This is a large family oriented campsite located just a few yards from the National Water Sports Centre and a couple of miles from Nottingham city centre. Because of this the site gets VERY busy when events are being held at the NWSC.
The pitches are generally well maintained (apart from the litter problem I encountered) and well lit.
I arrived one day after a recent event to a site that had an empty shop and full rubbish bins. Granted it's not strictly the fault of the managers. But this is what was found at the time.
The toilets/showers are functional but due to a lack of opening windows. They stank horribly.
There is a well equipped children's play area near the office/shop.
I will hope to visit again so as to give a better review

My wife and I ran a rally at this site for 27 caravans and motorhomes in June 2014. The location for visiting Nottingham and surrounding areas cannot be beaten. Take a 10 minute stroll to the bus stop and within 15 minutes you are in the centre of Nottingham, a great place for history and culture and great shops.
If you prefer to take a walk or cycle ride, there are so many options in and around the National Water Sports Centre. Interest is everywhere, with canal and riverside strolls, or watch the brave canoeists tackling the white water rapid course.
The campsite itself is ideal for all. For families there is an excellent children's playground and five-a-side football pitch. Free showers are provided. The approach to the campsite is well signed and the entrance and access roads, easy to navigate.
The site shop has a selection of foods and goodies for children. If you need any advice the managers, Wayne and Marie are on hand. We found their help and advice invaluable.

Not a site we will be booking again. We went there for our first ever rally, so enjoyed the company and our entertainment, but as for the site.
Toilets were a portakabin, not that clean and thankfully the weather was warm else we would have froze. Showers we were told were the other end of the adjoining caravan field.
Not enough of them there, not that clean and definitely not worth the walk. For the first time ever we used our own 'facilities' and will not be returning.

Stayed on this site for 10 days. It's a nice site with great staff who are keen to help. The pitches are a good size and easy to find. The toilet block is a bit dated but is clean and well lit. There is a good size play area for children with a giant sand pit.
The site is in a great location with lots of activities available at the water sports centre. There are no laundry facilities on site but these are available in several locations nearby.

We chose this campsite due to its location, a short walk away you will find great transport links into Nottingham, and its in a great location.
The staff were friendly and its a good size with plenty of level pitches.
The downsides are the toilets, dated and with respect to the disabled facilities, absolutely filthy. But that's the only downside I can think of.
Would definitely use again.

Mixed feelings about this site, we stayed here as we had an event in Nottingham.
Hard standings differ in size from pitch to pitch, toilets and showers reasonably clean.
It's a large-ish site lot's of space for tents though there were only a few with youngsters in them while we were there.
I can imagine a lot of groups in the better weather.
Quite a lot of goose poo around which can be mistaken for dog poo.
There seemed to be quite a few children, some very very young, wandering round and playing in the dark which I found a little disturbing, of course this was not the fault of the site.
The bus stop for Nottingham is about 10 minute walk down the road, fares were very reasonable.
We walked over to the water sports centre to watch the canoes and boats going down the rapids, and walked around the area, on a nice day it would be nice to take a picnic.
One or two areas which could easily be improved i. E water tap could do with a slab or similar at base as it got muddy.
Might stay again if I wanted to visit Nottingham.

At first sight, this looks like a nice site, however things rapidly went downhill. First, checking in was very easy and we were allocated our pitch. The pitches are fair sized, no complaints there. The toilets were very poor standard, very dated, and if cleaning means you throw a bucket of water around the floor then I suppose they were cleaned, the wash basins were very dated and felt dirty, needed a good scrub with some Ajax or some other cleaner. The grassed area which I suppose is a tenting field, or a play area for kids was absolutely littered with dog dirt, we had to be very careful where we walked.
The reception pitched us near the entrance just behind a large Marquee which we thought nothing of when we arrived, but at 7:30pm a disco started with extremely loud and very poor quality music playing till 10:30, well past the sites own rules of 'no excessive noise after 9:30 policy'. I think the reception might have mentioned this on our arrival.
All in all I couldn't wait to leave this site after 1 night, long enough for us, and feel I should have complained at the site for a full refund.

Just returned from the Halloween weekend event.
It was absolutely fantastic!.
All the staff were extremely helpful, approachable, and fun.
They really did go above and beyond to make the whole weekend a massive success for everyone. Lots going on for all ages including supervised Segways, competitions, fancy dress, etc
The site was spotless all weekend.
There was no issues with shower availability or cleanliness.
Childrens play area. Table tennis. Massive marquee with beer and food available
Fireworks displays were amazing.
Will definitely return

The good things about this site:
It's location, just 3 miles from Nottingham city centre and, if it's of interest to you, right on the door step of the National Watersports Centre.
The Bridge public house is about 20 minutes walk away and serves adequate food which is good value with very pleasant service.
The less good points include:
Very small, narrow hard standing. Only just wide enough for the caravan which meant we had to walk on the adjacent grass every time that we entered the caravan. And as the grass was more than a little boggy we invariably carried mud into the caravan.
There was dog mess around the waterpoint.
The chemical toilet point was basic at best and not alongside a path.
The keypad for the entry barrier was on the nearside which was difficult for a driver without a passenger.
There was an overall feeling that more maintenance and care was required. However although we didn't use them, the toilets and showers looked reasonable although the site was very quiet on our visit.
Overall, I'd say it was adequate but with a little effort could be so much better.
