This must be one of the cleanest and well managed stes we have visited. Toilet / showers first class. Pitch was good size. As stated by others the traffic noise was ever present.
Bus links are good, only drawback is crossing the road from the Plough stop, bit of a rat run. There are no shops within walking distance and nothing on site so stock up with essentials before you arrive.
The only only thing we found to fault was that if you arrive before 1pm you have to pay £5 to access your pitch. It's not always possible to time you arrival, we were there before 12 and paid rather than park up on the lane, I can understand its their ruling but when there were lots of empty pitches it was a bit much to pay £5 for two hours.
We will be booking here again very soon as the access from M4 is so easy.

We have just returned from a relaxing break at Plough Lane over the Easter holidays. The toilets, showers and dishwashing sinks were immaculate at all times.
The pitches are of a good size, with a decent space between each one. Upon arrival you are provided with a folder which contains information on places to eat, visit, emergency numbers, supermarkets etc. Which is extremely useful with further information available at the office, or all you have to do is ask the owners who are more than willing to help you.
You are provided with a card to access in/out through the barrier on site where there is access available at all times. We would definitely revisit this site. Many thanks to the Easter Bunny who delivered creme eggs to all pitches on Easter Sunday!

We spent two nights at this delightfully laid out and well-appointed site. The owners are kind and friendly and they offer top-class information on local amenities and attractions, in a folder to take to the caravan for the duration of the stay. The hard standings for the vans are separated by grass and shrubs, with plenty of personal space.
The toilet block has delightful extra touches - artwork, hand cream, magazines, tissues, and is bright and warm. The only disadvantage is the noise of traffic on the nearby busy road - this has certainly got more noticeable since our last visit 5 or 6 years ago. However, with the purpose of our visit being to use the Family History Centre in Chippenham, the convenience of access far outweighed the problem of noise.

Really enjoyed our stay at Plough Lane again this year, we have now stayed for 8 nights on 3 visits.
The folder given on arrival was a great help, with various local details that you would struggle to find otherwise.
Road noise was a bit of a pain but we soon got used to it.
Toilets and showers were spot on, clean, tidy and never short of anything.
Laundry area was excellent though a little expensive, the site as a whole was always clean tidy and with the bins emptied at least once a day.
Morrisons just down the road and the M4 only a couple of minutes away this is an ideal base for Wiltshire, Bath, Bristol etc or as a stop off to /from Devon and Cornwall.

Arrived at the site for a five day break, with two Labradors in tack.
On arrival had a warm friendly welcome and given a folder with all the information you would need for both on and off site.
Owner very kindly reversed our caravan in place and then left us to set up.
The site is well presented and spotless a credit to the owners.
Please note the following before considering if this site is suitable for you.
No noise after 10pm and before 8am (curfew)
Dogs not allowed to bark (we were cautioned accordingly) Dog walk small, and not secure and backs onto dual carriage way with no light at night to see to clean up after your pet (as some people failed to do) so take a torch.
And the constant noise from the dual carriageway 24/7
Back to the good points.
Places worth a visit for food
10/10 for both the Plough Pub right outside the site (across the dual carriage way) for home cooked good food and the Indian restaurant (name fails me) but turn left at the lights straight over the island and on your left definitely worth its money!
Response from Owner:
I am the site owner and would just like to respond to the post made by Mollsmags after her visit in August. We're really sorry these visitors did not fully enjoy their stay with us and would just like to address some of the points they made.
Our website has a good map which shows the location of the site as being close to a main road: if anyone contacts us to ask about this, we always inform them that there can be road noise. We have over 60% repeat visitors, many of whom request a pitch in the area nearest to the road. However, I understand this is a subjective issue and we're sorry that these visitors found the noise intrusive. If they had mentioned it at the time, we would have tried our best to move them to a pitch further away from the road.
Our terms and conditions, which everyone agrees to before they book with us, includes details of quiet hours on the site and dogs being a nuisance. We don't enforce a curfew, and we don't expect dogs to be silent, but we've found that some rules in these areas help the majority of guests enjoy their stay with us. We're sorry if we caused offence when we spoke to these particular visitors about their dog barking, but we had received complaints from other visitors about the issue.
We take the point about our dog walk being small and will try to think of a better way of describing it in our literature and on our website. We do make it clear in our visitor pack that the dog walk is not secure, and we also provide details of longer walks from the site.
If anyone reading this has questions about our site or our facilities, please do call or email me for more information: you can find our contact details on our website.
Many thanks
Helen Wilding

Beautiful site. Extremely friendly welcome with very comprehensive info pack provided. Almost felt guilty hammering pegs into the immaculate pitch. The site is thoughtfully laid out and landscaped and the temptation is to stay with your unit but there is so much to see within very easy reach, and not as crowded as the Cotswolds to the north.
Toilets were amazing - I even took pictures! The best adults only site we have stayed at

We stayed for 8 nights in June and found the site to be as good as all the previous reviews. We have stayed at other sites in the Tranquil Touring Parks group and they've all been excellent. We now look for them in any area we intend to visit as we can be sure of the standards and welcome.
Only slight downside was the road noise but we live in an area where the only sounds after 8pm are the occasional owl and fox. It was noticeable but didn't interfere with our enjoyment of the site. We would certainly stay again if in the area.

This has been our second visit it was just as good as the last time. Helen keeps on adding those little extra touches ( aftershave balm, shower gel and body lotion in the showers)that make it a bit more special. There is always a warm welcome from Helen and Rodger. The showers and toilets are spotless no matter what time you use them. Rodger empties the rubbish bins everyday so no overflowing rubbish. The site is a great base for seeing the area Bath, Bristol,Swindon, Cotswold and loads more. There is a pub within walking distance of the site, and a 5 mins drive to Morrisons, petrol station and a golf course. Langleys chip shop near Tescos is good, a large bag of chips would easily feed four people we had had a bag with a fish and a sausage and had to lots of chips left over. Will definitely go back.

This is a lovely site, well laid out and although the site was full when we visited, you did not feel overlooked or cramped in any way. The shower/toilet facilities were the best we have seen - the showers were roomy, spotlessly clean every day and again even though the site was full we never had to wait to use them. There were lots of nice touches such as matching handwash and hand cream in the ladies and aftershave balm in the gents. We were given a folder on arrival with everything we needed to know about the site and local area which was really useful.
There was plenty of information in the reception area to cover all interests and a good selection of books/magazines to borrow on the inevitable rainy day.
It is ideally located off the M4 and for seeing the local area.
We went into Bath one day and used the bus and train as the traffic into and out of Bath can be really bad. The bus stops at the end of the road and goes directly to the Railway Station and the trains are only 15 mins into Bath. It was very reasonable ( under £15.00 for two of us to get there) and a lot less stressful than driving!
We went to the Cepen Park pub/restaurant one night which is a few minutes drive away (near a very large Morrisons supermarket) and had a good meal again at a very reasonable price. We didn't manage the walk into Kington Langley after driving there and seeing that it was a fair way!
The only negative comment we have is the proximity to the main road and the subsequent road noise. This would not prevent us from coming back though as everything else was perfect.

What an excellent site, the owners have thought of everything here, a very useful folder to keep for your stay, that has everything you would possible want to know. The site is immaculate. The toilets and showers are excellent. 10 out of 10. I can not find fault with a thing here. And what a lovely couple. Look forward to returning in 2009.
