Visited this site in April 2014, and what a wonderful site it is, One of the easiest sites to get to just a couple of miles from Jnc 17 M4 take the A350 for Chippenham just turn left at the first roundabout on the A350 Site is on your right, Adults only very, very quite, they have a quite time between the hours of 10pm until 8am, Toilets showers are all spotless with free soap/ aftershave and shower gel, all service pitches 16amp, large could get the Caravan, awning and car on.
Short drive to Chippenham about 5mls away Places to visit are Castle Coombe the best voted village in England and I must agree with that, also Lacock village just as nice, visit Bath to see the Romans, owners are some off the friendliest very helpful. Shopping very close with Morrisons only 1mie down the road

Fantastic site. There was me, my hubby and mainecoon cat, Timber. When you arrive, the wardens tell you about the site, they give you a key card (£10. 00 refundable deposit) and a folder with all types of details of the site, the area and places to visit. Up to 5 November, you can obtain a voucher for the Hit or Miss pub in the village for a 20% discount on food and drinks. Great place to eat, and very reasonable (see my review on Trip Advisor). Traffic noise not really an issue (and no you can't hear blues and twos from the M4 that was said in another review - honestly, 2 miles away, I don't think so). 5* well deserved and loved the music in the toilets - even heard Let it Snow being played.

This is now the second time we have stayed on this site and as with the first we had a very enjoyable stay
A very friendly spacious site, made to feel totally welcome
We have noticed previous comments about the noise from the nearby main road - personally this has not affected or worried us at all on either of our stays. In fact we both find it difficult to sleep in total silence so we actually found the distant rumbling of the traffic very calming. I would say that after a short while you don't notice it
We found the site peaceful, relaxing and just perfect especially as it is an adults only site. For us it is a perfect place to spend time during the summer holidays
The site is pretty central to places like Bath, Cirencester & Swindon all with great places of interest. Some of the smaller more local villages/towns are where famous films have been shot over the years
On arrival to the site each group are lent a very useful booklet they have made up with lots of information about the surrounding areas, places to visit, useful phone numbers, directions to nearest supermarkets and much, much more. Came in very handy on many occasions. You get to keep the booklet for the duration of your stay and need to return it when vacating
Even though we spent a total of a couple of weeks here during August we have still been unable to visit all the places we had planned, so we will without a doubt be back again
Toilet blocks are so very clean with added bonus of shower gel, body lotion, hand gel and hand lotion. There are only 5 showers for the whole site (2 in the gents, 2 in the ladies and 1 disabled) because we are early risers we never found this to be a problem. Possibly if you are one for lying in then it may mean a slight wait for a shower to come free, but we always managed to get straight in.
If you are a lover of Indian food there is a lovely Indian that does take-away or sit in, only a couple of miles down the road towards Chippenham town. Cant miss it, well worth a visit
Just such a shame we had to come home. If we don't get back for another visit before winter sets in then we will be back here again early next year.
Many thanks to you all for all making our stay another memorable one - see you all again very soon. P & L

Have stayed here every year for the past four years and are going again on the 11th of August 2014. This site is perfect in every way. the owners are the loveliest couple you could ever wish to meet. Facilities are the best ever. Pitches level and generous in size. Roger keeps the grass and plants very well looked after. Lots of places to visit. There is a Morrisons Supermarket just a mile away which you can walk to if you are feeling energetic. Bus stop handy for buses to Chippenham where you can pick up transfers to lots of other places.

As on previous visits this site is outstanding, the extra little touches, the layout of the park, the park owners. Yes there is noise from the road but it is not that intrusive and it didn't stop me from sleeping at night after a while you don't seem to hear it, and as for the amount of gravel there isnt any more than in any other campsites the pitches are 50/50 with grass. It seems to me that some people have to have a moan about anything. This site is 5* and I will be going back soon

Don't even hesitate. This is an absolute gem of a site. We are seasoned caravanners and this has exceeded our expectations. THE most best customer service ever, showing you to your pitch, even offering to pitch it. Wow. The info pack during your stay is the best ever. Our life saver. They have thought of everything. Aftershave in toilets. Where do you get that. Shower gel, shampoo. Fantastic. You get the picture. That enough? What a find.

We have just had a week at this site, a nice site that is well laid out with plenty of room between pitches.
There are some very nice touches with a booklet that is very informative of all aspect of the local area. The toilets are very clean and have the bonus of shower gel and shampoo supplied BUT there are only 5 showers in total for a site this large queuing for a vacant shower became something of a past time.
The site is not as tranquil as I hoped with it being so close to a very, very busy duel carriageway the road noise was about 24/7 with motor bikes roaring up and down at times it became unbearable also being so close to the M4 junction the sirens of the emergency vehicles. Added to the noise.
A nice site if you don't mind the noise but it is one we will not visit again
There are e few petty rules with regards to only one wind breaker allowed and then you have to take it down each evening

A true gem! Seriously impressed as soon as we arrived. This is by far the best site we have had the pleasure of staying on. Just perfect in every way
The owners are lovely and make you feel so welcome. They can't do enough to help, they are always at hand even when they have left the site you can still get hold of them. Such a very friendly couple that take enormous pride in their site, and so they should its just perfect.
So very clean and well landscaped, pitches are a decent space apart so you do not feel cramped at all. Each pitch is hard standing, don't panic if your tent pegs are not strong enough to get your awning up as you can always purchase some from reception. If you have trouble with your tv reception Roger will come marching across the site with an aerial in hand to help get you set up.
The toilet blocks are amazing! Piped music, very very clean, hand wash, hand lotion, shower gel, body lotion, hair dryer and complimentary sweeties!
I am unable to find anything negative to say, only that I am sad that we have to go home. But thankfully as we have enjoyed our stay we are coming back again in another couple of weeks so happy days.
A very big thank you and congratulations to both owners for all your hard work and dedication making your site such a 'gem'
See you again soon in a couple of weeks

Plough Lane is a well situated site, being only 2 miles from the M4, and is very easy to access.
We arrived a little early and asked if we could come onto the site around midday. We were told that they close between 12 & 1 o'clock for cleaning and that the reception was also closed. However if we paid them £5 these problems would go away and we could come on. Very odd and we declined the offer on principle. After this rather iffy start we found the owners quite delightful and very friendly.
The site itself is very well laid out and the pitches are of a good size for even the biggest caravans. We had a fully serviced pitch and the systems worked perfectly. The only little niggle was with the gravel which covered the roadways and hardstandings and seemed to be coated in a cement powder which trod into every nook and cranny of the caravan and awning.
The toilet and shower facilities were immaculate with piped music and there were extras provided such as shower gel, shampoo and aftershave lotion in the gents and even a bowl of sweets (if you were quick). Unfortunately, as mentioned in previous reviews, there are only 2 showers and 1 privacy cubicle in each of the male and female wash areas for 50 pitches. One can use the one disabled facility for both sexes but there was sometimes a wait for a shower. Certainly more privacy cubicles are required for the female area. These opinions of the shower and wash facilities were overheard on several occasions by my wife during our stay.
The site is within easy reach of Morrisons' supermarket (just about half a mile) and several pubs and restaurants plus the lovely villages and points of interest in Wiltshire.
We did not find the road noise to be intrusive but perhaps our caravan is well insulated so we slept well each night.
Overall we enjoyed our stay but there are a few improvements which we feel need some attention to attain that elusive winner's place in the Caravan Magazine competition.

Friendly reception staff, the owner showed us to our pitch and helped us pitch our caravan. The toilets were clean and showers were lovely and hot. The music did get a bit much in the end, I know you can't cater for all tastes but maybe radio 2 would have been better. Can't fault the campsite it was perfect. We never had any problems with the noise from the road, yes you can hear it but it's not an issue.
We had taken our bicycles, as we had imagined lots of lovely country roads to ride around. We did ride our cycles but it was a bit frightening at times, having to cross the busy main roads, took us nearly 15 minutes at one junction, they do drive fast down there.
There is a lovely pub near the campsite, which I would recommend, the plough. So friendly and the food, yum yum. The village is within walking distance, but not for the faint hearted.
Great campsite, which offers a good base for those wanting to explore the Wiltshire countryside.
