A peaceful campsite with good clean facilities. A few minutes walk from Lancing beach (very quiet pebbly beach) and Lancing station (trains to Brighton and Worthing). Flat, good soil, but not much shelter.
The manager Joe was very friendly and keen to help. Particularly good to see that, despite the busy Autumn holiday week he didn't cram people in so there was still a lot of personal space.
Don't be put off by the proximity of the airport - the only things to disturb our sleep were seagulls! And the planes that go overhead during the day are quite interesting to watch

A very friendly owner, who was on hand day and night if required. When we read other reviews one question kept reoccurring: Would you recommend this campsite to a friend? YES we would!
Jo, the owner is very helpful and friendly. We asked for some foliage to be cut back so we didn't get soaked when filling our kettle, it had been done when we returned later that day!
Also when we are camping, cost is a major factor, the site is good value for money!
We were told the cheapest way to get to Brighton was on the train and the railway station was under a mile away, right next to a supermarket.
The showers are free of charge and the toilets are spotless! What more could you ask for?

Have just finished our third visit to the campsite. Thoroughly enjoyed all our stays. The addition of the new shower/toilet block was very welcome. Another plus was the FREE wi-fi. We took our computer and had superb viewing of the Olympic Opening Ceremony. The site is close to a lovely clean beach and various shops.
Jo was very accommodating (as always) and was a great 'Pied Piper' in herding the swans into the next field after they had landed right outside our tent.
The site is convenient for Lancing/Worthing/Brighton and there is a giant car boot sale on Saturday mornings just past the roundabout towards Shoreman - great stuff, will be returning next year.

Very pleasantly greeted on arrival. Very clean & tidy site kept well maintained, toilet/shower block always kept clean & toilet rolls changed daily by the looks.
Free Wifi a plus so able to keep up with olympics
A nice play area for the kids is always an advantage, as well also a football goal. You can walk dogs along the coast and not too far from asda (around 10mins away).
Great cycle route along coast mostly of the main road so good for kids
Lancing has its own beach stoney at top sandy at bottom 5 mins from site
Bus and train short walk from site
Brighton around 6-7 miles away, nice beaches there too.
Worthing around 2-3. Have just had a few days here & sure would return, a great place to stay

Just spent a few days at this gem of a campsite friendly and made to feel welcome, located in the town of lancing just a short walk from town and beach but feels like the country with horses and wildlife in surrounding fields
The site is simply a large square of grass with electric points with lights on that gives off a good amount of light they are located around the edge, there is a play area (slide/swings) in the centre witch made keeping an eye on my children easy there is a new shower block which has just been installed large and spacious, the shower cubicles (4) easily fitted me and my 2 small children in, there is still a few things to finish although it is more than adequate.
We were very please with our stay and will be returning in the futre

Well me and my wife had a great time here at the barn caravan park. A nice little site clean and tidy.
New shower and toilet block hot and cold running water, ok there were times that the hot showers were cold but a cold shower does not hurt anybody. A very friendly welcome as we pulled in
Not far from beach and town easy access to Worthing and Brighton.
A very basic camp site but well worth a visit.
We will be going back

Just come back from two beautiful days at The Barn caravan park. As other reviews have mentioned the campsite is a real surprise, as is the little village of Lancing where it is located. The site is essentially a green square next to an equestrian centre.
There are views of fields and horses. The play area was nice with swings, slides and small climbing wall and a full size football goal. The new toilet block is fine with everything you need. They are currently installing a washing up area which will be a benefit to those like me who are tenting.
I was greeted by a friendly face and made to feel very welcome my whole stay. The biggest plus point especially if you have children is it is a short 5 minute walk to the beach which is pebbles at the top and sand from the waters edge. It shelves very gently which make it ideal for small children, you would have to go a fair way out for it to be more than four feet deep.
It is also a great place for bikes, there is a cycle path that runs along the front right the way from shoreham to worthing and is a great way to get about. Needless to say l loved the campsite and the area.
The weather was great which always helps but Lancing and worthing are well worth a visit, with a good mix of shops, places to eat, drink and watch the world go by.
I will definitely be going back to The Barn caravan park in the very near future.

Stayed at The Barn camping and caravan park in Lancing. Was our first time camping. We found the camp to be clean and tidy. Showers were hot and staff friendly. Was only a ten minute walk to the beach. Shops were within walking distance too. Even had a chinese take away delivered. Would recommend to families too as the children we saw were playing on large play equipment where parents could see they were safe.

We stayed at this delightful campsite and I was very surprised! I loved the countryside feel surrounded with horses and other wildlife yet we were less than 10minuets walk from the town and the beach. There was also bus and trains to take you to bigger towns of worthing and brighton. The local town stil has a good selection of shops supermarkets restaurant and take aways if you don't want to go further afield.
On the site the children loved that there was a full sized football goal also a small park with slides swings monkey bars etc. I loved that the children could run around playing and we could sit and relax and watch them. There was brick built bbqs and benches also available for everyone to use.
The new male and female toilet shower blocks had just opened and I loved that these were separate as at a lot of small campsites they are together. The shower only had a curtain and that seemed sufficient to me.
We all cant wait to return and my only hope for next time is some better weather.

We have just stayed at the barn and found it very clean and tidy large open space with newly planted trees the showers/toilets where newly installed so there was a few things left to do but should be done shortly although nothing that effected our stay there.
Free wifi was a bonus and there was a pepsi machine selling cold drinks
The beach was a short walk as was the town/shops and easy accses to brighton via car or public transport (train bus close to site)
The staff was very friendly and helpful
We would definitely return
