We had a lovely time. Plenty of places to walk, shop and eat out.
Site is well maintained and the toilet and facilities are immaculate.

A well-kept little site, close to the river one side and a road the other.
The road was quite busy in the morning but quiet otherwise.
Facilities were very clean and well-maintained.
We didn't have children with us but the children on site seemed happy with space to run and play.

I was camping at Westgate about 6 weeks ago and my mam of 74 years old was upset that I didn't take her as she has never been camping before so I booked and she absolutely loved it
The site is fantastic
Helen the host is very nice and we had a fantastic time
Everyone is so friendly as always and my mam wants me to take her again and we will be booking very soon xx

What a lovely friendly welcome.
Field between road & river (hardly any traffic noise)
Toilets & shower very clean.
Good price too.
Footbridge & ford to investigate, as well as the village.
Will definitely return.

Helen was lovely and informative. The facilities were very clean and modern.
The shower were excellent and you can control the temperature. The road was little noisy during the day but quietened down as it got later. Plenty of hook up so was spoiled for choice.
The pub was 5 minute walk down the road however it closes at 4pm on a Sunday.
Plenty of public footpaths near hear and a river behind with a ford.
The price was good at £18 per night with hookup.

Lovely little site in Westgate, Weardale.
Brilliant walks from the site and nice villages throughout the Dale.
The pub has its own brewery and does cracking beers and food.
Facilities are excellent and look that they’ve been updated recently.

Lovely quiet site. Clean and quite luxurious toilets and showers.
Hot water for washing up.
Not a place to, go, if you want nightlife.
But scenery was beautiful.

Quiet and relaxed - modern, clean toilets and shower.
Small site with a number of long term units.
Sited at the edge of the village beside the road.
Lovely countryside on the doorstep.
A 30 min walk to nearest pub.

Great little site. Close to the road but this is generally pretty quiet and it didn't disturb us at all. The river is on the other side and you can hear the river which is lovely. (But watch out for midges etc. In the evening. )
The location is fantastic, with lots of lanes and footpaths straight from the campsite with some stunning scenery, the walk up through Slit Woods past the waterfalls is not to be missed. Lots of wildlife and hardly any people!
St John's Chapel which is about 1. 5 miles up the road has a useful Co-op. There is also a lovely cafe called the Chatterbox Cafe and ew had good roast dinners and homemade pie and chips at the Golden Lion.
The toilet and shower block is modern and kept clean with very regular checks by the owner.
