Just read reviews of Plough Lane site. Don't agree with the noise statements we will be visiting again in August for the sixth time over the last four years and have never been disturbed by any noise. The only time you hear anything is when some idiot decides to use the main road as a speedway. Also the occasional ambulance, but you get that noise anywhere as they are only doing their job.
The review dates only allow me to submit our last visit.

Hadn't been back here for some years noticed a bit more of traffic noise and the cows mooing than before. Everything very well organised and maintained little too much chippings and not enough grass for our liking but handy for wet weather. Bus service short walk away but had long wait as one bus passed without stopping. Didn't use any local shops or pubs apart from Town centre Will return for its handy location

First visit and an excellent choice. Lovely relaxing holiday free from children. Everything so clean and tidy. The hard standing pitch was an ample size for caravan, awning and car. Toilets and shower area was spotless and even had background music playing. Plenty of lovely places to visit in and around the area. Morrison's supermarket for food or fuel about a quarter of a mile down the road. The Plough Inn is just the other side of the dual carriageway for good ales and good meals, I would recommend this site to anybody and will certainly be making a return visit.

First outing of the year and our first time back to Plough Lane in two years. As always a very warm welcome, and site is still as good as our first visit a few years back, even if the temperature hardly reached positive numbers all weekend! Can't think how we managed to miss visiting this site off our plans for so long.
A selection of Supermarkets are only a few minutes away as is Allington Farm shop which is worth a visit for something a little more special to eat or BBQ if the summer should turn up!

Just spent 3 nights at this lovely site. Efficiently run from the moment you reach the barrier. Warm welcome and ready with all the information you require. The information booklet for every outfit is very well done.
The site is immaculate and when you get to the shower block - well - it sets the standard for everyone else. Some lovely touches.
Very well located for all the lovely sites to visit in the area. Bus stop just outside the site for those without transport.
Cost very reasonable and includes access to the WiFi which seems to have very good coverage.
Well done Plough Lane - we will be back.

A chilly few days weather wise but a very warm reception from the owners. Both were really helpful. We were lucky we chose such a good site for our first ever trip in our caravan. Excellent facilities - even the men's toilet block had piped music, aftershave lotion and mints supplied. Helpful instructions on where to get groceries and morning paper. A lovely trip to the village of Lacock - a must on your list of places to visit. We would highly recommend this caravan site and our thanks to the owners for their help and advice.

As visitors from Australia we loved plough lane caravan park so much. The minute we arrived we were welcomed, Helen and Roger the owners had all the time in the world for us and love to have a chat. Nothing is to much trouble for them they will bend over backwards to help. They also have great sense of humor. They are also very knowledgeable about the area and can recommend places to visit and dine.
We loved it so much that we went back two weeks later for a few days. The amenities are beautiful with lovely little touches such as fresh flowers every day, beautiful relaxing music and also supply you with shower gel and moisturiser.
It has a wonderful dog walking area which is large enough for any size dog to run and play. It is one of the cleanest parks I have ever visited and I have been to a lots of parks. The site is beautiful and well maintained and so peaceful. We would recommend Plough lane in Chippingham to any one that want a quiet peaceful few days away. Thanks to Helen and Roger for making our stay very enjoyable we will definitely be back.

We used this site for a 3 night break thurs, frid, sat. Approach from the m4 motorway was simple, check in was quick we paid £5 extra to arrive early we checked in approx 11:00 hrs which made a difference,
The site we found to be clean and tidy. Our pitch was very nice. Would have preferred it to have had a wider hardstanding and a little less grass to the side, as vehicles are not allowed on the grass and had to park our 4x4 in front of the caravan which spoilt our outlook,
Showers were excellent but would have liked temperature control on the taps, shower gel, and shampoo provided free,
Some previous reviews on road noise we found this to be of no concern to us.
Some places to visit locally are lacock and castle combe a must both very pretty and used for many film set's.
This was our first visit to this site but will be returning here for sure a very enjoyable stay with excellent welcome.

This is a lovely site, and so very easy to find from the M4, being just 3 miles from J17 on A350. Being near a major A-road does mean there is some traffic noise, but it didn't bother us at all, and would think this would only trouble really picky people.
We had a very friendly welcome and were given an extremely helpful 'welcome pack' giving us loads of information - other sites could learn from Plough Lane on this aspect. Plough Lane has negotiated discounts with a couple of eating establishments in the area, which is a bonus, but we didn't have the opportunity to try any of them out.
The toilet block facilities are excellent, spotlessly clean with some nice touches like hand lotion, paper towels in a bowl, mints, magazines and fresh flowers - a bit like I would imagine a a 'posh-hotel' to provide. I particularly liked the 'mural' showing various points of interest in surrounding areas, and the wide variety of music played in the block.
There were 2 spacious showers, plus the disabled room was available as an 'overflow'. The water pressure in the ladies' showers was excellent, but the temperature in one of them was rather intermittent, without the ability to adjust it yourself. At the time of our visit the (free) hairdryer was held together with insulating tape (I've seen this in other sites too - a bit of a design fault with that type of dryer, perhaps), and the hot air mainly came out of the pipe instead of the head, but perhaps there will be a replacement soon?
The main downside for us was the pitch itself - it was in a lovely spot, plenty big enough and having a patch of grass to the side, but it was made up of very fine, gritty and stoney material which we carried into our van, despite having 2 mats to wipe our feet on. The wet weather during much of our stay obviously didn't help.
Overall this is an extremely nice, quiet, friendly site, not too pricey given the 'extras', and we definitely look forward to planning another, hopefully longer visit in the future.

All the previous reviews are spot on! Lovely site with the best facilities around. My wife emerged the first time totally speechless!
Nice people, good location (especially if you need a stop over like us) and excellent site layout.
Morrisons are literally just down the road, as are the local pubs and eateries. Chippenham is a nice town to visit
A bit of traffic roar, especially at rush hour, but don't let that keep you away from one of the best sites around.
