This was our first visit to this site and would consider returning again. It is situated in a country park and the pitches are very generous.
The views of the site were brilliant. Showers and toilets very clean and spacious shower rooms so was easy to shower the younger ones.
Unfortunately we didn't have time to use any of the playpark or other facilities on the park as we had planned day trips during our visit but we spoke to a very friendly staff member who advised us of the full local attractions.
The site also had communal bbq area which we thought was a great idea although we were situated quite far away from the area to use it.

First time we have visited this site. Have previously tried but its always been fully booked, Very popular! Great site with lovely walks and great playpark for kids in woods. Plenty of visitors to park but caravan site still kept separate and didn't feel overlooked.
My other half went fishing on loch, which was reasonably priced and he caught several even in the rain!
Facilities were good as described in previous reviews, though I think when the site is in full summer season four unisex showers would be very busy.
There is a bit of storm damage as mentioned, but they are working very hard to get all the paths open. They are also working on one of the caravan areas which meant a lot of noisy diggers and tractors, but my little boy loved this! It did look as though this would be finished in next couple of weeks.
Didn't go to restaurant as very busy and think you needed to book in advance. We had quite a wait to book into site due to the waitress having to deal with busy restaurant as well as campsite bookings. I felt sorry for her!
My 3 year old son loved this site with all the wildlife and walks. My other half cant wait to come back fishing! So will definitely be back.

Second time we have stayed at the site. The pitches are gravel and very big. The toilet block is the best we every used on a site. The play park in the woods is great, it is for people not staying at the site as well.
Due to the storms a lot of the trees have been blowned down in the forest and a lot of the the walks were closed for safety. But some were still open. Plus you could tell they were doing the best they could.
Linlithgow is only a short drive away with plenty of shops and takeaways. Also a nice walk round the loch. It also has the union canel which is great for walkers or bikers.

We have visited Bee Craigs several times over the past 2 years, we love it. Although there are only two of us our Grandchildren frequently spend a few nights with us, and love it too, going exploring in the forest. We like the arrangements of Pitches in groups of about 6, and have had no problems with noise from other campers.
The toilets are superb, quite the best equipped and cleanest we've seen. Have had no problems with electricity, but the hard standing makes it difficult to get even rock pegs to hold. There is a new electronic security gate, which improves site security and access, and check in is via the restaurant. We always approach it from Bathgate direction, from where it is well signposted.
There are lots of walks in the forest surrounding the site, and a new children's play area on the site. There is a separate camping area, with its own toilet block. There is lots of wildlife on site and in the surrounding area. We saw a badger, squirrels and loads of rabbits on the site.
The Visitor's centre for the Country Park is just across a quiet lane from the camp site, and there is lots of information on places to go in the Country park, and a small shop.
We always try to visit the on site Restaurant which service excellent food at reasonable prices.
Linlithgow is the nearest town, with lots shops, historic buildings, including the palace and a great walk around the Loch if you you have an hour or so to spare. Trains also run from here to Edinburgh and Glasgow. On the other side there is a major shoppping centre at Livingston Retail outlet.

This caravan site is in a beautiful forest. It has lots of walks to do. There is a go ape in the forest which is brill for the kids. There is also a play park for the children. You can visit the deer park and fishing area too so plenty to keep you busy.
There is linlithgow palace to visit too which is in the town.
The town linlithgow has plenty of shops for everything you might need.
The toilets were lovely and clean. They smelt really nice.
I had problems with the electric tripping off but that was the only downside.

The site is well signposted from the main road, although I have never seen so many speed bumps - several different types and not well marked. But eventually, very slowly, we reached the campsite.
First problem - all the signs tell you to check in at the restaurant. So we parked, walked to the restaurant - only to find a small notice telling us to go to the park visitor centre. Once we found it, and had waited while the staff patiently dealt with a group of non-English speaking tourists wanting to use the fishing pond, we were eventually able to check in. There is a £10 refundable deposit for a key to the electricity supply box.
Second problem - the pitches are in clusters of six in a circular arrangement (like the petals of a flower). Three pitches in our group had been taken over by one extended family, who had a big party going on their side - barbeque, beer flowing, loud music, the works. We couldn't move to a different pitch as most of them were closed for renovation. We just had to put up with it.
Apart from that, the site was fine. All the pitches are hardstanding (apart from a few grass ones for tents), and plenty big enough. The pitch got muddy after heavy rain, but it soon dried out. Toilet block was immaculate, with a code for entry which wouldn't work on one occasion (luckily, there is a second door). There was a good play area, and plenty of room for dogs, cycling and children. We didn't try the restaurant.
One final problem - you have to wait until the visitor centre opens before you can get the refund for the key, so no possibility of an early start. The lock on our box was broken anyway, so the key was a waste of time.

Mixed views on this site as there both positives and
The positives are:
Excellent toilet block and showers Lovely location. Lovely walks and park on doorstep. Very quite
Negatives
1) Electric kept tripping for no apparent reason 2) For a weekend getaway not much use as they wouldn't consider a late check out( even though there were lots of spaces on a Sunday afternoon, so had to be off be 12pm 3) Whole area consisted of hardstanding black ash so when it was wet it was very dirty on the feet. 4) New pitches were too small - only 2 of 3 of caravan, caravan and awning catered for.
As mentioned by others the access roads are a bit of a nightmare made worse by a diversion due to road closures when we were there.
Also they seem to have moved the reception / check in from the restaurant to the visitor centre. This was a significant walk away through the forest (a couple of hundred yards) and our friend visiting at the same time was on her own with 2 small children (2 and 4) - not ideal for them and don't think they have considered that.
The above seems more negative than positive but in general it was quite good and although not a first choice would go back

Even though we have rather limited experience when it comes to camping, this campsite does seem to be one of the best we have stayed at. This campsite proved a brilliant place at which to spend the night on the way to the Knockhill Racing Circuit.
The facilities were excellent and were definitely value for money. The campsite provided us with a friendly atmosphere that would suite families allow there is a lack of things to do in the campsite itself.
There is, within close proximity, activities but as we did not use these, we cannot really comment on them. In the evening, the surrounding trees made it a pleasant place to be and you are never too far away from the facilities if you need to use them during the night.
The site does seem a little bit crowded at times but at ten o’clock all the noise died away in our case and we were able to get a good night sleep.
All in all, this is a good campsite that we are planning to use again.

Stayed here two nights myself my husband and our two dogs. Toilet block very clean and tidy and our pitch was great and very quite. Deposit for key £5 which was for the electric box.
Lovely woods and surrounding area Linlithgow is a lovely town with plenty of shops and garages etc.
Everything was good apart from the security on site as gates were left open most time and cars and van were driving in and turning around clearly not stopping on site.
Tried restaurant and had two excellent meals

We arrived in the pouring rain. Road didn't pose any problems, which have been previously reported. The views from the approach road were much better than the views on the campsite.
Site itself very muddy. It is still being 'built' and looks like it will be quite nice in 5 years time.
There was no motorhome service point. When my husband asked at reception if there was one, the reply was 'you'll have to find a garage in town'! Clearly the workers in the restaurant have no experience as campers, which is a real shame. It was difficult to tell where we were in the park- a map on booking in would have been helpful. It is now a £10 deposit for the hook up key.
The toilet block was excellent. Clean, warm and very spacious.
Roads around too narrow to cycle to Linlithgow safely-you really need a car if you want to go anywhere. Easy parking in local Sainsburys for 7ft motorhome. No mobile phone reception.
