Stayed at this adult only site for the obligatory 2 nights, wish we could have stayed longer. What a lovely site this is. The information folder which we had to pay a £10 refundable deposit for, is one of the best we've ever had, full of everything you would need to know.
Yes the road is a bit noisy but they can't help that and after a while you don't notice it.
The pitches are a good size. The toilets and showers are so well kept, spotlessly clean and smell divine. If I had to be very picky, there are not enough showers for the size of the site, but that is being picky.
It's also a shame there isn't a shop selling basics as the nearest shop is M&S which is a good way up the very busy road. I would definitely stay here again. Well done to the owners and the wardens for doing such a good job.

What a site - this is the best we have ever visited. The facilities are marvellous. The toilet blocks are immaculate, as is the whole site with easy access and excellent security. I hope that Plough Lane win an award in the Campsite of the Year because they truly deserve it for their attention to detail and customer service. This is better than any Caravan Club site we have ever stayed on and in peak season more reasonable.

We chose this site as it was in a good location for visiting the Cotswold's & Bath. When we arrived we were given a pack which had everything you needed to make your stay as stress free as possible The amenities were immaculate with lovely touches like shower gel etc. In our opinion the road noise was noticeable but not off putting, also our pitch really struggled to find and maintain a TV signal even though we tried all the gadgets we had. We found that the pitches looked untidy as we had to park our car at the front of our van and not at the side of it, which made them abandoned. In the end we chose to keep our car in the car park. All in all it was a nice site, but not one that we would rush back to.

Stopped at plough lane for 8 nights, as everyone has said excellent site, friendly welcome, clean & lots of extras. The only thing I would comment on is not enough shower cubicles for 52 pitches. Having said that we would go back there if we were in that area. Word of warning to anyone in a motorhome if you intend to visit castle coombe, the car park is at the top of the hill. We missed it no where to turn round in village, had to drive a few miles up steep narrow lane with over hanging trees 'ouch'

Wow what can we say yet another gem of a site that are part of Tranquil parks group.
The site is easy to find and just a stones throw from some out standing places of historic beauty which must be explored whilst you there.
This site itself is impeccable and Helen and Roger should be commended accordingly.
On arrival we were greeted and given a welcom pack which is by far the best we have ever seen, we were then shown our pitch. A good sized fully serviced which was nice and flat so there was no faffing about trying to level off.
Many people have slated the road noise from the A350 and to be fair yes it is there all be its very very distant. But if you engage it chat and listening to tranquil music with a glass of wine it's none existent (so stop tying to pick holes)
Over all a great site that will be given 10/10 and looking forward to our next visit

Been to this site twice and I would recommend it to you all to try if your looking to stay in the area. The site is spotless and well organised, staff are very polite and helpful. Now the important bit the toilets and showers. Wow they are the best I have ever used.

My husband and I have just spent Easter at Plough Lane and can honestly say it is the best site we have been to.
There is Road noise but after a very short while you don't tend to notice it. So easy to find and get to. Very Spacious pitches, very quiet and peaceful mainly due to fact it is Adults only!
We were given a very warm welcome and all of the staff we encountered were lovely. The folder we were given was exceptional and had all of the information you could ever need. The facilities were unbelievable. Spotlessly clean, plenty of hot water and beautiful finishing touches. Really enjoyed the creme eggs left for us on Easter Sunday morning.
Lovely area and Morrisons supermarket only 5 mins drive away.
We had Sunday Lunch in Brewers Fayre which was excellant.
The plough is a great local pub too.
We cannot wait to visit again and just wish we lived a little closer so we could go for long weekends too.
A real gem. The owners obviously work so hard to maintain this site and have thought of everything and should be so proud of what they have achieved.
Roll on the next visit which we hope to make later in the year.

This has been our second stay at Plough Lane, with our third stay already booked for 2016. I think the only minus is the proximity to a major road, but that is only an issue if you want a lie-in in the morning. However, that is off-set by the fact that access too, and finding the site is very easy.
Plough lane is a very well kept by Helen and Roger, well laid out and overall a really great site to stay. We have stayed on both standard and fully serviced pitched and both are spacious and well spaced. The facilities as others have said are excellent and well kept with some lovely touches in the ladies loo and music too. I think the Plough Lane information pack has got to be the best we have seen and is packed with all sorts of information the visitor will find useful.
There are also so many places to visit nearby, so get your map out and plan your visit.

Just spent a very pleasant week at Plough Lane - we had fantastic weather!
The site is well signposted and we were greeted upon arrival and given full instructions along with a very comprehensive guide to the site and local area. The guide was very useful!
A very well presented and designed site with immaculate toilet and shower facilities, located very close to a main road ( road noise minimal) within close proximity of chippenham. The site is ideally located to visit lots of places of interest, both locally and a bit further afield if you wish.
Satellite reception on site was excellent as was the free wifi.
Local shops at Morrisons about a 5 minute drive away with Sainsbury's a bit further and lots of other shops in chippenham itself including Tesco.
Pitches were more than adequate for caravan and awning and car. Dog walk on site was brilliant. Lots of bunnies first thing in a morning!
Places we visited:
Castle Coombe - very very beautiful place, really worth a visit. - has to be the prettiest place I have ever visited.
Bath - a must for culture and historical about a 20-25 minute journey well worth it
Lack abbey and village - film location for many movies and tv programmes, very pretty owned by the national trust so membership an advantage.
Avebury stone circle - very interesting place again owned by national trust
Weston supermare - We had the good weather so spent a day at the beach - nice town with all the usual shops and facilities- about an hours drive though, but we couldn't take the dogs on holiday without going to the beach.
Cotswold wildlife park - this again was about an hours drive from the site but well worth it. We found this park in the information provided by plough lane and we were stunned by the fact that we could take the dogs with us( this was a big bonus)- we had a really good time at this park. Lots of animals you don't normally see, plus the dogs loved it too. There were a couple of areas within the park that dogs couldn't go but on the whole it was such find!
We travelled to the park from the north down the a46 via cirencester. Whilst this was a very pretty route to take it was hindered by lots of junctions, roundabouts and hills (and I mean big hills), not a problem going down but going up again was problematic. We chose to return via the M5 which took a little bit longer but was definitely worth it for more frequent stops with more services and less hills.
Would we go again - definitely the site is a real gem in a good location for visiting an array of interesting places and towns.

Good access, good facilities well maintained, but for us the 24/7 road noise from the nearby A350 dual carriageway was too much. Boots Muffles wax earplugs recommended at night.
