I have just stayed at caradon camping for a week end with a fairly large group of friends, in my group there was five ,me (Graham) Julie my wife, Steven my eldest son, Mark and my neice Kristina. There were three other families in our group, the Leeches, the Gardeners and the Stodarts ,20 of us in total,
Steve and lene looked a little bit worried when we all booked in but we behaved ourselves! The entertainement room was excellent, all twelve children (of various ages ranging from three years to sixteen years) all found something to do in there. The bar food was excellent, the shop had evrything we needed for essentials.
The shower block and toilets were very clean, Steve and Lene were very helpful with local knowledge. The site itself is level and all pitches have electrical hook ups if required. We did enjoy the kaaeoke evening, he he. DONT GO BREAKING MY HEART!
Well, once everyone came back in the games room and I put down the mike, we had a great time. Most enjoyable even though the weather was poor. Will visit again. Well done Steve and Lene, nice site!

We recently went to Caradon, all I can say they are extremely excellent hosts and superb caravan site owners.
The site is spotlessly clean and a lovely base for touring Cornwall.
We had booked well in advance as we have a lot of problems getting on sites as we have a 35ft American RV, and tow a 21ft trailer with a car on it. The pitch was plenty large enough for the RV and the owner allowed us to put our trailer in their compound for the duration of our stay.
The shop stocks all the essentials including everything for your cream teas, and finish your day with a relaxed drink in their bar, where you can get a meal between 7.00 and 8.00 pm.
We will definitely be back next year, but be warned Steve, Josh is saving his five pence's for the next visit.

What a great site, Stephen and Lene both lovely people, really helpful, nothing too much trouble. We stayed in one of their caravans, lovely and clean, compact but comfy. Had a problem with the lights, no problem really spoke to Stephen (about 10.30 pm) sorted out emergency lighting and had an electrician out the next day, sorted ! We have three kids 14, 12, 11 they got on fine on the site, made loads for friends. Although the oldest lad did get a bit bored, as he was to big for the swings and climbing frame. Could do with somewhere for the older kids to have a kick about, away from campers and cars ! Brilliant site lovely family and staff and food not bad value either, good portions. Would recommend to friends and family, will be going again next year. Hopefully they still have their caravans for rent, really reasonable, but if not would camp, Thanks Stephen and Lene.

Stopped here for 3 days en route to Newquay. Glad we did. Clean and tidy, very helpful owners, caters for people with families more so. Club house /games room /play park. Local bus service calls at the camp, for Looe and Polperro. £3.00 return p/adult. Restricted parking at both of these resorts. To sum up, clean /tidy /and helpful place to stay.

This is a fabulous site, small disadvantage is that the units are quite close together, and there is no view as the field is surrounded by bushes, but the advantages are numerous. Owners helpful and friendly. Grass kept very short, field is flat, with good drainage. Very reasonable priced. Shower block, ladies have 3 showers, 6 loos, 6 sinks. The shower block is closed between 12 and 2.30 for a thorough clean, though the loos in the bar area are open during that time. There are hooks on the doors of the loos and showers to hang stuff, as well as a seat in the shower. Showers are free, hair dryer is 20p of 2 mins. Small laundry room, 2 washing machines (£3 in 50p), 1 dryer (50p) and an iron and ironing board (20p). There is a small playground for children, as well as a games room with snooker, PS1 and some games open during the day. The is a small bar, with another games room open in the evening, that one has snooker, table tennis, darts, a TV, board games and some toys for younger children. There is a book area, where books, and sometimes other items appear in return for donations to the RNLI. There is a small onsite shop selling the basics, bread, milk, papers, bacon, eggs, etc., a few toys, tinned stuff, and some camping essentials, including gas. The owners are quite strict and as soon as the bar shuts, he goes around and enforces quiet time at around 11pm. I know some people didn't like this, but for us it was a boon, we go away for peace and quiet and a good nights sleep. In the local area I would recommend a visit to Looe, some good boat trips from there, Polperro, The Monkey Sanctuary, Eden Project, Portwrinkle for a fabulous beach, Charlestown, and all the surrounding villages for some excellent views, picnic areas and village pubs, all cater for families. All in all, a good base to look around the area, and an excellent site to stay on.

Just spent a week here. The facilities are excellent, toilets/showers immaculate. Shop on site sells essentials but there are shops in the local village of Pelynt. Within 10 minutes drive to the beaches. Our only complaint would be the noise from the play area at night (until 10.30ish) kids running around screaming and cycling around play area. Would definitely go back in the Autumn.

Great site but the only thing that got up my nose was the smell of the lawn mower, he kept driving up and down all day checking up on your pitch.
Apart from that it was great. The shower blocks great the club was great. Level pitches
I just felt looked over all the time with the owner ramming health and safety down your throat

Stayed here over the easter weekend, one adult and two kids in a tent with EHU. £11.50 a night and it was a bargain! The pitch was level and the grass was immaculate. The pitches are open, not fenced off like some places. We prefer that.
The toilet block and washing up area were immaculate and there were three showers in the mens as opposed to two, stated in an earlier review. The club house was great. Somewhere for the adults and another room for the kids. I believe they have also added a climbing frame / swing arrangement just outside the pub for this season. The kids loved it.
Plenty to see around the local area. We would definitely return.

I was disappointed with this site as I had read the other reviews but wasn't as impressed. The pitches are one behind the other so people do walk through your pitch unless you windbreak it off. The owners were fine - kept going on about health and safety and how to park. Not much room for kids to play - if you like being in a field with owls etc then this isn't for you. I wouldn't come back here particularly - I also thought it was noisy ( we have got two kids ourselves). Having said that the little room for the kids was good - PS1 and a pool table (50p). So all in all it was ok but nothing special.

Very pleased with this super little site. Family who run it (and also live on site) are so helpful and friendly and keep everything SPOTLESSLY clean and tidy with well kept flower borders and tubs about the place. I'd say it's one of the nicest small sites we've ever stayed on. Level and good sized pitches with close mown grass. Liked the fact that if no-one was in the small shop or reception area, a board was put up saying where they could be found and as the site is quite small they were never very far away. The site is also quite 'Eco' friendly too with solar powered showers and recycling bins next to ordinary rubbish ones. Stayed there over Easter and got an amazing deal of staying for 7 nights for the price of 5 AND we only paid normal low season prices too! The Bar area was cosy, a bit like a country pub where you can just sit and relax and actually have a chat without shouting over loud music pumping out of a disco. It's true that the site could benefit from a designated play area and according to the owner that's something they have in mind for the future as they too have young children. It's worth noting also that they have a couple of touring vans on site for hire at quite reasonable rates, great idea if you'd like to go on holiday with extended family or friends but don't want to all bunk up in the same caravan. We will def be going back to this site!
