3 nights in our MH at this lovely site which has easy access, only the very last bit of lane is narrow but short & straight so can see any oncoming traffic, lovely flat pitches, we were against the hedge to the left of the field which did lose the sun in the evening, central or right have a better aspect. Clean shower facilities that I found a little dim, the lights were motion activated but it didn't work the evening I took a shower so continued the ablutions in semi darkness & went over at an earlier time from then on. It was nice to have a meal on site & leave the dogs in the MH, lovely steak alfresco at the bar area. Free wifi is a boon as the rest of our holiday at other sites we had to pay & it soon mounts up, not cheap! Situated halfway between Looe & Polperro we did both walks, around 3 miles - Looe is through the woods then follow the estuary along to Looe and Hannafore, Polperro was down to the beach then follow the SW coastpath. The only negative for us personally was no dog exercise area on site, you had to use the narrow lanes outside the site which was a bit hairy when traffic came and were forced into the hedgerow, got nettle stung a few times, for night visits the dogs were allowed to use a small grass area opposite reception. Like other sites we then visited that had an enclosed dog field, if Caradon ever had the opportunity with surrounding land to provide this facility then this site could so easily become a favourite of ours - if you haven't got dogs to consider then you wont go far wrong with this site run by a very helpful couple

I think I read another review on this campsite wishing they didn't have to tell anybody else about it as it's a real gem, they were right! It's in a perfect location for exploring the coast, some roads on approach a little narrow for larger units so PLEASE take the owners directions in mind as they save some hairy moments and buffeted wing mirrors. Pleasant walks to either Looe or Polperro from your doorstep, with a great bus service to both or beyond. The campsite itself is just outside of the village of Pelynt, which has a Spar shop, garage and a pub called the Jubilee - basic edible food and grumpy staff for inflated prices. Caradon itself has a bar serving Cornish Korev lager and Tribute ale as well as great value, well cooked food with tasty and plentiful portions. The steak and (Tribute) ale pie is outstanding. We found the bar very friendly and the best place to get an idea of the local area, with everybody happy and chatty. The facilities were always spotless and well serviced, with green policies in place such as solar heated showers (perfect and free to use with no daft push buttons) and natural soaps and tissues. There was a good area for chemical waste with its own flush and tap, and great access to a number of grey water disposals. The washing up sinks are along the outside of the showers so you can earwig while you get clean! Never queued once for anything at all. Pitches are a great size, and level too, and the grass - with integra hard standings under - well cut and tidy. The local produce on sale in the small site shop is good, but popular, so get in quick! We went out of school holiday time so midweek it was quiet, but when families visited at the weekend it did get a little bit noisier with the odd family not respecting personal space. The bar had a club room attached with table tennis, pool table and a TV with game console to keep the kids happy while mum and dad had a drink I the adults only bar. We met some really nice people, and the atmosphere on the whole site, bar and everything led to a very relaxing and enjoyable break. We will definitely go back, just to check if the Tribute is still as good. Brilliant!

We have just returned from a lovely stay at Camping Caradon.
The owners could not have been more helpful and the site is excellently maintained. We would definitely stay again. The bus service was very frequent and we had a lovely day at Talland Bay in the rock pools and the cafe is lovely here.
Thank you.

What a wonderful site. From the first time you get on site the owners make you most at home. The site is set in a good position. The toilets & showers are clean at all times, showers have plenty of hot water. The bar is a very friendly place with a first class restaurant chef, a wide range on the menu. There is a games room, small shop with most the basics you need, papers can be ordered the daily. All the pitches have 16 amp hook up for elec. Buses for all local areas call in at regular times. The site is maintained at a very high standard. It's a site with very few signs with dos & don'ts. Thank you to the owners.

Having just moved on from this site I wanted to leave a review.
We followed the 'big units' directions. This is the best route in. Wider and safer.
We walked to Polperro from the site through Talland Bay along the coast path. A very nice walk.
We used the buses most days to Polperro, Looe and Plymouth. It gets full though.
The Crumplehorn Mill in Polperro serves a very nice lunch. We had the fish salad.
Pengelly's in Looe is a great fishmonger too.
We used the site bar most nights. Opens. At 7. 30. We ate at the site bar. The wife had gammon and I had the Cajun chicken salad. Both very good value and very good quality.
The site is very nice and good value at £17 per night

We stayed at this site due to the reviews being so good and they are so correct. Initially for a week with 2 adults and 2 children, we ended up staying longer. This is an amazing site, clean showers and toilet block, busy in the morning but quieter in the evening. Hubby said that the men's block was also regularly cleaned and well maintained. The bar and family room is an added bonus and great for families, no children allowed in the bar so those without children can have a quieter drink. The table tennis, pool table and board games were a nice touch also a box of toys for younger children. We did order food that can be eaten in the tent or in the bar/family room and it was freshly cooked and great value for money. The reception stocks camping equipment, toys and basic food items. There is a small play area for the children and with the camp being small and friendly the kids didn't need watching constantly. The staff are the friendliest I have ever met and they made us feel so welcome and were great at showing us where to go in looe. We had pitch 26 and as a previous reviewer stated it does have the sun all day and great to watch the sun going down. Pitches aren't massive but was adequate for an outwell montana 6 + extension, windbreaks and car. Having free wifi was really good and no problem with my mobile phone signal which I have experienced on other sites in Looe. The site is generally quiet but it was bank holiday weekend and had 2 families that wanted to be louder than everyone else. A quick word from Stephen and the site was lovely and quiet again. The whole family would like to recommend this camp site. 10/10. Thank you for a lovely stay and we will be returning.

What a great site, level, clean and well maintained.
The owners are especially helpful, from advising on the best route to use to avoid narrow lanes on the approach, to lending me a spanner, they would be hard put to do more to look after their guests.
The takeaway food offered on the site is also well worth a mention, good value and great quality.
In conclusion, a site we would have no hesitation in using or recommending if we were in that area.

Spent 7 nights here in August after reading good positive reviews. We enjoyed our time here overall, nice clean site which is well looked after. Toilets and showers are clean however there are only 3 showers in men's and ladies which was not quite enough at bank holiday weekend when the site was full, okay the rest of the time. All pitches seem fairly generous and also nice and flat, grass is well maintained. Lots of children enjoying themselves which is great to see and a good atmosphere. Small bar and family room is good to use but only opens at 7. 30pm be better if opened earlier for younger families. Small shop but only basics, spa shop 2 miles away. Looe and polperro great places to visit and only a couple of miles away. There is a bus service which we did not use but could be useful to save on the big parking charges at these places. We would return here as is good value for money

Spent 4 nights here on a family break (6 of us) plus my 3yr old grandson. The toilet/showers were one of the cleanest I have ever seen, lovely hot water plus a family/disabled room which was like a wet room, excellent for showering with a 3yr old. The owner and staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the take-a-way food was very good quality. There's even a bar/family room with a TV where you can take your food to eat it, great on an evening when the weather's not good. This is a small, friendly site which is very well run. Would certainly stay there again!
