I support Julie Dix's previous review. This is a nice site. With it being new, the ground is a bit patchy but you've got to have sympathy with Charles and Pauline, your friendly and welcoming hosts. This lovely summer weather we're having has played havoc with him cutting the grass!
Not such a concern for us motorhomers, I must confess, who have five pretty level and well-spaced gravel standings to choose from. It's situated in wonderfully peaceful farm and woodland, where the noise you're most likely to hear is the flapping of the wood pigeons.
Cley next the Sea is just down the hill and is a pretty and interesting village, although 'next the Sea' is obviously an historical reference because its shingle beach is a fair old walk further on past the bird reserve. However, there is a narrow road out there to a small car park. The village has a regular bus service into Sheringham and Cromer.
We didn't see enough of the area and wouldn't hesitate to return here for more.

Just returned from 4 days at Rectory Hill. Apart from the usual mixed British weather, a good time was had by all.
The site is new, so toilet block was immaculate and cleaned frequently. There is only one toilet in both the men's and the ladies which we did think would be a problem but never was. (there is a disabled toilet that can be used too)
Showers are free with masses of space and hot. My 9 yr old could have stayed in all day! My only concern was the temperature of the sinks hot water both in the toilets and the washing up. It was almost boiling! I was filling hot water bottles from the tap.
Washing up area has 2 sinks and is covered with shelving and hooks. We said it could do with a food bin near the sinks for scrapings. Otherwise there was rubbish facilities and recycling behind a fenced gated area close by.
Kids had plenty of space to play football and cricket. Ground was a little stony when we were pegging the tents out but it didn't help that 2 of us in the party had left the mallets at home!
Owner was quite often about and was very helpful.
Great pub in the village of Cley. Sherringham great for the beach, there's a leisure pool, cliff top walks and a steam train.
