Excellent site just across a (quiet) road from a sheltered sandy beach.
The facilities were not finished when we were there (early July) but there were 3 showers and 3 toilets, plus disabled shower/toilet. There will be another 3 toilets and showers when the facilities are completed.
Washing machine and drying line on the site.
About 1 mile from Pollacher Inn, which does great food in a lovely location. Also a couple of miles from the causeway to Eriskay so great location for exploring the area.

Booked this site after debating as to whether to wild camp or not. This has the best of both worlds. Situated within 30 seconds from a beautiful cove, it really is a beautiful location and very peaceful. The type of people it attracts are most definitely, chilled out, nature lovers.
The site is still having the finishing touches but it is most definitely functional with far better showers than I have seen in most hotels. Great facilities with a large kitchen and washing machine
The owner, DJ, is very helpful and a really nice gentle guy.
Very very impressed (Alice and Penny)

Still a work in progress but when finished it will be an amazing site. We were charged £12 a night for 2 adults, our dog and EHU for our van.
Currently it has 2 showers and 2 toilets working along with washing facilities etc. The showers are top class and very powerful. There were about 6 EHU's working when we were there and the site is just over the road from a sandy beach.
There is a lovely pub for food/drinks about 1 mile away but it is not dog friendly. When we go back to the Hebridies this site will definitely be top of our list.
The owner was very nice and there is a garden next door you can buy eggs, veg etc

We were one of the first campers to stay on this new campsite, it was still being developed when we stayed there but had a toilet/shower block;
Washing up area; washing machine; electric hook-up; waste disposal/water and toilet disposal. The fully enclosed shower block was having the
Final touches done to complete it, all the fittings were of a very high quality; there was even a view of the beach while you were washing up.
The pitches were very large, all with a view of the sea and plenty of space and privacy between pitches - something that is quite rare in many of
The island campsites. The campsite itself is in a prime position, there is a white sandy beach twenty yards away which is good for swimming,
Sunbathing and excellent for kayaking. The whole of the Uist's islands are surrounded by beautiful clear seas and wildlife. During our stay there
Were researchers on a conservation project camping on the next pitch to us - they went watching dophins just five minutes away up the coast.
There is also 'The Walled Garden' next to the campsite where you can buy fresh vegetables, eggs, chutneys, jams and herbs. Pub/restaurant less
Than a mile away.
The ferry from the mainland (Oban to Lochboisdale) lands only eight miles from the campsite so it is easy to get to once you are on the island. If
You go south from the campsite you are able to drive over the sea via a short causeway onto the island of Eriksay, from there you are able to
Catch a short ferry to the island of Barra (also stunning). South Uist is great for cycling, there is not much traffic on the roads (most roads are
Single track with passing places) and most of the roads are gently rolling rather than steep hills. The Islanders are very friendly, most of them will
Wave at you while you are passing on your bicycle. If you want to have a chat or find out some local information go in the Co-op at Lochboisdale.
The owner and builder of the campsite is very friendly and helpful and a good source of local information. It all sounds idillyc, is there a
Downside to this site - only having to leave to return home.
