I know that a lot depends on the weather (and it WAS gorgeously hot & sunny when we camped here) but.
This is a brilliant site! It's in a lovely location, quite remote but good for walking (we walked along the valley to Keld & back) and the Dales are a lot less busy than the Lakes.
The site itself, as the previous person mentioned, is pretty basic but that isn't a bad thing. The toilets are clean & bright but the washing up sinks could do with a face lift. We stayed in the larger field & there was very little noise apart from the cute farm dogs! There was lots of room for the children to play.
The only downside was the fact that it got quite midgey after about 9.30 so we had to sit inside but we were ready for an early night after our walk & beer in the pub.
Talking of which, the Farmers Arms in Muker (about a 10 minute walk through fields) was excellent - good beer & the food looked yummy - we didn't eat there but lots of people were.
This is definitely a site to come back to, probably best for a weekend away for good walking & food & drink!

A small, unassuming campsite that suits a particular type of camper. It is run as part of a small farm.
The main 'field' is a relatively small strip sandwiched between a beck and the road. The road is only a B road and so doesn't get a lot of traffic. When this field is full a second, larger field is opened up on the other side of the road next to the cow shed. We didn't notice any intrusive noise from the road or from farm animals. However, the May late BH weekend we picked featured a steady howling gale the whole time!
There is only one toilet each for both male and female; two showers and two dishwashing sinks which double up as basins for shaving and washing. It also has an electric shaver point. There didn't appear to be anywhere to dispose of portable toilet waste; I used the Gents wc, but I don't use chemicals. There is also a fresh water point.
And that's it, there is nothing else.
As I said, it suits those campers who want the more simple, basic type of site, with a price tag to match. I had a brief chat with one man who had returned every year for over seven years, so it isn't all that bad.
The site is just outside Muker, which has a shop/Post Office and a pub. Muker is about 5-10 minutes stroll from the site.
If you like the simple life and are either prepaed to queue for facilities when the site is busy or are prepared to be flexible, then this site is quite nice. It's a great base to go walking.
