Lovely site, well situated for visiting northern Skye, with great views. We pitched in the first tent field which is on a slight incline, but that wasn't a problem. There are no mark pitches, but even though it was high season and quite busy there was plenty of room and you didn't feel crammed in. The owners were very friendly and helpful, freezing iceblocks and giving advice on where to visit. The toilet/shower block was very clean and is pretty central to the first tent field and touring section of the site, but quite a trek from the further tent fields. The washing-up sinks are located: one in the men’s loos/showers and one in the women’s which seemed quite strange and a little unhygienic. There are plenty of loos, but only 2 showers which meant queues and only once in our four night stay was the water warm. The shower heads are fixed (not adjusting at all)and there wasn't any sink cubicles either to get a good wash so my 8 year old had to wash her hair every time. The cooking shelter is a great idea for rainy days, but rather far from the tent fields and I could see that it would get quite crowded. Overall a lovely site and reasonably priced.

Stayed here with a group of fellow motorcyclists to see some of this stunning scenery in Skye. And what scenery there is, absolutely mind blowing never having been here before. We were greeted by a lovely lady in the shop to book ourselves in, she was so friendly, despite us all arriving in convoy. We had a great spot down in the bottom area of the field. There was a caravan club meet of sorts on whilst we were there so the site was quite busy. The facilities were very clean and much better than some we had encountered on our trip. The showers were a little tight on space but were free and nice and warm. We walked to the pub about 1 mile away. Turn right out of the campsite. We saw the landlord at the campsite the next day so they may be connected to the site in some way, but I can't remember the name of the pub but it was the second one not the first one! There was a bothy provided that we used on the last night to sup our cans in out of the wind and tell a few jokes and stories. All in all a fantastic location, great facilities, lovely owner, what more could you want!

Wonderful campsite, very quiet in June when we visited, weather was not brilliant but site has all you need for a quiet and relaxing stay. Do not go to this site if you want night life or noise, its just the opposite, great views across the Loch. Due to the location, peace and quiet, nice owners, good walking and good pitches plus very reasonable prices I think this was the best site we stayed on in our 7 day tour of Scotland. PS - Sorry about the plant pot - yes I am the one who drove over it, but we did rectify quite easily - will visit again soon for a much longer stay.

I stayed for 8 nights in June. First impressions of the site are very welcoming. The people who run it are very friendly and helpful. The facilities are very well maintained, clean and smell fresh! At first the quiet was a little overwhelming but when it came to leave I wished we could have stayed longer. There is a lovely little pub in the next village, and the whole island is accessible from this very central campsite. I cant wait for my next camping trip to Skye, I will definitely be staying at this campsite again!

We love this site and have visited two years in a row. The owners are superb and go out of their way to ensure a relaxing stay (to the extent of getting out a metal detector to help look for lost car keys). The site is relatively level and has lovely views across the loch. Although it is close to the road, it is really quiet except for the sheep in the next field! The showers and toilets are clean and spacious, and there is a little store with freshly baked bread and bottles of locally brewed beer. There are bikes and canoes for hire cheaply and the owners can suggest some good routes. One of the highlights for us was the camping shelter, an old barn with a light and tables and chairs. Totally invaluable when it is really wet and also good for avoiding the worst of the midges.

Stayed at the end of September for 4 nights and were one of only 4 other units on site. The site overlooks the loch and is ideal for exploring the north of Skye. The toilet/shower facilities could do with some updating but were clean and perfectly adequate. The owners were very welcoming and there is a small shop selling basic groceries on site, very useful when the nearest supermarket is 12 miles away in Portree. The limited hard standing is just a thin layer of gravel and was very rutted when we visited but the preceeding week had been exceptionally wet.
A very picturesque location that I would definitely visit again.

Had an enjoyable two nights at Loch Greshornish with some friends at the end of July. Travelling by motocycle it's still sometimes difficult to get a pitch for the night but, as bikers themselves, the owners made us feel very welcome.
The site has good level, easy pitches; clean, well maintained facilities; a handy shop and bothy (handy for socialising/cooking/etc.). Great pub in Edinbane village (about 15 mins walk). Well situated for northern Skye (Uig, Portree, Dunvagen, etc.) Highly recommended!

24th July - 26th July 2004 Very pleasant site in the North of Skye. Good facilities, with shop, toliets and washing areas. The toilets and showers were very clean, with free hot showers.
The site is quite large and the pitches generally seemed to be on flat ground overlooking Loch Snizort.
Given the time of year midgies were a bit of a problem on a couple of nights, but this should not put you off, as long as you have repellant.
The location of the site is good for exploring the North of Skye with Dunvegan and Portree a shortish drive from Edinbane.
Would recommend to anyone visiting Skye to ensure that they have a plentyful gas supply if using small burners, as the varing makes and models of canisters are not always readily available at the local shops. There is a warehouse place on the outskirts of Portree (they have a shop in the town centre - can't remember the name), which is large and had a bigger selection of gas. Also do not expect to be able to do much shopping outwith Portree on a Sunday, even during the busy summer months.

June 2004 Perfect little site. Peaceful and the view over the loch on a nice morning is stunning. Owners nice and very helpful. The toilet facilities could be doing with some updating, otherwise I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a tent/caravan pitch with a view. 10 out of 10, I'll be back!!

Aug 2002 12 Miles north of Portree on th A 850 road towards Dunvegan. Lovely looking site just off the main road on the edge of Loch Greshornish, with views accross the loch. The photos don't do it justice
