We visited this campsite in July last year and we loved it.
Steve and Lene are really friendly, the facilities are clean, the pub grub is excellent. All home cooked.
There is a barrier on entry to the campsite for security, a little shop and small games room for daytime use.
All pitches had electric hook-ups.
There is a large toilet block with showers, also pot and clothes washing facilities. There is a playground for the kids and at the back of the pub there is a large hall / games room.My little boy loved it.
The weather was awful, as British weather generally is in summer, especially when we go camping, but we had a great time.
When we arrived there were gale force winds and whilst trying to put up our rather large tent the wind took it flying across the site. 2 of our steel poles were broken. I thought our holiday was over before it had even begun.
My husband went into the office and told Steve what had happened and he came to our rescue. He fixed the poles, moved us to a sheltered spot and within the hour our tent was up.
There is lots to do around Looe, there is a bus from the campsite which takes you to Looe or Polperro which we used most days. Both Looe and Polperro are beautiful places.
Also Lene gave us a map of some nearby walks so we went walking along the coast.
We went to the Eden Project one day, only about 15-20 mins away.
We have just booked to go again in July this year.We can't wait.
If I had any criticism at all it would be that we had to wait until 7pm for the bar to open.

We come here every year, at least once. It's always our first trip, usually at Easter to get the caravan in order for the summer, and usually our last trip too before it all goes away for winter.
Camping Caradon is a great little site - quiet enough for us to allow our children (aged 5 & 7) the freedom to play, but with enough for them to do. The club house is reasonable with table tennis, jenga and board games available. Bar prices are fine, and the food is good quality, decent portions, at reasonable prices - most items on the menu can be scaled down for children's portions. Our children were disappointed when pasta was taken off the menu though! (Please could this be remedied this year?)
Stephen and Lena are great hosts - nothing is too much trouble; if they're not in the shop, they're usually on site somewhere, and can easily be contacted. Last time, we had to borrow a pump before we could pitch as our jockey wheel had gone down - but that wasn't a problem.
The showers are toilets are always clean - but solar heated water does mean that if you leave it till the end of the day, you may not get a really hot shower. We've been here over a hot August bank holiday when the site was really busy, but didn't have to wait very long for a shower.
All in all, this is one of our favourite sites, and we will be back!

Spent a week at Caradon at the beginning of September. Owners are very helpful and friendly and really do go out of their way to help in any way. When we first got there Cornwall had had extremely heavy rain for 2 weeks until the day we arrived. The ground was very boggy in areas people had previously been pitched but they were very good in letting us change our pitch to a more convenient location and the drainage was very good as it dried out within a day or two. I have 2 children aged 4-5yrs and they were very relaxed here as they have a great playground and small games room which occupied the children all day and the site was enclosed and safe to allow the children to play. (There is a barrier in which you need a code to get in to the park which you are given when you arrive).
There is a family bar and restaurant on site.(We didn't use but was told the food was good quality and prices were reasonable.)
They had separate male and female shower rooms which were cleaned to a very high standard and included a hair dryer (20p for a few minutes). They had a little shop which sold essentials, milk, bread etc. We hired a gas bottle for £18 for the week and a electric hook up at £1 a day. They have a 11pm - 7am curfew which we were grateful of as we had two small children sleeping.
All in all, polite, friendly, family site and can't wait to go again.

First time I've used this site and got to say I was very pleased with it, arrived at about eight on a Sunday evening and was met by stephen (owner) who was friendly and soon got us pitched and hooked up.
The site itself had suffered from some very heavy rain, and although our pitch was level and not at all boggy those who were off the tarmac access were struggling. However Stephen was doing everything possible to help.
Small shop on site selling basics, toilets were faultless. Play area and games room for the kids.
Bar open from seven in the evening, bar meals served and although not a huge menu I found the food to be fairly priced and really good quality.
Our three children also enjoyed there stay here so will be using again next year!
A really reliable, friendly, family feeling site. Highly recommended.

Just come back today (midnight) from this site in Looe. It is a nice site with a playground. Not anywhere to play things like football etc. though.
The toilets and showers were clean and were cleaned quite often. There was also a place to wash up.
The shop was combined with the reception and sold basic food like milk and bread. Lots of toys in it.
There was a games room with a ps1, computer with internet (£2 for 20 mins) and pool table and football table.
The club was ok and sold bar meals. And it had a bar and did things like karaoke.
The pitches were close together though. There was a max of about 70-90cms between each pitch and it was really busy when we went. The field soon got waterlogged because of all of the rain.
One thing which got took a bit too far was that you had to be in bed by 11:30 because of a site curfew and you only got to take 1 car to a pitch not 2.
Ok site but wouldn't go back to Cornwall as it is too far out and you have to travel 50 miles to get to everywhere which costs a lot in petrol and diesel.
Trains and buses are available from Looe.
The nearest beach is Looe which has lots of shops and little boutique shops.
The eden project is a way away and Monkey World too.

We booked this site based on the overwhelming positive reviews, and were not disappointed. The owners were very friendly and the facilities, showers etc were kept very clean, with probably the hottest showers that I have ever used whilst camping. Great site, very family orientated. The only thing that spoilt it for us, was the fact that there was no specific area for children to play football, which meant that we had endure two families close to us kicking heavy leather footballs near to our tent and car. That said though, a great site with generous serviced pitches, sufficient for us to put our 7 berth tent, trailer and car alongside. Would go back, if in area.

Beautiful level and clean campsite, very well kept by friendly owners Stephen and Lene. Nothing too much trouble for them. The little restaurant is excellent value for money - never once did we go back to Looe in the evening to eat! Will definitely go back there in October.

This was our second stay at this site, last August for a week and witsun this year. The site is very well kept, Steve and Lene are always busying themselves with something around the park. The showers and toilets are very clean, and water is hot. Always suficient toilet roll and soap. A small shop on site which sells essentials and papers. The bar and restaurant are very good and reasonably priced. The play area for the children is small but sufficient for little ones we have a 3 and 4 year old and they love it. We stayed on pitch 34 which is right next to the park which is ideal if you have little ones, we request this pitch, not so good if you dont have small children.
Good base for visiting Looe and Polperro.
All in all this site is brill and we will definitely return again.

Booked up this camping site having read the reviews on here and we weren't disappointed. The couple who own it Steve and Lene are a lovely friendly couple. The campsite facilities are excellent ie toilets, showers, washing up area, laundry. The pitches are level and a good size and are kept in good condition. There is a play park and a club house for the kids which has toys in there for them to play with which my grandaughter Teigan loved. Would use this site again, word of warning dont use your sat nav it will take you down some scary roads.

We have just come back from a very enjoyable stay at the park, we found it to be very clean, friendly and very well run.
Steve and Lene made our stay one of the best we have had for a long time.
Even though the weather was not at its best we had a great time ,the food in the bar was excelent and the showers and toilet block were very clean and cleaned daily. Overall a excellent base to explore cornwall and we hope to go back in 2009
Well done to all
