Excellent campsite, extremely large pitches.
The scenery is second to non.
Tania & Steve very helpful & work extremely hard to make sure everything is spot on.
Will definitely be visiting again.
Plus our 7 months old golden retriever had a great time in the woods, & splashing around in the river.

This is now one of our all-time favourite sites.
We’ve just finished our first week at this wonderful, dog-friendly site and were really reluctant to leave.
It is an absolute credit to the owners, Tania and Stephen, who were out working on the site every day to maintain it to a very high standard.
The facilities were spotless, the free and fast Wi-Fi gave a solid connection and the many fully serviced (electric, water and grey waste) pitches were perfect for us. Metered electricity with full refund for unused units. More basic pitches are available for those who are fitter! The hard standing surface was the easiest I have met regarding getting the steel pegs into (no bent ones) and for removal at the end of the stay.
The pitches are well laid out, with hedge planting and plenty of space separating them from the neighbouring pitches. Woodland, a large meadow and a tranquil running stream makes for a perfect site for us and our 2 active dogs. We could easily give them enough walks on site and in the immediate surrounds to not have to venture further afield had we been so inclined.
The child-free site is very peaceful, with surrounding birdsong during the day from the trees, some young Tawny Owls calling at night and bats flying over the stream. Clear skies and minimal superfluous lighting meant good night-time views of the stars and planets (Venus especially bright at the moment).
Llandovery and Llandeilo are nearby for the well-stocked Co-op supermarket and the Brecon Beacons and many other attractions are nearby to cater for most tastes.
This is a site we intend to return to as soon as possible. Thoroughly recommended.

Lovely site. Has Rules; but that's a good thing as everyone knows where they stand. Well run.
Very good pitch sizes, also well maintained. In fact it's all well maintained and very regularly checked.
Can't find fault with it's location: half an hour or so to many of the local towns and villages, is Carmarthen, Lampeter.

What a site! In over 35 years of touring Britain this is the best site we’ve visited. Tania and Steve were super friendly and helpful.
The facilities are first-class and immaculately clean.
The site itself is perfect, both hosts maintaining it every day. They obviously take great pride in what they have achieved here.
Huge fully-serviced pitches, along with standard pitches.
The site shop has all you’ll need for your stay.
The walks are peaceful, as is the whole site.
Return again? You bet! Wanderingwill Chuckle.

As the previous reviews have stated, this is a wonderful site that has everything you could want, for a nice peaceful break.
Tania and Stephen have obviously worked so hard to create this idyllic site from what was once just a grass field and it's a real credit to them.
If one had to sum it up in one word, it would be "immaculate".
We had a couple of lovely cycle rides, one up to Myddfai to visit the small community centre, shop and cafe and the other up to Llansadwrn and over to Talley Abbey, both places well worth a visit.
We'll definitely be back, as I fancy having a crack at cycling over the stupendous Black Mountain just the other side of Llangadog (and no electric or batteries will be used! ).

We visited Abermarlais Caravan & Camping Park on the 10th June 2022 for 10 days. We were half expecting rain (being in Wales) but again, we were fortunate enough to have sun nearly the whole time.
This was our second time in Wales and at Abermarlais. We stayed there last June too. Tania and Stephen (the owners) are lovely people and have turned the site into something very special.
It is absolutely immaculate in every way. The lawns are meticulously manicured. Not a blade of grass out of place. They take immense pride in how the site looks and all their hard work obviously pays off.
There is a small shop on site selling local produce, bread and milk etc.
The shower/toilet block puts some hotels to shame. Although we have older children now, we much prefer going to Adult Only Campsites. They are cleaner and more cared for by the owners and guests alike.
The site has a lovely stream running through it and you can walk across two wooden bridges either end of the park to access the woods and the meadow in order to take the dogs for a walk.
Dogs are allowed off lead on the other side of the stream and around the lawned entrance of site. Our two dogs loved their daily walks around site. What made it even better, was them being able to cool off at the end of every day in the stream. Whenever we returned from a day out, they would jump straight into the water to wash their feet.
We also like the fact that from 10. 30pm onwards you are asked to keep the noise to a minimum and the majority of people seem to take heed to that. You could hear a pin drop most of the time, with just the rumbling noise of the water running behind your pitch as you nodded off the sleep and being woken by the sounds of the dawn chorus.
What more could you want! We have already spoken to Tania about re-booking for next year as this is definitely on our top 3 list of sites.
Places to visit:
Pen Y Fan - (886 metres above sea level in Brecon Beacons National Park) Quite tough going but managed it with two dogs
4 Waterfalls Walk – (Brecon Beacons National Park)
Llyn Y Fan Fach – Reservoir Walk in the Black Mountains
Tenby (South) Beach – Miles of Golden Sands and the south beach is Dog Friendly
Dinefwr castle and grounds – National Trust. Have done the walks there twice with the dogs. Obviously not been in the castle but I believe dogs are welcome on the first floor and in the café
The Red Lion in town is a good local place for a bite to eat. On the three occasions we have been there, the food was wonderful and plenty of it

Abermarlais is set in beautiful surroundings and the site itself is superbly maintained, but not to the detriment of the wildlife.
It is very quiet and peaceful - everything we are looking for when on holiday.
The pitches are big and the layout of the site makes for a lovely outlook from all of the pitches.
There are ample toilets and showers in excellent condition and during our stay these were always spotlessly clean.
The owners are friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble, and they are constantly working to keep the site maintained and looking well cared for.
There are a few regular visitors on site and they were very friendly.
All in all, a very friendly, welcoming site.
There is a small shop on site, which is useful, selling a variety of necessities and a few luxuries!
There are also books and DVDs to borrow. There are lovely woodland walks on the site and longer walks can be accessed from the site.
Plenty to do in the area and wider, and not too far from the coast for a trip out.

On the recommendation of my daughter who stayed here in July 2019 my hubby and I booked two nights stay at the site. We were warmly greated by Tania who explained everything about the site.
We then drove into the park to see an immaculately kept area with fully serviced pitches surrounded by trees and woodland walks. A stream on one side gave a tranquil feel.
The toilet and shower area was absolutely immaculate and very well designed. This allowed me who is disabled and unable to walk far unassisted, feel confident enough to use the showers and toilet areas.
The pitch we first chose was a little too far for me to walk alone so Tania moved us closer the following day.
The A40 is not far from the site but you can hardly here the traffic. It is wonderful to be able to just slip onto the road and head off to visit places like Llandillo, Llandovery, Aberaeron and Breacon. Which we decided to go and see the following day if we could book another night.
Happily Tania agreed to accommodate us and we enjoyed another wonderful day exploring The Beacons before coming back to the site and relaxing in a place so tranquil and beautiful
I would recommend to anyone. Thank you Tania and Steve.
