The site was in a great location with a bus route to the city centre. Pity they stop just after four got a taxi back cost £13 which wasn't too bad.
The loos and showers were excellent and clean.
And the staff were very friendly and eager to help.

We booked to stay for a couple of nights as my husband was taking part in an event at the water sports centre, location is perfect for that. Check in was all remote via email that came with the code for the gate, toilet & showers along with our pitch.
All the pitches on the main site are on little sidings with street names, unfortunately there wasn’t a name on our “street” so had to ask at the shop (no on site reception). Once located our pitch was fine, level with EHU in easy reach, although a little snug especially when busy.
The thing that lets the site down is the bathroom block, admittedly it was a bank holiday weekend and there were lots of adults and children on site but I don’t think that’s any excuse for the state of the toilets and showers.
The sinks were grimy and the floors in the showers were no better. Showers with only hooks on the door, no curtain to stop the water from any clothes that you had managed to pile onto the hooks.
The shower itself was hot, probably too hot for children in my opinion. One morning there was a chap in the ladies who I think was a cleaner, however he only had one cloth that he was rinsing in the sink - I only hope he wasn’t using it in the toilets (where the sanitary bins were, in some cases, stained with dried on excrement).
Obviously the general day to day muck is coming from the campers, but the ingrained grime around the sinks etc is a long standing issue of inadequate cleaning.
There was a separate additional shower block which I didn’t use so cannot comment on those services.
All in all it’s a fairly decent site which is being let down by the standard of cleaning in the toilets & showers.

We really liked this site. There was shade from trees and plenty of space to play. It felt safe to ride bikes around.
The play area was really good although surprised there was no slide!
The shop wasn't the best but was kindly directed to a great co op a 10 min bike ride. Was really easy and bike friendly to get to the river and the watersport lake.
Plenty of toilets. The individual shower cubicles got a bit stuffy as they didn't have enough ventilation and a bin next to the washing up sinks would have been good.
Would recommend and would stay again to explore Nottingham.

We did not enjoy this site to be honest.
Shop was not open, nothing around the site to do.
The facilities are a little run down. Pitches are close together.
We will not return

First arrived to our pitch and could not pitch as had been taken by someone else, pitches very close together
And toilet facilities are absolutely disgusting sanitary bins full and not emptied for the 4 days we were there never any toilet paper in the toilets and no mop to clean after a shower so always wet and muddy. Being someone with a medical disability I require clean toilets and this was not the case

Quiet and peaceful as non peak time. Well organised for Covid. Clean facilities. Site well kept.
Ideally placed for cycle routes into the city and beyond.
No WiFi yet which perhaps makes it a bit overpriced.

Great facilities, showers were the best I've ever found in a campsite (and included in the price), but very expensive for solo bike packing trip.
It may be fine for bigger setups.

We stayed here for 2 nights on a electric grass pitch, the site was spacious with good quality, clean shower blocks.
Just up the road, 15 min walk, was the no. 11 bus stop for direct access into Nottingham which was very handy.

Nice site across from the watersport centre.
Code entry through the barrier, plenty of space for the pitch.
Electric hook up.
Small park for kids on site but when you have the watersports centre 5 minutes walk away its no problem.
Toilets on site, keypad entry were clean, didn't use showers.
Small shop on site (didn't use)
Can leave at 4pm if you wish on sundays which is good.
Easy access.
Plenty of places to visit by car in the area if that's your thing, Nottingham Castle, Sherwood Forest, Matlock etc, Derby etc etc.
Plenty of space for my two year old to run about on without bothering other campers.
Already booked another break there next month so recommend it.
My ideal site is somewhere I can relax with a fresh bacon butty in my hand, have room for the little one to play, good dog walks and things to do if I want to. So this site ticks all the boxes for me
