Shhhh! This might be one of the best kept secrets in Central Scotland! Just home from a brilliant weekend stay. The hardstanding pitches are huge (van, awning and car in front fits easily), with planting between each van. If you are using an awning you will need strong pegs. 16A EHU point box (£5 deposit on key) is positioned between two so you need a 25m long cable if you are on the right, or you will be tripping over the cable all weekend! The pitch areas are cut-outs in the forest (100ft pines) with 6-8 vans in each area.
Toilet block is immaculate and warm, each shower cubicle is actually an individual bathroom! Very quiet site. A huge play park that the kids loved is 500 yards walk through the forest, walks through the deer farm, and fish farm are all free, and there is miles of road for cycling and walking through the park. Activities, fishing etc are all available at extra cost. Did not use the restaurant, but looked very good, and prices look reasonable at about £15-£20 for 3 courses.
The Activity centre/deer farm shop sells post cards, toys etc and Venison from the farm, but no bread milk papers etc. Tesco is only 10 mins drive away in Linlithgow.
The road from Linlighgow (Preston Road) is very steep and winding, I would not like to tow up that way, find an alternative route. It is worth it! B8046 and farm roads are fine if approaching from the East.
This is a very quiet site that we will go to again and again!

Beautiful woodland site , all caravan pitches are well laid out in a 6 petal style design giving ample room for any size of caravan and awning . Toilet Facilities are among the best I have seen very modern and well maintained . Loads of nature style woodland walks / cycle tracks etc , there is also a fishery and deer farm nearby . 5 star Restaurant at entrance to site , and a couple of miles from the local shops in Linlithgow . Highly recommended for the walkers , cyclists and people who like a quiet peaceful site .

A very quiet site in the forest. Toilet blocks clean and warm with plenty of hot water. There is no on site shop, or ice pack exchange facilities, and although the food in the restaurant was ok, the service left a lot to be desired! You cannot park your car next to your tent here, although this makes for a nicer environment, and the car park is very close. A good site for those wanting to escape, and all the children I saw on this site seemed to be having a great time playing in the trees. There is a very big play park nearby which is a 5 mins walk through the trees too.

Just got back from an excellent weekend. This is a good campsite if you enjoy peace and quiet and the great outdoors with lovely woodland walks. Only a short drive from lovely Linlithgow where you can find all the usual shops. Hardstanding pitches were large enough for a big twin axle and allowed room for an awning too. Lots of shade due to tall trees all round. Toilets and showers were modern and spotless clean (pity they did not have a mop or a squeegy handy to clean up after yourself right enough). 1/2 bath was a boom for kids. Great for active kids with a huge play area in Country Park. Take your bike along as loads of safe cycling tracks. We had a meal in the Restaurant and its was fairly priced with friendly and fast service and quality food. Near to Livingstons McArthur Glen outlet for some designer shopping too if the weather turns nasty. Deep see world was good for a visit and not too far to drive. This site gets my recommendation.

This is a great site. The grandchildren loved it as there is a big adventure play park nearby. The toilet and showers are the best of any park we have stayed at. Each individual washroom has a shower, wash basin and toilet. I took the two boys in with me and their was plenty of room for us all to get showered and dressed. The restaurant on the site was busy and looked very good but we did not visit it on this occasion. We will certainly be back.

Secluded and well maintained this is a fantastic site for those who like outdoor activities but don’t like crowds. The facilities are clean warm and looked after, and the site is laid out to ensure privacy (for the caravans at least!).
The forest park is the main reason to visit with trails and walks, a deer and a trout farm, and plenty of space to cut loose.
Linlithgow is a nice enough little town with sufficient shops and places to visit including the palace – the ex royal seat of Scotland.
Would definitely recommend to a friend.

July 2003 Very nice forested park, plenty of walking trails and a real good resterant. The tenting field was on a slight slope. A real good family area, however not the best place if you're hoping for peace and quiet away from the sounds of playful children. The on-sight facilities are deffinatly well kept.

august2002 this is a superb site with excellent walks, especially around beecraigs loch, where you can watch the fly fishermen at work, the toilet block was clean and warm ,showers were superb in your own shower room, only one toilet was a bit of a minus, could do with more. electricity was a bit on the dear side for summer, theres an excellent restaurent at the site entrance and views over firth of forth are stunning, shops are nearby in linlithgow which has at least 3 supermarkets , a very nice site

Well, last weekend I stayed at a really good site in West Lothian Scotland. Run by West Lothian District Council, Beecraigs Country Park has a really good site. It has pitches for tents and caravans, and has excellent amenities, ( I would even go so far as to say the best I have experienced !) The toilet block was exceptionally clean and warm and the showers really good. Although there is no shop on site, Linlithgow and Bathgate are very handy and there are good shopping facilities in either place.
Situated in a forest, Beecraigs Country Park has a Deer Farm and a Trout Fishery, it is an ideal place to be, whether you wish to travel and use it as a base or indeed to stay on the site itself. There is an excellent restaurant close to the site, or if you wish, there are fixed barbecue areas at various locations. There is a really good adventure play park for the kids and endless walks to tire everyone out..........Overall a lovely place to be and very quiet.
