 What a gem of a site, spacious, quiet, great views, wonderful shower/wash rooms, and a great little cafe, which does get busy !
Good base for exploring Edinburgh, Glasgow and the area between.
The drive in is "interesting" Garmin Camper takes you the long way round ! Direct route from Linlithgow is very steep and twisty, but well worth it !
Good value for money, and would definitely return if back in the area

Last minute booking for 2 nights and so pleased we did. Council run site in the Country Park. It is one of the best ever council sites.
You choose your pitch when you book online.
Birch Glade is akin to CL just above main site and shares facilities with tents.
Main site is a further 4 x CL /glade areas but more open.
Pitches are ginormous, on gravel and many need levellers. Every pitch has electric, water, waste and there is chem disposal at centre of site. Both facilities blocks are immaculate and key coded.
Entrance to the site is through a barrier for which you are given a tag to operate.
The reception /visitor centre /cafe sells drinks, meals etc and is open til 7pm.
There are miles of waymarked paths for walking and cycling. The play park for children was 10-15 minute walk but seemed to be enough to keep kids there for hours.
Site / reception staff are really helpful and friendly.
At £27 including electricity and showers its a steal.

We had heard recommendations so looked at the comprehensive website and booked online.
The pitches are massive and very well maintained as is the site as a whole. The one we had chosen backed on to the adjacent forest which was full of birdsong and provided plenty walks for us and our two dogs.
The site is situated on fairly high ground so the views all around, especially to the north are great.
We couldn't get any TV nor satellite nor 4G on that pitch, so sufficed with the radio and a couple of DVDS in the evenings.
The site is well serviced with waste and recycling points, fresh water and Elsan points, however, there is only one drive over motorhome grey waste point which is half way around the one way road system. As we were parked "below" this point, we carried a waste hog with us and emptied regularly rather than driving out of the site and back in to use the drive over point.
Minor points aside, we thought this is one of the best sites we've ever stayed on - and there are many - and we will definitely return.

We stayed there for one night only but we would love to come back.
The campsite is very well maintained.
Each pitch has A LOT of space (sth ive never seen before), facilities are great (shower room was actually bigger than my bathroom), you can choose to stay just in front of the forest or a little higher.
It is a very quiet area with a lot of birds singing :)
The location is great where you can walk around in a beautiful forest, walk around the Loch or go to look at quite a lot of sheep.

Had a lovely few nights at this lovely campsite,
Was able to enjoy beautiful walks throughout the forest and parks around the site, sit and enjoy the quietness reading a book listening to the birds and then visiting the lovely coffee shop for coffee and cake after my walk.
Toilet were a little dated but were warm and functional.
Would definitely return to this site.

Excellent site, recommended by friends and it didn't disappoint. Impressive informative Council website, look at the site map before booking your chosen pitch online.
We liked being in 'Birch', it felt like a CS or CL, spacious with only 6 huge pitches and views west - a bit exposed, but we could park the best way for shelter from the wind.
Deer came past our pitch. The nearby tent field facilities block was smaller than the one serving the other camping & glamping areas, and was quiet and clean, the 'bathrooms' were bigger than ours at home, with free hairdryers; no queues on our visit mid week.
Comprehensive recycling. No Wi-Fi, feeble 4G signal.
Helpful friendly staff at the visitor centre, with a cafe, shop with leaflets for walks, and an informative viewpoint looking east. Countless walks & cycle routes round the Country Park and Beecraigs Loch, with several large play areas.
We walked uphill to the moving Scottish Korean War Memorial, and up again to Witch Craig where (on a clear day) you can see coast to coast - Arran to Bass Rock.
We came via Bathgate and left via Linlithgow (worth visiting); both routes a bit tricky (narrow, bendy, busy). We'll be back - the views are astonishing, and there's more to explore.

Nice site. Toilets clean and warm. If I have any complaint it's that the shower and toilets are designed as wet rooms which means everything in the room gets wet.
There's no curtain around the shower (you get a room with a toilet and shower in to yourself).
The only thing is that there aren't enough showers for the whole site so there are queues and the site wasn't even a quarter full.

Very friendly polite staff
Marvellous shower and toilet facility
Plenty of space to enjoy the scenery
Not far from Linlithgow which is nice

Have to say wasn’t sure what to expect but a lovely site.
Very spacious pitches but if you have an awning be prepared for hard work putting In pegs.
Toilets and showers very clean.
Nice cafe on site.
Excellent walks for the dogs. Short walk from site to kiddies play area or you could take the car.
Only little negative bit was for emptying the toilet you had to go to the other campsite at other side to empty it. We were okay as we just emptied it on way home but if you were staying longer maybe wouldn’t be so convenient.
Saw lots of wild life and very peaceful at night.
Staff extremely helpful and lovely.

Thoroughly enjoyed our “extended” stay at Beecraigs awaiting the birth of our latest grandchild and scoping out the area for prospective places to live.
Lovely walks in Beecraigs Country Park which were much appreciated by our dog!
The inquisitive deer took a great interest in her.
The staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful.
Would thoroughly recommend to anyone.
