This is a well laid out and well maintained site in a lovely location.
We had an EHU pitch near the new sanitary block.
Chemical waste was also conveniently close.
There are some mobile homes for hire which are delightfully situated right by the sea and would make a great base for a family holiday.

This is a really nice site and short walk from Applecross and there was a pub, cafe and visiting fish and chip van in the bay when we visited.
You have to want to stay here as the drive in and out is slow but spectacular.
There are various pitches and different fields, we had a hard standing EHU pitch located close to a new facility block which had six individual toilet and shower rooms.
This was great apart from when you just wanted the toilet or to brush your teeth there was a bit of a wait. Would be handy to have some separate toilets really. It seems to be the fashion to just have full on wet rooms with a shower, sink and toilet.
As you may expect being remote it has very poor phone coverage and no WiFi where we were.

This is a nice site, a short walk from the Main Street in Applecross.
There’s a mixture of pitches, we had a non awning and non EHU pitch located close to a new looking facility block which had six individual toilet and shower rooms.
Very clean and tidy.
The MH service point was very good, there were two located side by side.
Poor phone reception in the village isn’t helped. By poor Wi-Fi on the site.

Lovely campsite, with lots of walks around the local area. Campsite staff were friendly and helpful.
Good value for money, especially as the only campsite on the peninsula.
Lots, and lots of sheep which does make it difficult if you have dogs.
Shop just under 2 miles away, I don’t think there was anything the lady didn’t stock.
There is a pub and a restaurant but we didn’t visit.

Very clean camp site with impressive new toilet and showers.
The owner “Clive” is unassuming and an extremely friendly person.
Quiet location with very helpful staff. Would definitely return.

Stunning location, new showers lovely, efficiently run, no noise in the evenings.
Only downside is that we visited in showery weather and the site road as well as the hard standing with electrics were really mucky.
Lots of large, puddle -filled pot holes on the road. We had a dog and bikes with us and had a lot of muddy paws, shoes and bikes to contend with, which is quite hard work in a small camper van (or a tent I imagine).
I don't think it would be a massive job to upgrade the surfaces but would make the difference between us visiting again or avoiding it unless the weather is really good. (Still a bumpy ride over the pot holes though. ) It may be worth noting that it seemed a very transitory site when we visited.
The vast majority of folk arrived in the early evening and left early the next day so there wasn't much chance to chat to people, which is unusual for a campsite.
The area warrants more than a whistle stop tour. Lovely short easy bike rides, Heritage centre, photographic gallery, walled garden, wildlife etc.
I think a lot of people seem to just want to do the drive around the coast and over the pass, which is fabulous. It seems a shame to be in such a hurry!

This site is a fantastic money making enterprise benefitting from being on the NC500 route. Our feelings were that it is set up very much to extract the overnight fees from its guests without giving them much back in return.
The old toilet block behind the reception only has a couple of loos and showers. The new wash block sited in the tent area is not very well thought out at all. There are six shower/toilet/sink rooms resulting in long queues as those needing the loo waited for those having a shower. Unbelievably poor planning, made worse by the fact that the wash block was closed for cleaning soon after 09:30 most mornings.
The washing up facilities and rubbish area are also back at reception, 200m from the tent area. To top it all, the campervan service area is sited in the tent field so we were woken most mornings by early risers in campers replenishing water supplies. It seems this can only be done with engines running and also requires much slamming of doors!
Finally, the tent area also doubles as the dog exercise area. Not what you need, even if owners do pick up,
There are good points. Booking up and check in was easy, advance payment required, they can't get your money off you quick enough! The tent field is level, well drained and sheltered. Wild stags roam the fields surrounding the site and are surprisingly tame.
Apart from the early risers the site is quiet overnight. The wash blocks are generally very clean. There is a take away on site (The Codfather) which was open for breakfast, lunch and supper. The chips were excellent.
Applecross village is a short walk down a well lit foot path. Here there is a pub and other takeaways and not a lot else except beautiful views.
Most only stay one night but the scenery nearby is fantastic and it will take you many days to really do this place justice.

A lot of work has been done on the site since I last visited 6 years ago, there is a new toilet and shower block and more hard standing and power provision.
The Flower Tunnel has closed (very big loss) and Applecross is these days much busier with tourists than it used to be.
The Junction Cafe in the village was closed whilst I was there so there was nowhere indoors in wet weather.
Great location, peaceful and secluded.
I've always loved Applecross campsite.

Could be such a good campsite, but let down by the facilities. The block down the end of the site is all wet rooms, which means having to queue for ages for the loo. Had some irritatingly loud neighbours as well.
Plenty of people doing the NC500 give the site a bit of a tranistory atmostphere, and the pub and shop in the village are excellent.
Please pay attention to the sign saying not to bring a motorhome over the Bealach na Ba.
