Just returned from another visit to this outstanding caravan park. Tania, the owner was so kind & accommodating with me over my health issues & it enabled me to have the revitalising trip I needed.
This site has huge pitches & wonderful ambience. It is tidy, clean & peaceful.
There is so much to do in the local area like beautiful Aberglassney Gardens, Gwilli heritage railway, Talley Abbey, Dwinfyr house, Gold mines & further afield is the Brecons & more.
The local town of Llandeilo has amazing quirky shops too.
Everything we go more improvements have been made
Last time I reviewed this site I said you don't know what you are missing & I can only repeat this. Plan a visit you won't regret it.

Loved this site, Tania & Steven work really hard to maintain a lovely site, both always doing things around the site.
They were both very helpful to us, before and during our stay.
V clean facilities and large pitches, our dog loved lying in the stream.
Llandeilo has most things you need, Bakery, Co-op, had lovely meals in Plough Inn down the road, by car, they accept dogs too.
Some limited road noise, but doesn’t stop relaxation.

We have just returned from yet another superb stay at Abermarlais Campsite. The owners Tania and Stephen are so welcoming and always spare the time for a chat.
As I have said before, the site is one of the best we have ever stayed on. Every bit of it is immaculate. The driveway has now been re-surfaced, making a very good first impression of the site as you drive in. The lawns are expertly manicured.
The washing up area has also been extended and updated to a very good standard. The toilet/shower blocks themselves are just as good as a 5* hotel. Always clean and smell lovely with very modern décor. We always try to have the same pitch if we can and Tania always tries to accommodate.
To fall asleep to the sound of the flowing stream behind our heads is perfect. It’s an added bonus for the dogs on a warm day too. Straight out of the car to cool off in the stream.
You access the dog walking area or woodland from two wooden bridges either end of the park & there is a poo bin at both points. Once over the bridge, there is a stunning meadow for the dogs to run ‘off lead’ in and up into the woodland area. Obviously, dogs ‘on lead’ around the site.
Wales has now implemented new compulsory ruling with regards to recycling and Tania makes sure this is adhered to or she will receive a fine herself. This didn’t pose a problem for us at all. The site has a small shop at reception selling local produce and essentials, along with gas if needed.
The site has also installed new electric metres on each pitch, with a card being given on arrival and you topping up what you think you may need. Again, this didn’t pose a problem and was fairly straight forward.
Any unused electric is refunded at the end of your visit. We chose to put ours in the air ambulance collection box. We are so looking forward to booking our next trip here. Thanks again to Tania and Steven.
Few tips of places to visit:
Hafren Forest – although a good hour away from site, is one of the most idyllic places we have been to. It certainly is a hidden gem. Pine trees, boardwalks, streams, waterfalls. The dogs loved it.
Penllergare Valley Woods – Charity and Volunteer run woodland. Again, with streams, good walks and waterfall. Lovely little café too.
Pen Y Fan – 886 Metres above sea level walk. Bit of a climb, but worth it on a good day for the views at the top. Brecon Beacons National Park.
4 Waterfalls Walk
Llyn Y Fan Fach – Reservoir Walk in the Black Mountains
Cenarth Falls – Quaint little village/waterfall and short circular loop walk. Had the most wonderful Tea Room offering superb Afternoon Teas for both ladies and gentlemen, depending on your taste buds. Abundance to choose from and very good value for money. Also, about an hours drive from site.
Usk Reservoir Walk – Circular walk around the reservoir. Roughly about 8. 6 km. Quite an easy flat route, accessible for all.

The site was immaculate, well mown grass areas and generous pitches. Ours was hardstanding and difficult to get heavy duty pegs in.
The introduction about the site was extensive regarding metered EHU and recycling. Luckily I managed to remember the meter instructions and was familiar with recycling.
Dogs to be on leads at all times, but not always followed, and OH was asked to not walk dogs on the gravel roads, as if they poo-ed gravel would be picked up in the poo bag.
The Ladies was clean, didn't use shower as prefer own facilities. There was no full length mirror or hairdryer and the disinfectant smell was not pleasant.
Pot wash area was clean and tidy, but the water luke warm. Didn't find laundry sink for doing 'smalls', ? could have used washing up sink but with only lukewarm water.
Site easy to find from both directions, there is a Coax lead for TV reception included, but we didn't need it. The site is surrounded by trees and is peaceful.
There is a well stocked petrol station nearby.

Tanya and Stephen are amazing owners.
The site is immaculate, they are constantly making sure everything is perfect, (which it was)
Shower block very clean and always stocked with toilet rolls/hand soap.
Although they were busy, they were never to busy to have a chat.
Definitely worth a visit if you want a very quiet adults only site.
Your not cramped on your pitch, we had a serviced pitch which even had a coax cable for tv!
We are looking forward to a return visit at some point.

What a wonderful site, so peaceful, excellent facilities, lovely woods for walking in close by, I can't rate this site highly enough.
Although it's just off the A40, there is no road noise.
There is a lovely babbling Brook. It's just favourite

Abermarlais is a gem of a site with large pitches.
The grounds are immaculate and a credit to Tania and Stephen.
You do pay additionally for electric but this is very reasonable and on a pre loaded card.
Would definitely recommend this site for the site itself and its location.

This is a fabulous site. So pristine with fantastic facilities. You can have a full service pitch ot EHU only.
The setting is stunning and there is so many places to go like National Botanical Gatdens, Diwfyr and Aberglanassey Gardens & much more.
There is a metre for electric & you top up a card with a refund on what you don't use. We found this a good idea & good value.
Tania is a marvellous owner, so kind & helpful. It is sited by the A40 but you rarely hear any road noise.
If you have never visited then you are missing out!

We couldn't resist calling in for a couple of nights as we were passing on our way home.
Despite the hot weather and the hills we encountered cycling up to the stunning Carreg Cennen castle, we really "chilled out" when we were actually on site.
It's so impressive what Tania and Steve have created here and they deserve to have more visitors.
Since our last visit, they've installed electric meters on each pitch, so you know you are only paying for what you use and to be honest it was very economical. They've also extended the shower block building to include the washing up area, so that's inside now too (and as spick and span as the showers area).
Of all the hundreds of sites we've visited, I find I can relax here better than anywhere.
OK, there's a bit of road noise, but if you can't "chill" here I feel sorry for you.
Go on, give it a go!
