A nice enough location, well-marked pitch, slightly sloping. Facilities are extensive. Showers have large drying off area.
Sink cubicles I've never seen before, with door, hooks and little corner shelves each. However. Taps don't stay on - press with one hand and try to wash with your spare hand. Hot water can be piping hot, but can't mix with cold as there are no plugs! So wash with cold only. Every one the same.
Second night, every gents toilet had run out of paper. Not a sheet left. And ladies ran out of soap. Very noisy place, too.
The general hub-bub in the evening was quite oppressive at times. The bar had very loud music going till nearly dark. Loud groups went on till well after midnight. "Don't make excessive noise after 11 pm or you could be asked to leave" says the rules. I don't see how when there is no-one around. There was even a fight between campers on our second night! As far as atmos goes, it's no better than 1970s Rhyl. Butlins in a field.

Lovely site in beautiful surroundings, a bit far from from civilisation so pack all your food and drink
Pitch was nice and big, showers and toilets were good, could be doing with another chemical toilet disposal, only one on the site and a bit of a trek
When connecting to the electricity make sure the circular switch is turned round, no one told us.
All round a good site and we will be back

Lovely site, I did feel that the toilet/shower facilities were a bit dated but clean.
I also felt that there should be more than one chemical waste facility for the size of site.
The site was very dog friendly with lots of lovely walks.
Nice pub on site but was disappointed that the restaurant was not open, however there was a snack van but it wasn’t the same as having a nice meal.
Overall I enjoyed my stay but there is a lot of room for improvement.

Lovely setting for a touring site. However was not told you need the key to get in metal hut for elsan, it was long enough to walk too.
For the size of the site it needs more toilet/shower blocks with elsan nearby. Fresh water taps need a thread on them so motorhomes and campervans can fill up.
All the signs on site are very small and hard to read until you are on top of them.
It was a shame management didn't check the touring field would be full this weekend as it needed more experienced bar /food staff on duty.
In my opinion the bar menu was too expensive for what it had to offer. Booked for Sunday roast, specifically said "roast dinner" only to be told on the day, only bar menu available. The staff with there inexperience could not cope with the demand, which in turn made it not an enjoyable weekend

Great site, highly recommend. Staff are very helpful and pleasant. Site has one way system throughout easy to navigate to pitch. If you need to I would recommend filling with water before finding your pitch as the chemical area is just after the reception.
Depending on pitch this could be a long walk back down. Pitches are spacious which is good But if you do want to use the facilities they are a bit of a walk. However drinking water and bins are easily accessible through the site.
Grounds are very well maintained likewise so are the toilets and showers. Ladies toilets are a little dated but very clean with more modern shower block. My partner informed me the male toilets and shower are again very clean and ideal but dated (he didn’t like shower curtains)
We visited the bar just for a quick pint. Great staff and service, beer was enjoyable nice an chilled. Football was on too so bonus. Wide selection of gin. I even saw a wee dart board inside. 9 hole golf course.
£10 for the day which was great given the unpredictable weather or £20 for the month entrance just at reception so walking distance.
Tee boxes are a little up and down for getting the right footing but course was in good condition. Flat course with some tree obstacles and a couple of bunker but enjoy round and great value.
Spotted lots of walking signs but can’t comment of them as didn’t have time. But nice play areas if you have kids.

Lovely site, loads of space. Very clean. Lacking pot wash amenities and could do with another toilet block. Really enjoyed the 'treasure hunt' on our last morning.
Finding the motorhome service point was fun! But the best one was trying to find the place we could leave the amenities keys when we left at 8. 45am. (Site office only opens at 10am on Sunday!) We eventually found a small red box with a very small notice stating Keys situated round the corner. Perhaps a notice on the office door would help.

The castle grounds, Golf course and bar was really lovely and well maintained.
Very nice people here and the laundry and some loos were open but not the showers, anti bacterial cleaning cloths in all public areas to keep things clean.
Great area for dog walking along the river Annan and we would definitely come back.

Stayed here on a recommendation from friends. Not far from the M74, its a good spot for those travelling north or south.
The site is very large and was very busy on our first visit, but the pitches are so far apart, you wouldn't have known it. Facilities are dated, but were very clean, and the site is very well looked after.
The on site bar/restaurant was a bit of a disaster, waiting 10 minutes to order drinks, but it may have been a one off. Plenty to do there, golf, fishing, walking, so we will be back.
