Just returned from a long (Friday to Monday) weekend on this site. After reading some of the good reviews and previously having spoken to a couple of Nottingham locals on other sites who gave us positive vibes we where disappointed with our stay.
The site layout as a whole was very good, even for a site with 300 pitches, we did feel a little lost however as there where only around 15 fellow campers on site the whole time we where there.
This is how we scored the site: Marks out of 10.
Site in general. 7 Points.
Well laid out and spacious pitches, over 100 with electric hook up and hard standing. The water and waste terminals however where poor as they where elevated, the fresh water had no drain for excess water to run and the waste water drains where blocked on the two different ones I tried. This of course resulted in the area surrounding the terminals being awash with mud, even in dry weather.
Local Interest. 7
Close to the water sports center 1/4 mile walk to the Nottingham bus stop, 1/2 mile walk to local shops and chip shop.
Shower and toilet block. 3 Points.
Of the five showers in the ladies 2 where 'Out Of Order'. The remainder where on timer buttons which stopped the shower as soon as they where released. All the gents showers did work however but the timers where set at a very frugal 15 seconds. All toilets where reasonably clean and tidy but the wash basins where in fact wash HAND basins so if the five showers where occupied, the basins could not really be used to wash anything but your hands. Remember also that the site has 300 pitches, 10 showers does not seem an awful lot for up to 600 people.
Site Staff: 7 points.
The wardens were helpful and informative. However the reception was open at varying times which is not really very helpful at all for the punters, it was for instance, closed all day on the Sunday of our visit. A few leaflets on the local attractions and bus time tables were available from reception when it was open.
There was no information room or method of feedback from previous customers regarding local pubs and amenities.
All in all for my wife and I a pretty disappointing experience.

We stayed for 2 nights had a fab weekend. The staff are very helpful and polite, the new childs play area is brilliant its just what was needed. I do think another toilet block and shower room should be built and the website needs updating it does not show the campsite for what it offers, no price list, no new photos and you you can not get the information on the events that are being organised. Other than that I loved it and I cannot wait to go back in oct for the Halloween event ;).

This was my first trip out with a new tent. Site is lovely, clean, well appointed, staff lovely. Perfect for kids and dogs, but cafe etc located a bit of a walk away, disappointing as I have limited mobility.
The loos and showers are brill, only sad thing is that we went imagining there would be things we could do on the water, and this was not the case.
I would recommend this site, but not if you want to play on boats!
Other guests were lovely too. There is a really good shop in the local village a few miles away, and the site reception double as a small shop, and a great place to get a coffee!

My husband and I stay on the site on a regular basis. We love the new look, lots of play area for children, more parking and a lot more ground to put your caravan with electrics. Its Fantastic.
The staff that run the site are really nice, friendly and always very helpful as we found out when we got stuck on the soft ground in bad weather. They bought out an old 4x4 and towed us out, no trouble at all.
The only down side is it could do with another toilet and shower block nearer to rally field. When events are on its hard to get in the showers if at all. Good pubs (two of)within 15 to 20 min walk. Also ample shops again close by. Supermarket within 2 mile. Fantastic walks along the river Trent that will take you into Nottingham. Bus stop 10min walk.

There were 5 families all camping together, 3 with electric hook-up and 2 without. They were very accommodating and allowed us all to camp in the same area.
The pitches are very spacious, we were able to put a caravan with awning, a 6 man (2 room) tent and 3 cars on one pitch with room to spare allowing all 23 of us room to sit/cook together in the spare pitch which was really nice in the evenings.
The weekend was extremely hot; the site shop was able to supply us with several iced lollies each day!
I have decided to leave a review as a result of the management’s reaction to anti social behaviour. One night during our stay a group of people were playing loud music and using obscene language until the early hours of the morning. With a 4 year old in a tent that was not a nice experience. The following morning, not wanting to make a big deal of it one of our party just asked about the policy. The entire party of 3 tents was expelled from the site by mid day.
A few days later another party was evicted in the middle of the night!
We strongly feel that this no tolerance policy really added to the pleasant atmosphere of the site.

We visit this Campsite regular and are very impressed with the upgrade, more electrics and hard standings, Playground and marquee with inflatable castles and a slide, our children loved it.
We have booked for this weekend as well and Halloween.
Children are well catered for, with the water sports just across the road we were able to turn up and pay for activities on the day.
Close to Nottingham city centre, local pubs and morrisons supermarket.

Pretty site very close to the water sports, electric gates and coded toilets, we have been a few times,
We prefer to go non electric and go out of the way up the field, we have stopped with electric but found it a little noisy but not a problem,
Staff were nice,
Plenty of shops to drive to and you can walk along the river to the town or mcdonalds or the nottingham forest football ground.
Windbreaks, washing lines, bbqs can be put up without a fuss, easy going staff, park just a short walk away with icecream van

Visited as part of a triathlon event, 2 adults, no children, part of a larger group.
As the site was booked out specifically for the tri, it was a bit different to a usual weekend. Pitching was a bit of a free for all but meant we could group ourselves together which was great. Also I think they were a bit more relaxed about noise etc. Particularly on the evening after the event when people were congregating in club groups. This all suited the event fine.
Positives:
Plenty of space and flat pitches.
Checking in was very efficient given the volume of people.
Small shop on site, although more snacks than anything else. We needed some pegs, and they didn't sell them but did give us some (presumably picked up after being left behind by others). This was a nice gesture.
Portable loos were provided as there were so many people, although I don't know whether this was by the campsite or the tri organisers.
Even though there were lots of people showering all afternoon, there was plenty of hot water.
Negatives:
The shower/toilet block was very small, just 5 showers for ladies.
The floors got very muddy as the site itself was getting muddy from a wet weekend with lots of vehicle movements. Cleaning only seemed to happen very early in the morning.
There were only two sinks for washing up.
Obviously it's ideally placed for the water sports centre. I can't comment on anything else as I was only there for that event and not on holiday etc. The price seemed average at £13/nt (2 adults, 1 car, medium size tent, no EHU).

Just returned from a very enjoyable weekend. Great campsite, lovely and spacious with loads of space to pick a pitch. Only allocated pitches were for EHU. Nice shower block, it got a bit dirty but there was a big iron man event in the watersports centre so it was extra busy.
Handy campsite shop selling essentials but a large Morrisons less than a mile away. Great location to walk along the river into town or for enjoying an event as we did. Excellent rates at only £11 per night.

Just returned from the site, had a lovely time, the site is large and we didn't have to pre-book which was a bonus. The watersports centre is just a short stroll away lots to see there. The staff on site were really friendly couldn't do enough for us.
Only downside the shower block really needs some work doing on it definitely not the best I have seen, shame because that is the only thing that spoilt it for us.
