May 2005 Cheap and cheerful large site. Despite being Bank Holiday weekend and a rowing regatta on, managed to get on site. The only down side was the showers and toilets not being cleaned regularly and by the end of the weekend masses of rubbish piling up around the site. Just not enough bins. This site is in an excellent location for the watersports and Nottingham itself.

May 2005 Visited this site whilst there was a rowing competition going on so it was very crowded. As it is a very large site there was still a lot of room available and it has the advantage of not having to stay for a minimum number of nights or having to book in advance.
The site was noisy at times, with a particularly inconsiderate camper deciding to wake up at 7:00am and then shouting out every step he took in taking down his tent before wishing everyone a very nopisy goodbye. Mostly though noise was restricted to more social hours.
The location is very nice, being right next to the watersports centre if you are into that kind of thing which many of the other campers were. There aren't a lot of facilities in short walking distance other than those on site which are very basic. We found a nice pub 20mins walk from the site and there is a Morisons/Safeway a short drive away.
The site is excellent for visiting Nottingham/Sherwood Forest attractions. Make sure you buy yourself a bow and arrow set...well worth the investment no matter what age you are!

May 2005 Just arrived back having spent the Bank Holiday weekend with a few friends. Although we had a really good weekend I do not feel that I could recommend the site. The pitch fees are very high (£12 per night with NO pitch facilities) The toilet blocks seemed inadequate for the amount of people booked in. The showers were full at 6am and I queued behind another 7. The block was dirty which cannot be blamed on the overcrowding as most of it was hanging from the ceilings/walls and has been there for a while! One final thing there were site rules clearly displayed saying no nuisance noise after 8pm, something we always look for. However the Camping and Caravanning Club were allowed to erect there own entertainment tent and blast (I mean blast) out their music until 11. A bit unfair on the 90% of people not with them.

April 2005 The site is very basic toilets and showers allways very clean. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Bit noisy at night when the boat goes up and down the river - disco music [must be river dancing]. Ideal site for shopping in Nottingham. Plenty of nice walks and loads of watersports We keep going back, have been going for years. Prices are a bit high for basic facilities. Camp shop is good for brekkies sarnies etc. Good bus service into Nottingham right outside entrance.
