Showers and toilets need updating not cleaned whilst we were there.
Getting into town was a nightmare had to walk through farmers field that was full of nettles not nice when you have shorts on in hot weather.
Bus eventually came.
Went into town didn't like the town much either. 😕

Sadly we only got to stay at Manston for one night due to such high winds.
The night we did stay was very nice and we had a good time. The children’s play park was excellent and the kids loved it and very safe.
The space we had was great and electricity and water all easy access.
I would say the toilet and shower blocks need a revamp as quite outdated but really clean and water was hot.
Children loved seeing the chickens and horses on site and check in was really easy on arrival.
Hopefully we will be able to visit again. Thanks

Stayed here for one night recently. It is still very much a work in progress - lots of building work going on. Fortunately we didn't need to use the toilet block as it is very tired now.
Camping field had been cut and the cuttings were left in the field.
Very expensive for what it is - wouldn't call this good value at all.

This site is a work in progress but no progress is being made, we visited previously in 2015 nothing appears to have changed. Facilities nothing special, toilets and showers dated. 10 min walk to nice pub. No site wifi. Bus stop near pub but buses rare - get a taxi, quite cheap in Thannet. Toilets and showers did not appear to be cleaned during our stay, always toilet paper over the floor. Will not be visiting again.

We're long time visitors to this site as the location and convenience of it is perfect for our Bank Holiday weekends, and this is my 3rd review.
As much as I'm sure we'll be back, we were feeling a bit let down with our last two trips here, a couple of years ago it looked for a while that the site was was on the up but there's been continual building work on the site for around 4 years now (maybe it's just very slow progress) but some of the trenches have been there for 3 years now and on our last visit last time there was a couple of large areas dug up and unattractive. And unfortunately the showers failed again over the bank holiday weekend (and it wasn't particularly busy). I think we'd accept some of the idiosyncrasies a bit better were it not so very expensive here, it was £40 a night for a tent pitch for just 2 of us, we paid more here for 3 nights than our recent 7 night stay in Cornwall in a much better facilitated site.
The good thing about this site is the Jolly Farmers pub a 10 minute walk from the site which is a great family friendly pub, and the sites location to the rest of the Isle Of Thanet.

The immediately preceding review so nearly put me off camping for this weekend away at all as I didn't fancy camping on a building site but couldn't find anywhere else in the area that wasn't a holiday park type affair. We put the tent etc in the car but didn't book, thinking now we would find a B&B if the campsite at Manston looked awful.
On arrival we were pleased and surprised - it's a very comfortable and spacious site with nicely kept grass and flat pitches. Sure there are a few 'projects' on the go but nothing that impeded our enjoyment of being here.
Only stayed for one night so didn't use any facilities other than toilet and shower which weren't the most modern but perfectly adequate. One toilet (out of 8) a and one shower (out of 4) in the ladies were out of order. There is a laundry with washers and dryers and a footpath through to the local pub which is very nice and seems popular with locals.
Site did seem a little expensive at £24 / night for two people in a tiny tent.

Such a shame. Took a trip for Whitsun weekend and was badly disapointed. This site has deteriorated badly in the last couple of years. Loads of half finished 'projects' mean the place is looking like a building site, with trenches for pipes and cables still not filled in and the yellow builders fencing still there. Entrance drive modifications still not done and, again, builders fencing and rubble spoiling the site.
No improvements to the shower block and some showers now don't work properly. The ladies toilet was wet underfoot (still) and some cubicles were still locked off (about two years now).
This site was lovely a few years ago and can be again, but the building works must be completed and the site tidied up for the campers. And soon!
Its a great location and I want to return again, but.
Please sort it out Manston Caravan and camping.

We were lucky enough to get in over the Bank Holiday week-end, this was our first visit to the site. The main entrance to the site is a picture, very well done. The warden was really helpful and explained everything to us. We were put on a grass pitch as there was no hard standing pitches, unfortunately we had a lot of rain and just managed to get of the grass.
There is plenty of room on the site and the grounds are just great, the big let-down was the shower block, it is rather dated, it seems to be dirty all the time. It was cleaned daily but due to the age you could not notice it had been done. The large waist bins were over full and thus rubbish went everywhere.
I do realise that the site was very busy, but impressions count.
Would we use it again. ( Maybe ).

Visited end of August beginning of September. Great site, lovely and flat. Showers and toilets were very clean. Very nice warden. We were a big group, 18 of us and we were all very welcome. Handy having a pub just down the road that you can get too from a style in the corner of the field. Ramsgate is full of shops, BIG shops, which is just five minutes down the road. Very laid back site, just how it should be. Will be going back again.
