Great site and location facilities spot on, just didn’t have the weather we wanted but the site was quiet even though full.
Followed Sat Nav and that took us the wrong route but soon corrected it.
Site staff very helpful and friendly.

We had not stayed here for a few years so the refurb was new to us and it's fantastic. 5*
C&CC have made this site even better. Large, tidy, hardstanding pitches with EHU.
The facilities block was clean at all times and we never had to queue although the site was constantly full. Water, Elsan point, undercover washing up area, bins (recycling) all in a central point near the facilities. Barriered site, so always felt safe. Wardens were really great, so friendly and chatty.
We had a pitch in the 'new' section and it was perfect.
Short walk into town, via various routes but all flat. Lots to see and do in Bowness and some great places to eat. We LOVED the Hole in T' Wall pub (best ploughmans ever - highly recommended).
Numerous buses and boat trips (or a combination of the two!) from the lakeside. We caught the bus to Ambleside and back one day (£2 per adult each way) and then caught the boat there too as part of the boat/bus ticket, which also enabled us to stop off in Grasmere and Windermere.
This really is a great site now and we cannot wait to return. We have already recommended to friends who've just joined the club!

This is our first visit since the site was refurbished and we are impressed.
The pitches are bigger (especially the Super Service pitches), much less cramped and the whole site is less tatty and overgrown. A new area has been developed, nearer to the road, populated exclusively by campervans and motorhomes when we were there, though that may have just been coincidence.
The facilities are of a high standard, even the chemical disposal point away from the main block has its own little hut.
The location is obviously still fantastic, with a very short offroad walk to the lake shore and on into Bowness itself - the dogs definitely approve!
Previously the cramped nature of the site was quite offputting for us, but now, as we live fairly locally, we hope to return regularly (though only in low season when the Age Concession makes it more affordable).

October, the perfect time to visit one of the Lake District hotspots, the the trees showing off their golden hues, the early morning mists writhing across Windermere.
The recently renovated site is welcoming as soon as you pull up smiling friendly staff assist the most mundane queries and guide you to the pitch after explaining the amenities, the shop stocks some essentials too!
Pitches are a good size and range from grass, gravel to fully serviced, TV reception is poor, (where in the Lakes is it not?) But free WiFi meant the option for online viewing, correspondence etc is ready at hand, should you not want to sit and absorb the peace.
An A road is close by but no real traffic noise and certainly not at night.
Back to the ammenties all set out close by, refuse, dishwashing dog and welly washing all housed together.
Toilets clean and modern, showers too.
All checked regularly and cleaned daily.
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff.
Approximately 8 - 10 minute stroll gets you past the pleasure boats and into town where a plethora of pubs and eateries are ready to entice.
Just go, you will love it.

I booked fairly last minute and they where most helpful with everything.
Friendly staff, nice food and lots of local beers!
Not sure if the later helped with the Great North swim the next morning though!?!

Lovely site location wighin bowness.
Spoilt by council car park next door which allows overnight stopovers with zero control. Loud noise all night over two nights we stayed kept several awake pitches 69, 68, 67 etc worst effected.
Stay on first part of site to avoid the worst of it.
Grass not cut on many pitches even though nice weather.

A very welcoming site sat right be side Windermere lake,
On arrival met be very efficient and friendly staff who throughout the weekend couldn’t be more helpful.
The site has extremely clean facilities and fantastic surroundings,
The main town of Windermere is a meagre 10 minute stroll from the site where there is countless places to eat and drink and views to die for.
There is at least 2 shops for supplies within walking distance of the site with plenty of things to do all within walking distance.

Fabulous location. Walk around the lake can be accessed from the site. Short walk into Bowness.
Staff friendly and helpful.
Facilities spotless.
We visited in February and the site was busy.
