Here again within 4 weeks. We decided to show friends what camping is all about decided on B/H weekend. Rang the weekend before and they were able to fit 2 tents and electric in. Brilliant. Peter and Claire helpful as ever. On arrival visited ladies and there was a mirror - yayy! They had read my last review and acted - what more can you ask. Site clean as usual. Busy but space to not feel crowded. The grass was longer than expected but it is to help with traction and vehicles on grass, opened bottom field to help with drainage as well. Doing all the right things. The only problem we had this time was wasps - swarms of them esp at mealtimes. Found 8 dead ones when packing tent up. This time we walked to Copy Nook for food Sun eve - excellent food. Dont think we will get camping again this year BUT we will be back next season and no doubt with other friends - we want to share but on the other hand we want to keep the site a secret! Loved my relaxing B/h weekend camping - we paid £13 a night and that included electric - fantastic cheap holiday

This is a small scale site - which we like - and it's in an excellent location. The owners are very friendly and helpful, and obviously attract like minded people. The facilities are a little basic, but are spotlessly clean, and provide everything the happy camper could want. We will definitely stay there again.

My husband had booked the weekend off work and then plans fell through so at the last minute looking for a site with electric - found this little gem! But I then became ill with chest infection but we still went, well worth it. We arrived to find we had forgotten tent poles - Peter and Claire were so helpful and lent us their tent! They were so friendly and had 2 lovely daughters. They were always about the site, cleaning, helping out so easily accessible. The site is quite big and plenty of space between the caravans and tents. There was a unisex portaloo, unisex shower, separate ladies shower and toilet and then a washing pots area. They are quite basic but always clean. Showers use 20p and cost about 60-80p. The biggest thing missing for me was a mirror. The views are fantastic. We will be going back for definite! Only been running 12 months - well done in what you have achieved xxx

Visited mid week. Site has lovely views horses in next field,
Pitch was grass but with ehu. Only gripe I have is the water is at the bottom of field and as disabled it took two to pull the aqauroll up to the caravan. Also would like more bins nearer to caravan pitches had to take rubbish up in car.
However, toilet and shower facilities clean and tidy shower set at a nice heat used 20p coins, loved the hair dryer but missed a mirror. Need to drive to find shops but to entry into the site is really well thought out. Peter and claire and the girls are friendly and helpful and we will definitely go again.
Cannot comment on child friendliness as haven't got any or a dog but plenty of room I would say for all.

Lovely area and spacious site with lovely views. Village and pub within walking distance. Two toilets and two showers which were kept clean at all times ( have to pay for shower -takes 20 pence, 40-60 pence per shower)However there was no soap in toilet to wash hands (minor gripe) Owners very friendly and helpful.
Negative point- if you are looking for a quiet cl site this is not it. There were nine units and three tents the weekend we were there, about 30 people in total.

We intended staying 2 nights but stayed 4 and would have loved to have stayed even longer at this lovely site. Owners were very friendly, accommodating and helpful - we couldn't have asked for more.
Lots of space between hard standing pitches and plenty of room to manoeuvre large vehicles even in wet weather. Fabulous scenery including views over Pendleton Hill of 'witches fame' and rolling countryside in other directions. There were horses and sheep in adjacent fields but well mannered dogs were also made welcome.
Numerous walks from the site to suit the novice or expert rambler and 2 eating places within walking distance. (approx 10 mins)
Toilet / showers & washing up facilities were well maintained and very clean. We paid £13. 00 per unit (2 adults) but the showers cost 20p for :2 minutes.
Overall, this is an excellent site and worth a visit - you won't be disappointed.

Just returned from this gem of a site, friendly owners, great scenery, very quite, but very pleasing on the eye.
There are hard standing pitches for caravans and motorhomes, and a grassed area for tents, electric hook up is available for tents and very reasonably priced.
It has 2 showers, and 2 toilets, which were very clean and tidy.
The copy nook pub serves excellent food, but check out the opening times as these are rural pubs and don't open all day, every day, is 10 minutes walk, bolton by boland is another 5 mins down the road, with the coach and horses serving nice food and local ales, this is dog friendly, unlike the copy nook.
Pendle hill is magnificent in its splendour, with great views from the camp site, sawley, grindleton, chatburn are a brisk walk from the site but well worth the effort, clitheroe is 10 minutes drive away, and downham and barley are an easy drive away and well worth a visit.
I hope this site keeps it quaintness and continues to be a quite site for the discerning camper to relax.
Will definitely visit again very soon.

We managed to get in at the last minute for the Bank Holiday weekend and made an excellent choice. Beautiful area, pleasant site with clean facilities and a local pub offering decent food and cask ales (wasn't as impressed with the pub in Bolton-By-Bowland). Given the sun hadn't been told it was a Bank Holiday either you can see why the whole experience was so relaxing - particularly once the morning rush of motor-bikers had gone through. Rosie, our Jack Russell enjoyed hoovering around the pitches of our neighbouring caravanners, as well as exercising on the grassy space in the centre used for tents, so dogs were made most welcome. We didn't see much of the owners as they simply left us to get on with it but were available at the farm if needed.

We stayed here over the Easter weekend. What a lovely quiet little campsite in a lovely peaceful setting. Just the ticket for getting away from everyday stresses and to unwind. Although the site only has pitches for 5 caravans, there is loads of room between the pitches for your caravan, awning, car and bags of space for kids to play. The owners were really welcoming and helpful. Bolton by Bowland is only about 10 minutes walk with a nice pub that allows dogs. A great area for visiting local villages and for walking. We took our dog with us for the first time and I think she thoroughly enjoyed it too. We will definitely be returning to this lovely site.
