We are quite local (13 miles) from Lyndon top, but really love to stop for a few nights at a time as the cycling all around Rutland Water and the Hambleton Peninsular is great, 99. 999% traffic free, and with stopping on the campsite we can get out on the trails early.
Lyndon top has a very easy booking system via it's website, once booked you are sent a gate key number for entry.
The site is huge with several different fields to choose from, the bottom one has unobstructed views over Rutland water, the next one up has semi views and the one behind this no views of the water but is probably the most sheltered, all depends what you want. Having said how big it is, there has always been plenty of room and most times you can find a deserted pitch area if you want to stay away from any other campers
There are plentiful water taps and 2 x chemical disposal points.
The warden is very friendly and available if you need help, otherwise you are left to enjoy this lovely site.

Really nice spacious site with great views of Rutland water. Very helpful site warden.
The pitches are mostly flat, but some may need small levelling blocks.
Water taps & recycling on site, but no waste water drain for motorhomes.
Highly recommended and very quiet during the working week. (Busy at weekend)

Arrived for the weekend with two children.
Nice area. Quite a lot of dogs running loose which we didn’t like having very young children.
Also a few bits of dog poo probably due to the freely running dogs. I would not come again as this did ruin our break.
Really the rules should be adhered to. Dogs on a lead!

Excellent site.
Access and departure spot on which meant we could stay longer.
We live 40 minutes away and have said this will be our regular pitch up for RW as we were so impressed.
Very well kept pitch areas and booking first class.

Fabulous site with wonderful views over Rutland Water. Fabulous walks and cycle path.
Only negative was returning to our van on our last afternoon to the sight of many more vans (large group together), fairly close to us, and three noisy generators plugged into the new vans that had arrived. Luckily they didn't keep going all night.
Friendly group of people but somewhat changed the quiet ambience!

A lovely restful site with magnificent views of Rutland water.
You do need to be geared for being completely "off grid" apart from water.
Good mobile signal and radio/TV.
Plenty to do around and about, in close proximity. Walking, cycling, bird watching and fishing are some of the basics.
Enjoy.

Absolutely lovely site will definitely be back. Great for dog walking and cycling. Beautiful view over Rutland Water.
Easy to book online, park we’re you like.
Camp site went very quiet at 11pm. If it’s the outdoor and fresh air you want or beautiful sunset with BBQ and glass of wine then this is your place to be.
Was able to get 4G and good phone signal. Also able to hire electric bike from the site.

If you like free format wide open spaces with simple water, CDP and rubbish bin facilities then this site is for you!
Great for multiple unit groups or just a single spot there will be space here.
Just self contained units at present and no tents.
We stayed this time with a C&CC rally and there were 90+ of us but there were also three more clubs on site but as it's so large you never feel crowded.
Golf club next door is good for a bite to eat and beer!
Just fields so don't expect a kids playground but plenty of space for games.
