loved it and Andy the instructor was a star with them all.
littlesea is well placed with lots to do out and about and I'd go back here the kids loved it and I loved the peace.

This was our first camping trip and we stayed from the Friday evening through to the Sunday afternoon and had a great time.

The pool is clean, evening entertainment was very good, and the security team were helpful when we turned up at 11pm to pitch up. Oh, and there's a Haven bus which runs down to the seafront every 30 minutes for £2 return - that took the hassle out of having to park in the town.

Would go again.

I love Littlesea, we went a couple of years ago and are going back this summer. I have two teenage boys and when asked where would you like to go this year Littlesea was thier choice. It is great for camping, far enough away from the clubs to be relaxing. But only a small walk to be in the hub of it all. The facilities are great, Laundry, shop, hire, washing up sinks etc. I was quite close to one shower block so great, there are two. The entertainment is brilliant when you want it. Most nights we prefer to chill out while the boys go clubbing. This site is great for kid's of all ages. The club's also have very good security at nights. Haven sites do cost more but in my experience are well worth it because the only extra cost is food really. (apart from the arcades of course) The views are great here to.

The site is grass and slopes a bit, they have two toilet blocks both of which offer the basics - Shower, WC and Basins. There is a washing up room in both, these consist of a sink and hot/cold water. Two thirds of the pitches are electric and the whole site is kept well groomed - grass cut, plenty of rubbish bins. The bins are emptied every other day but as they are large wheely bins this seems adequate.
The view of the sea is good and you can see Chesil Beach. The roads on the site all have speed bumps but they do not interfere with movement if you keep your speed down.

They have only one permanent warden at the moment and he is very helpful and friendly. It was he who started the ice-pack replenishment scheme, he got the site manager to give him some to freeze so that we can do a direct swap
instead of waiting. Unfortunately because of the warm weather this was a bit hit and miss as all he had was fridge with a large icebox. He managed to get hold of the key to the ice cream kiosk and from the Thursday he used the
freezers in there and the service has improved tremendously. If you do go please remember that he only has small blocks for exchange, if you use the large ones he will freeze them but you need to return for them.
Sunday and Monday are his days off and his replacements do need some customer relations training, they are there and that is about it.

If you do not want to take part in the activities that are organised (The site is classed as All Action by Haven) then there are plenty of places to visit: Weymouth (market Thursday) itself - nice beach with plenty of sand, some great pubs for either eating or drinking or both. Dorchester (market Wednesday) is only 10 miles away and Portland (market is Tuesday) is also worth a visit. Other places we visited included Royal Signals museum at Blandford, Tank Museum - Bovington, Longleat.
The evening entertainment was varied and as the children joined the clubs for them very little was seen of them when we were on the camp site. The site has two pools - One indoor and one outdoor, both were clean and well supervised.
