We visited this site just for a night on a very rainy day however the site is perfectly placed to walk into the lovely town of Hawes. It seems to be a town full of pubs (great for us) and all we went in accepted our small dog. The campsite itself is very well laid out and the staff were very friendly. Even though it was November, the site was full but it was lovely and quiet and we had a great night's stay there. Will definitely return.

Good site with nice level large pitches. The TV is poor but with a cable connected to the EHU it was fine for channels 1 to 4. Although there was only one shower block it was large enough and very clean with plenty of hot water. The Motorhome service point was easy to use with enough space even for large vehicles. Hawes was only a few minutes walk away and there was a decent dog walk on site with plenty of walks in the hills close to the site. Also found the minor road excellent for cycling (if you like big hills) We will definitely return to this site

Beautiful site, very clean and tidy, very friendly and helpful staff. The pitches are large enough for your caravan, awning and car, and are hard standing, but you do need steel pegs as the ground is very hard, but they do sell these in the shop. The shop is well stocked with all the essentials. One thing I loved about this site was that the showers were free, and very hot, and talk about power shower They nearly blow your head off. Although only one shower/toilet block there is plenty of toilets and private wash rooms and six showers, I never had to wait to use any of the amenities. Also there is a free hair dryer and a plug to use your own hair dryer. There is a working sheep farm next to the site which at times can be a bit noisy but not all the time, and it depends on what part of the site you are on. We took our three greyhounds with us and the dog walk is fantastic and so clean, everyone picked up after their dogs, which is how it should be to keep it nice. At night it is like watership down with all the bunnys, and our greys found it hard to contain themselves at times. The views from the site are lovely and it is one of the best sites we have stayed at in our five years of going to yorkshire.

Originally booked for a 9 night stay but enjoyed it so much we stayed for 12! The site shop has all the basics you may need, eggs, milk, bread, and a few handy items such as rock pegs, TV cable that sort of thing. (TV cable is a must due to poor TV reception in the area, but with the cable plugged in picture is good for BBC1, BBC2, ITV and channel 4.) We were, (as always with the CC,) impressed with how clean the site is kept. Only one toilet block but it is a large one and we never had to wait for toilets or a shower even though the site was full. As we took the dogs the dog walk was fantastic! And I would even go to say that if you haven't taken a dog this walk, (about half a mile ish!) is worth an wander round. The pitches are all hard standing and if you have a awning rock pegs are needed. Pitch sizes are very good, giving space for the van, awning and car all side by side in most. It took us only 7 Min's to amble into Hawes, (and we really do take it easy!) I believe this is one of the most pretty villages I have ever been in. Its cobbled main street, handy Spar, and great eating at the Crown pub, (total of £21 for 2 adults and a child with drinks!) I also purchased half a lamb from the Spar that was only £31 and as for fresh.it was eating grass that morning! Its some of the best lamb hubby has ever had! Another must is to visit the sheepdog demo, just across the road from the site. It was £2 per adult and 50p for kids. A fantastic and informative hour and a half for all! Depending on what you want to do with your time this is the most perfectly located camp site we have visited. We will most definitely be back!
