 Smaller site, lovely - but for reasons that become obvious (it gets a touch windy) this is a no awning site.
It was particularly windy during our stay.
The pitches are not that level, so take ramps. The warden (a stand in I think) was brilliant, really friendly, nothing too much trouble. Again, some amazing views from the site.
We drove into Newcastle for a look around, all within easy reach.
We didn’t get to eat at the pub just outside the site as it was fully booked when we fancied it.

Great site with terrific views. New shower block was immaculate and the path round the site has been re-tarmac'ed.
We were down at the front of the site which can be quite slopey, but no problem if you have a mover and ramps.
There is a lot of foot traffic and bikes along the path directly in front of the front row, so can be noisy.
Sloped site with water/waste/chem disposal at the top so it will certainly keep you fit!
St Mary's lighthouse was closed (and wrapped in a big white square structure) for repainting, so we didn't go there.
Easy walk along the coastal path to Sleaton Sluice or a bit further the other way to Whitley Bay.
Pub at the top of the site is well worth a visit.

We stayed at this campsite for 3 nights while touring the North Country.
A good location, with views out to sea and St Mary's Lighthouse visible.
A good pub (small in bar area if you have a dog), but lovely food is right next to the campsite.
We walked to St Mary's Lighthouse once the tide had gone out and is a visitor's attraction which interesting. We walked to Whitley Bay from St Mary's Lighthouse which took approximately 40 minutes but a nice walk along the coastline. Bus stop is next to the pub and buses run regularly.
Toilet facilities are clean.

OK, to start with I grew up down the road in Whitley Bay so I know this area very well, and it is a most beautiful bit of the coast.
You get a great view from the site of St Mary's lighthouse, and view across Whitley Bay to the Spanish City. There are three pubs that do food, a chip shop and a Coop all within walking distance. Seaton Sluice is particularly worth a visit to see the harbour and the cut.
Seaton Hall isn't more than a 5 minute drive, and you also have Whitley Bay, Cullercoats and Tynemouth all easily accessible. There's a bus stop on the main road if you're in a motorhome and don't want to drive, and it's a main route so services are frequent.
Site facilities are fine, they are spotlessly clean, and about right for the size of the site. A notice said they will be upgraded, as they are starting to look a little old fashioned but that doesn't bother me.
The site feels a little compact. The Club has done the best it can to make sure everyone gets a decent view, but you get a small feeling of being like sardines in a can. Our pitch was just enough gravel to get the caravan on, then put the car alongside.
I don't think I saw any pitches with awnings but I could be wrong. I don't think this can be helped, unless they did a major remodelling and increased the size of the pitches to the standard caravan + awning + vehicle size.
There's no playground or area for kids to kick a ball around.
My main caveat is the price. It's an expensive site, and for a basic hard standing pitch with no awning, I think it is overpriced. We'd just come form a CL site in Scotland that was a fully serviced pitch with awning, for £24 a night. We chose this site as we were visiting for my mum's birthday, and preferred to be close to Whitley Bay. I doubt I'd book again unless prices drop a lot out of high season.
There is a public car park against the south edge of the site; I'd suggest you don't choose a pitch next to it as it gets the usual night time visits from cars who want to test their stereos. It needs locking up at night but that's an issue for the Club and local residents to take action on.

Staff helpful and friendly
Ferry Close buy to get into Tynemouth fish quey near by.

Superb popular location overlooking St Mary's Lighthouse close to Whitley Bay.
Excellent location for exploring NE coast north of Tynemouth.
Coop fairly close by together with some excellent pubs.
Thoroughly recommend the Delaval Arms - great food and some of the best microbrewery beers Ive tried in a long time

We usually visit this site once or twice a year as it’s close to home but in a lovely location on the seafront.
Excellent base for walking, cycling and enjoying the north east coast.
Good transport links.
Several excellent pubs within walking distance.
Site facilities excellent.

Excellent site, right on the seafront overlooking St Mary’s lighthouse.
Work has been carried out on the road around the pitches which much better.

Great site on the cliffs overlooking St Mary’s Lighthouse.
Sloping site but pitches are fairly level and on small hard standing pItches.
Clean and well maintained facilities.
Excellent base for North East coast.

Small site by CAMC standards (50 pitches) with some large gravel pitch and some so small you can only just get your van on. Majority have great sea view with St. Marys lighthouse just off-shore (accessible across causeway when tide out).
Local co-op and fish and chip shop a short walk away (about 0. 7 mile). Coastal path goes right in front of site.
Friendly welcome and very nice wardens who are happy to chat.
Site due for refurbishment next year with taps due to be installed at bottom of site as it's a steep walk up at moment to get water.
